Sorry about thread title. Hope everyone is back from holidays soon and will find us here.

amber Which JBrands did you get?

bonsoir I tried on those two tops in Cos before Easter and was tempted too. Bought a simple navy dress in Cos and shoes, which are not on the website Hmm. Will return this top. Cos is great at the moment I think.

Of course it is Bikram. Thanks Fritzi. I am clueless, having done neither type. (Am not sure what type my 'MTV Power Yoga' DVD I got from Amazon for £1.99 is....Wink)

AmberNectarine · 24/04/2012 09:28

My mistake fritzi - the nearest I have come to yoga is the trousers. Thermostat has been restored to more appropriate levels now thankfully.

Another night, another nightmare - was up with the baby (who was coughing up mucus - the glamour) from 1.30am-4am. This has to be the longest lasting cold in history. Am, as usual, a zombie. You know things are bad when you start spooning formula into your glass of apple juice. Still, low key day of washing and sorting ahead of a trip to Center Parcs next week. Am phoning it in today with indigo C/E skinnies which are way too big but very comfy, navy & white striped whistles top and yellow Supergas as I couldn't find my navy ones. Must try harder.

Hope you all have lovely days!

Bonsoir · 24/04/2012 09:35

On the "admin-lite" aspect of PT jobs - I think it is really vital to be realistic about how much of one's time one is able to devote to mundane/repetitive tasks without falling into depression. Parenting/running a home almost always involves quite a lot of admin/mundane stuff (even if one is diligent about re-engineering the whole thing often in order to minimise work/maximise efficiency). Going out to work and then doing more routine/mundane work would kill me completely - I don't have it in me. I cannot work (for money or in a voluntary capacity) unless there is stimulation and creativity in it...

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2012 09:44

Me too Bonsoir. It's working out the big concepts and how they look that I love. And actually both things that I do encompass this, despite sounding quite different.

And I do need to feel quite free to do it justice.

Feeling much more zen with just one child home today.

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2012 09:46

Ha Amber I love it when Jillian says phoning it in Grin

Hopefully · 24/04/2012 09:50

Morning!

Ants how exciting (and scary) it must have been to see the consultant. Great news that it's all doable and he is in agreement with you.

Amber amused at your hot yoga. I did a 10 minute yoga You Tube video this morning in an effort to unknot the appallingly stiff back I have from carrying DS2 all over the soft play (think rope bridges, ladders, slides) yesterday after DS1. Big mistake. I also ordered a Rodney Yee yoga DVD yesterday, as I did a full yoga session on the weekend and realised how much I have tightened up in the last couple of weeks - DS2 is really heavy now and combines huge clinginess with refusing to crawl, so am carrying him everywhere.

Went to see The Way of The World at the theatre last night with some friends. Was really good, but the downside of putting a bunch of mothers with babies in a dark room is that, no matter how good the entertainment, they will all begin to yawn and droop a little. Costumes were fab though, and Penelope Keith was amusing.

Loving all the career talk too. I am so excited about training in the summer, and feeling really positive about the way I'm going to work and how it will all tie in with where my skills already lie. Hurrah! We're currently trying to decide when to move (before I train or just afterwards) as we have to offset the benefits of being settled with the downside of having about 50p to our name.

OllieinOrange · 24/04/2012 09:59

Amber this isn't meant to scare you but DS2 used to suffer from long running colds when he was a baby. I didn't think much of it to begin with (amost got used to seeing him with a runny nose) but then his nursery worker mentioned it and it turned out he needed some antibiotics to help clear it up an infection. His colds used to bring on some kind of nasal infection - which affected his sleeping and ability to eat. After a year of ongoing colds/infections, we had his adanoids removed and the problem cleared up immediately.
Maybe worth a trip to the Drs if you don't see an improvement soon - may just need a course of antibiotics?

ny can only agree with the others, dress looked worthy of a Jillian style "good work" compliment!

Ants am sooo proud of you. Sounds like a very positive consultation which is great. Looking forward to hearing about your colour analysis today.

No love heart biscuits for Colin today *Fritzi- but he had a builder friend stop buy to quote for some minor electrical work and I ended up getting quotes for new hall and kitchen floor, a kitchen island and the fitting of a new oven.

