Sorry about thread title. Hope everyone is back from holidays soon and will find us here.

amber Which JBrands did you get?

bonsoir I tried on those two tops in Cos before Easter and was tempted too. Bought a simple navy dress in Cos and shoes, which are not on the website Hmm. Will return this top. Cos is great at the moment I think.

yes I had a quick look in Zara last night, will look more closely at the weekend I think! TopShop was only a concession in Debenhams, so may have to go to a proper shop to see a decent range.

DP look like they only have black & stone, haven't tried H&M yet either...

Shopping tomorrow then!

thanks for your reply

I love Fridays but things got a bit spoilt when I opened yet another email from a class rep Mum this morning. We have to choose a story and prepare an activity for literacy night next week. We'll have a time slot of 30 minutes. She has spent hours in the library, has researched endless activities on the Internet and wants to do salt-dough and other messy stuff. She has sent me tons of emails already and now wants to have a conference call tonight at 9pm! I don't know if I can just reply: "Sorry Fridays are for sitting on the sofa with DH, drinking Prosecco." She works full-time. As much as I appreciate her effort, I have just realized how different people are in their approach to dealing with projects: I have asked DD which stories would be good and got a selection of four in about ten minutes. Have come up with two activities for each story in another fifteen minutes and thought sorted. Rant over, sorry...

bloss The Balenciaga messenger is gorgeous! I have bought two new bags at an Outlet Mall on the way to my parents' house before Easter. One has a detachable cross body strap and it is great to be hands-free and not having to readjust a shoulder bag strap all the time. Won't link as it is an obscure German brand.

Fritzi - Grin at your overzealous mother. I'm wondering how salt-dough aids literacy...? Could you send her a very enthusiastic email saying how wonderful it all sounds but that you think it would be better suited to a fine motor skills development workshop (that you might be organising later in the year Wink) and that you would like to stay word-focused for now?

FritziGreenEyes · 13/04/2012 12:17

In case anyone is interested (in the bags obviously, not my class rep woes):

Salt dough, any time, any place: shudder.

AmberNectarine · 13/04/2012 12:55

Have you seen this bloss? Will definitely try the jigsaw tees as resent Vince prices (£60 in Harvey Nicks!!) Am also liking the Whistles seam back tees a lot, now I have delightfully muscly toned arms but the white is too see through.

pickled no worries, it was as close to perfect as I've seen in all other respects.

I am currently coveting a mini bag as I am so bored of always lugging a ton of crap with me. Have my beady eye on this little bad boy, which I will get next month I think.

AmberNectarine · 13/04/2012 12:57

Also, is it odd that DH seems really pleased with my 'guns' as he calls them? Closet gay? Wink

blossoming · 13/04/2012 13:05

I was just looking at that amber. Lovely, but I'm veering towards the black one.
The Matches stylists are on fire..
exhibit A (everything, the bag, jeans, ysl slingbacks...)
exhibit B (less me, but lovely all the same!)

OllieinOrange · 13/04/2012 13:10

Fritzi the other Mum sounds a bit of a nightmare, what an awkward situation for you to be in. Agree that Friday nights are for prosecco and not conference calls. Ive noticed quite a few places other here selling Liebeskind now. I need a summer bag - mine just seems too wintery with what Im wearing.

GeordieVik Was going to suggest H&M. This H&M one was nice and soft and there are several other navy ones on their wesbite.
I find some can be too long on me which makes me look like I am wearing DH's suit jacket but H&M are fine.

Mango had a lovely one with a single button too.

Icey I LOVED your post about DS1, you sound so content. Awwwww.

OllieinOrange · 13/04/2012 13:13

Speaking of Mango, saw a girl trying this dress on yesterday. She was young, tall and tanned - looked so good on her.

Bonsoir · 13/04/2012 13:15

Amber - mini-bags are a very good thing in theory but I have a real sunglasses problem with the two I have - I just can't fit the case in!

