Wedge trainers - so a yes or no?

Since I have become obsessed with this blog have started to wonder about some wedge trainers - particularly these ones

So has anyone got them - do you wear them a lot? I like how they're styled with white skinnies and can envisage wearing them a fair bit . . .

I have these.here I love them but h laughs and laughs at them

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/04/2012 09:19

Oh I like those a lot. What do you wear them with? I suspect my DH would do the same . . .

I like them. I think I would give them a try in a different colour, as I can't/don't do white jeans (messy, and bottom too big...)

Go for it!

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/04/2012 09:49

NY - you need to get some white skinnies - have you tried any because you would look fab in them Smile

And honestly - you are teeny tiny

Mrs CB have just purchased the delicious Ash trainers you linked to.
Am now perusing the blog you have also linked to.
You could definitely turn your shopping hobby into a career.

notyummy · 19/04/2012 10:25

You are right MrsCB -I am so scared of them that I haven't even tried any on - ridiculous! I will at least do that. I know I am not 'big' but I am still a bit pear shaped and live in fear of things that emphasis my bottom too much.

LookAtAllTheseFucksIGive · 19/04/2012 10:25

I don't like those first ones sorry. They look like they have been made with skin grafts from a Benidorm extra. I like the ones that look like high tops but with a concealed wedge. These

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/04/2012 10:27

Oh Theweek - have you worn them yet?

Lookat - you should write the copy for my-wardrobe Wink I think I prefer a more obvious wedge

Tiggsybabes · 19/04/2012 10:29

No!!!!! I love my converses & I love my mule wedges, but I don't want them combined, thanks!!!

LookAtAllTheseFucksIGive · 19/04/2012 10:30

Sorry Mrs. I have seen those in real life (on my sister) and they look better in the picture. I think they cost nearly £150 too. My clothing is cheap (money wise). I'm quite stylish for a big bird. :o

LookAtAllTheseFucksIGive · 19/04/2012 10:32

Oh this has appeared on my fb feed too.

Theweek · 19/04/2012 10:36

Not arriving until tomorrow.... Love them already- am hoping I still love them when they get here.
Highly amused by Benidorm comment and DH will be very bemused by them Smile

BettyBathroom · 19/04/2012 10:44

Don't like them....either wedges or trainers, not both.

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/04/2012 10:49

I knew they would be divisive Smile

Am in London on Saturday - will try on I think . . .

Was under the impression this board was for stylish things, no? Wink

They are bloody horrid. And very last year anyway.

:p

startail · 19/04/2012 11:09

Apart from being stupid, heels and comfy casual clothes just jar horribly. You wouldn't wear a tracksuit and stilettos.

Anyway they wouldn't pass the DD2 giggle test.

FourYolksAche · 19/04/2012 11:15

I do like them but had to laugh at my-wardrobe's spiel - 'a timeless investment for any woman' Hmm Grin

SparkyTGD · 19/04/2012 11:23

I prefer the flat ones, from Ash, lovely but out of my price range, got these instead, from MissKG at debenhams.

SparkyTGD · 19/04/2012 11:25

Oops, that didn't work, mean these instead.

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/04/2012 11:27

Foof - oh I don't listen to everybody on mn - i mean seriously some think white skinnies aren't a good look Shock

I don't wear flat shoes ever hence these appealed.

suburbandweller · 19/04/2012 11:57

YY to Ash wedge hi-tops! I bought some like the ones you linked to a couple of weeks ago, but in the high wedge rather than mid. I lurrrve them, but have to confess to being a bit clueless as to options for what to wear them with. Have so far worn them with black leggings and long sleeveless tunic-type top for a night out, and with black leggings and dress for day. They look quite funky imo.

dexter73 · 19/04/2012 12:09

They are not for me (not keen on high heels+trainer) but I wouldn't point and laugh at you in the street if I saw you wearing them!

AmberNectarine · 19/04/2012 13:06

I love wedge trainers mrsCB, I'm after the Ash cool or Bowie myself. Get them, if you love them that much you'll wear them.

But then what do I know, I'm wearing uggs due to a toe injury

CointreauVersial · 19/04/2012 13:08

They are the sort of shoes that always look sooo fab and stylish on other people, but would look ridiculous on me (or so I think).

MrsCB - I'm hooked on that blog too - I like pretty much everything she wears.

Bienchen · 19/04/2012 13:09

I think they are great for someone who is young or very trendy and prepared to buy things just for one season. Not for me either; someone has taken the concept of fusion cooking to fashion. (I do wonder whether they scream just a little "fashion victim"....)
