My name is Season and I'm a sizzler. I'm on my second diy course of Glycolic Acid 30%.

Sign in here if you're using GA, SA, LA, or MA, or indeed some new hardcore A with a mellow melt and searing sizzle. Smile

Can you use the dermaroller in conjunction with GA peeling?

CalamityKate · 29/04/2012 10:30

I've only done the GA peel once and I'm fairly sure I see a difference already.

Subtle - it's probably only me who'd notice at this stage - but the skin on my cheeks looks smoother. Also, it looks better today than it did the day immediately after the peel. Does that make sense? Is it still shedding the old skin d'y'think?

bewitchedandbewildered · 29/04/2012 10:48

Toughasoldboots, I buy the fake ones. There are warnings on the net about them shedding needles in your skin, but I've never experienced that happening.

Calamity Kate, I use them in conjunction, but with 3 days between each treatment. I think it's best to let the puncture wounds from the needles heal before doing an acid peel.

CalamityKate · 29/04/2012 12:48

SHEDDING NEEDLES INTO YOUR SKIN???? Shock

Ooh I don't like the sound of that at all!

Sorry Bewitched, but could you point me in the direction of the EXACT ones you get? I'm all worried now.

THIS is the stamp I use

bewitchedandbewildered · 29/04/2012 13:36

I see they don't have the 0.5 in that make though they do have 0.5 in THESE which are also titanium.

Tough, it's not hardcore. It's quick and easy though slightly uncomfortable. Promise.

CalamityKate · 29/04/2012 19:55

So with the stamps, you just sort of... well, stamp your face all over? How do you know how hard to press?

MrsBovary · 29/04/2012 23:31

I'll pass on the derma roller Smile

I've just done my second peel: 4 mins with 30% GA. The sting on applying the neutraliser wasn't as bad this time.

I think I'm noticing a difference. My skin is generally much softer, smoother and more luminous in appearance. Though I was slightly worried about a slight spot outbreak earlier this week, but reassured on re-reading similar in the old 'sizzle' thread, and it's already clearing up.

bewitchedandbewildered · 30/04/2012 07:31

Calamity, the stamp has a protective guard around the needles so you can't get carried away and press too hard :) The roller is the one to watch out for because it's easy to press to hard with it. It sort of drags along and cuts the skin instead of punctures when you do.

bewitchedandbewildered · 30/04/2012 07:32

PS: For those considering the dermaroller or the stamp, do watch as many youtube videos as you can first, for tips and hints on how to do it properly. The results are worth doing the research.

Just heard back from bravura... it's fine to use the 10% night cream during a course of peels, just not on same day as you've done a peel.

i was due to do a peel last night but didn't get round to it which kinda says that i'm still v happy with results from my last one over a week ago. my skin to looks way fresh.

i'm just about to upload a pic from today.

i'm intrigued but a bit scared about this needle lark.

quote of the week: bewitched "I think it's best to let the puncture wounds from the needles heal before doing an acid peel." Grin

I'm about to do my last peel of my first course. When you start your second course do you go back to 2mins first peel, and then build it up?

SeasonOfTheWitch · 30/04/2012 21:06

i don;t know the answer to that actually whiter. i did 4 mins for the one last week and i might do 6 mins tonight.

Lthewife suggested alternating 4 and 8 mins.

SeasonOfTheWitch · 30/04/2012 21:07

and have you got any more pics?

OP posts:
Whitershadeofpale · 30/04/2012 21:20

I have taken some but I thought I wait until after I've finished the course to upload so you can really see the difference. I'll take some more in a couple of days and post.

SeasonOfTheWitch · 30/04/2012 21:24

ok, i'll try to stop clicking on your profile til then ;)

are you noticing a difference each time?

OP posts:
Whitershadeofpale · 30/04/2012 21:55

Yes I definately am and I've had a few people comment that I look well or glowy. I have some blocked pores on my cheeks that have been there for years that I've been able to squeeze out as they've softened and moved to the surface I still have a few of these but virtually no blackheads and no spots.

I will let you know as soon as I upload a new pic.

WeesaD · 30/04/2012 21:55

Help!

Really need a good high SPF that goes well under makeup and doesn't look chalky!

catinboots · 30/04/2012 21:57

Just did 9 mins 50% GA. did it ten minutes after bath so stung like hell.

Looking good tho Wink

SeasonOfTheWitch · 30/04/2012 23:07

glowy whiter

i really like the paula's choise spf 45 weesa. it's pretty much like a normal moisturiser.

9 mins (!) of 50% (!) and only waiting 10 mins after washing?! bad bad cat!

WeesaD · 01/05/2012 21:14

Thanks Season, I'll look it up.

ggirl · 01/05/2012 22:29

season - could you link to the 10% night cream you use please?

missmakesstuff · 01/05/2012 22:33

That dermaroller sounds very scary, but I am tempted, one of my pet hates about my face is it looking 'jowly'.

I am signing in for the last peel of my 6 weeks, 2 days late actually, pretty laid back about it now...

Going to give it a two week break, then not sure - start from 2mins again?

Not even sure I can keep it on for 6mins actually, bloody stings like a bastard, the SA/LA, think it is much more hardcore than the GA.

Right, off to do it then to bed, have my sudocreme for afterwards ready, washed my face 30mins ago.

See you in two weeks with a dermaroller