Im putting it down to the Colin Effect!

AmberNectarine · 24/04/2012 10:28

ollie I'm exaggerating a bit, it's only been 5 days, but because DS had it for about 5 days before that so it's been a longish run of really shocking nights. I will keep a very close eye on her though, fingers crossed she seems a bit brighter today.

marsha I like it too!

Black Agnes on the outnet

notyummy · 24/04/2012 11:43

Just seen this site linked to on another thread and wondered if it had been linked on here yet. Very interesting! When I input my figures (based on rough guess work as I haven't measured myself lately) it was quite eye opening. Gap and Reiss stick out as main offenders in the vanity sizing stakes. Explains why a size 10 from Reiss was so shapeless on me though!

AmberNectarine · 24/04/2012 11:59

Yes I am an across board 10 in every one (except for Monsoon skirts where I would need a 12 appaz) but an 8 in gap and reiss.

Hopefully · 24/04/2012 12:17

NY that site is good, I've seen it before I think. Apparently I am also an 8 in Reiss and Gap. With my shoulders? I don't think so. Pleased to see that nowhere has me bigger than a 12 though. So why don't I weigh what a normal size 10-12 person weighs?

Interesting thing about sizing/body shape. It's taken me ages to accept, since I started exercising at Christmas, that all the exercise in the world isn't going to change my actual basic shape. I would, for instance, look ridiculous if I went down to an actual size 8 (as opposed to what Reiss thinks is a size 8), because I'm broad shouldered and relatively big hipped. I think I'd just look bony and odd. I'm much better off trying to look healthy, athletic and not-too-fat than I am attempting to turn myself into Jessica Alba et al. I appreciate that this is not rocket science Smile

I am having the least exciting shopping moment ever - new nappy wraps for the baby, new underwear for DH and nothing for me. Boo.

You are right re Zara FLE -and yes, I can remember trying to do my yoga DVD (which includes a relaxation bit at the end) when DD was about 2. The relaxation bit may not have worked......

Marni23 · 24/04/2012 13:33

Sorry to crash the thread, but Amber I just saw your link to black Agnes jeans on Outnet. Have never worn them but they look great and am very tempted. I'm assuming that you have some-are they nice and what would you advise re sizing? Thanks.

OllieinOrange · 24/04/2012 13:49

Just inputting onto that site and it came up with size 8 top in banana republic! Thought ooohhhh and then realised i hadnt switched to the uk version!!

OllieinOrange · 24/04/2012 13:51

FLE Colin's real name is Ron! Im calling him Colin cos he looks like Colin Farrell!

Russianred · 24/04/2012 13:52

Goodness, not sure I could handle Jillian and heat! Hope DD is better soon Amber.

Ollie I am most amused by all of your quoting; one step further on the kitchen island quest! How is the colour looking?

I am feeling pleased today as am in my thin jeans with no overhang; something must be working.

I am doing some hypothetical, I've received my first pay cheque browsing and I rather like this Whistles dress which I nearly bought in Navy last year. Prefer the pink I think. Am also wondering if I could get away with this jumper. Reminds me of my youth - perhaps better left there?!

Pickled I have relented and put one (just one!) breton dress into the swap party pile. Will be interesting to see how it works NY; shall report back (and am hoping there are fellow short-arses there to ensure excellent dividends).

AmberNectarine · 24/04/2012 13:52

Marni I do have them, I'd say they are true to size - I'm a 10 and have a 28 which are now a little big. They are v popular on this thread!

Russianred · 24/04/2012 14:03

Anything but Ron, Ollie! My Mum once went on a date (not suggesting you would, of course) with the plumber we fancied as teens when she was having the loft converted. We were in awe of her!

Marni23 · 24/04/2012 14:49

Thanks Amber

notyummy · 24/04/2012 17:16

Am soooooo over the Outnet and messing around with DHL. Booked a pick up for tomorrow but they turned up today instead and so have missed it. Just spent 30 minutes rearranging on phone - and they charge for returns!! Harrumph.

More proof if any were needed that WIT has got a bun in the oven: she put on twitter 'never host a hen party when you're the only one that has to remain sober'. Wonder when she'll announce it...