OllieinOrange · 13/04/2012 13:17

Oh I like this stripy number a la WIT on her hols too here

AmberNectarine · 13/04/2012 13:25

Yes I was thinking that, plus being the cart horse that I am I actually use a clutch bag as a purse! The raoul one doesn't look too tiny though unlike this little beauty which I originally fell for.

Bonsoir · 13/04/2012 13:35

You are being a bad influence, Amber, because I am now starting to entertain thoughts of a new bag which, while small, will comfortably hold all the essentials.

I bought some new sunglasses in Prada two weeks ago which are very flattering but I haven't worn as the case is enormous. I think I need to do something about the case as well!

AmberNectarine · 13/04/2012 13:40

Ooh, cheapo version

AmberNectarine · 13/04/2012 13:42

Afraid it sounds like you need a new bag bonsoir - I also like the Celine mini-luggage which I think is a nice in between size... Or thant Miu Miu comes bigger...

AntPants1 · 13/04/2012 14:11

Hell everyone. Lovely day so far. Trip to new frozen yoghurt place with the kids this morning. reine it's on the terrace if you haven't spotted it yet. Really really lovely stuff! Was going to take DD to Westfield to see the new sleeping beauty film, mirror mirror but it's actually quite a nice day and seemed a shame to sit in dark cinema on a rare sunny day so have been pottering in the garden instead. Have filled several big bags with leaves and am feeling very smug!!

fritzi school mum sounds completely ridiculous. If I were you I'd back away from that one. Can you just say you have plans on Friday night and cannot call in? I am sure you are not the only mum who thinks she is over the top.

amber I love the pink saddle bag.

ollie well done on your haul. It all sounds lovely. Don't worry about strippy top episode. We have all done similar.

bloss have you seen the cost of the matches top in "exhibit A" ?!£600!!! Seriously!!! I'd expect a full outfit and dinner and a show for that!!!

blossoming · 13/04/2012 14:42

It's the styling ants! Blush

OllieinOrange · 13/04/2012 15:00

Ants - I tried Snog frozen yoghurt last year in the UK and loved it. Fat free loveliness!

Is anyone getting anything from Gap with the 30% off?

Decameron · 13/04/2012 15:01

Reporting back for Ollie! I tried on both tops, the medium is a 12, I'd say. The slub swing jersey top fits well around the arms and shoulders but is quite shapeless, that's the style, I suppose. I am tempted by the linen top now but I didn't think that the jersey top was great, tbh. Don't think they were too see through but didn't see Pickled's post until I came home!

I bought the Cora stripe vest and the pink Hazel top with the Elle discount. I could have bought lots more there, so many nice things in Whistles at the moment. Bought some cute dresses for the DDs in H&M and had to leave it there as the baby was not in a shopping mood. Just as well really! Saw your Maje top, Verity, really lovely.

We are looking both here and in Ireland, Pickled. We can get so much more for our money in Dublin and could rent it out for a few years.

My bargain dress arrived, really pleased with it, a good fit.

Like that first Matches outfit a lot, Bloss.

Geordie, yes, I ordered a navy blazer from Whistles but it hasn't arrived yet, will let you know if it is any good.

Fritzi, that mother sounds like a pita.

Have to go and make jewelry with DD1 now. She keeps asking when she starts back at school, I must be very boring company.

AntPants1 · 13/04/2012 15:02

bloss I know. But I was gutted as really liked the top but not at that price!!!!

pickledsiblings · 13/04/2012 15:07

Bloss, the Balenciaga looks good worn across the body in exhibit B. The red is v. nice actually, I like the contrast between the leather and the metal - there's not quite enough of one in the black iykwim.

Ants, have you got a scrapbook of lookalikes to take along to your consultation Smile? I'll be thinking about you on the 23rd as I have my own job related mini drama happening that day. You are sounding refreshed already, amazing what a bit of time off work will do for you.

blossoming · 13/04/2012 15:18

decam, there is a 25% discount voucher for coach Shock in Glamour!

pickledsiblings · 13/04/2012 15:32

Decam, great time to buy in Dublin atm I'm sure.
