*sounds klaxon* 30% GA peel shizzle that you can do at home

thought i ought to do a public service and announce it properly as hardly anyone seems to know you can buy this stuff to use at home - and it works out sooo much cheaper than having it done at a salon even tho it's the exact same stuff.

i've only used it once so far (for 3 mins) but have been properly amazed by the results - as i posted on another thread, my 11s have reduced by 50% [holy grail] and my skin generally looks brighter and more even.

you do it weekly, building up the time over 6 weeks and then have a break.

the magic goo is here: www.bravuralondon.com/glycolic-acid-30.html

don't forget to get the neutraliser (apparently just bicarb but maybe has crushed fairies' castles in it too Hmm so your choice) and use sun block in the day.

anyone a veteran of the stuff and care to share your results?

p.s. i don't work for bravura and i'm a MN regular recently name-changed to separate my S&B chat with my over-sharing on other threads.

(sorry, off topic but tried the lanacane gel as primer - same texture and smell as smashbox at a fraction of the price - result!!!)

cocolepew · 20/04/2012 18:56
Shock

I got No.1 & 2 of this in Asda today, a fiver each. The No.1 is lovely, it goes onto dry skin, like a gel, and it's warm. Then No. 2 is a wash with a muslim cloth.

Of course I used it tonight and then straight away used the GA Hmm
I used bicarb for my neutraliser, and it stings Shock

I can't comment on my skin yet because my picked at bits haven't healed Blush

TheGrimSweeper · 20/04/2012 19:19

Been peeling for a couple of yrs, now manage combo of40% ga followed immediately by 20% sa for a deep peel but pretty full on peeling for up to a week after.

Usually just do the ga though. My skin is x a million better and I truly look younger than I did 10 years ago...37 now but 99% of people I meet think I'm 20's.

Couldn't live without my acid..killjoy dh thinks there must be as yet undiscovered long term effects [hmmm]

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 20/04/2012 19:21

cyb I have got the healthy mix serum and it is better than my Lancome Teint Miracle and nearly as good as the By Terry. I really rate it for everyday use.

I have got a bastarding cold sore which means I can't burn my face tonight - just the thought of a molecule of acid getting into the sore makes me wince. Plus I look like the elephant man anyway, coldsores are so ugly making. So I won't be looking in the mirror until the sore has gone.

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 20/04/2012 19:21

excellent re lanacane. I will get some oft hat.

cocolepew · 20/04/2012 19:26

Lanacane makers will think they are a lot more itchy women out there, their sales will rocket over the weekend now.

catinboots · 20/04/2012 19:26

Cold sores are a contraindication of the acid apparently Sad

cocolepew · 20/04/2012 19:28

Oh don't say that, i get one too Sad

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 20/04/2012 19:29

Oh really?

Bloody hell. That is a major downside.

So I have got perfect skin but feel like Medusa because of the coldsores. I was at work in a meeting today when I felt the tingle, had no zovirax on me so had to wait until the end of the day, by which time it had grown. So it will last for days now. Bloody great at the start of the weekend.

cybbo · 20/04/2012 19:32

THe oil my skin was leaking out daily has all but stopped too.

My make up would slide around on my face- I am using that mac primer now which is helping but the reduction in my pore size is deffo due to the acid and the lack of grease therein

Its taken 3 peels to get a visible reult, not a HUGE transforamtion but one that I am pleased with

might get Botox for No11 next pay day........

cybbo · 20/04/2012 19:35

coco that's a double cleanse youre doing right there -another thing that will get your skin looking great

I've just done the patch test. Don't know if I can wait until tomorrow. Probably won't

cybbo · 20/04/2012 20:32

DoUnto I didnt do a patch test at all

DoUntoOtters · 20/04/2012 20:50

You iz nails, cybbo. Grin

I have neither the special serum, nor the recommended facial oils for after my sizzle. I have rose facial oil, aqueous cream, baby bottom butter or Sudocrem.

Any of these any good or should I wait until I've got the right stuff?

Someone I think, is doing both, but I have yet to do my first one. Sorry I can't help.

kaumana · 20/04/2012 21:11

I'm about to start doing both. I've used the 30% GA and have ordered the 20% SA, am planning to use the SA on my chin and nose and the GA everywhere else.

ggirl · 20/04/2012 21:13

TheGrimSweeper so where did you get the 40% GA? and how much peeling do you get?
recluse for the week peeling?

ggirl · 20/04/2012 21:14

toughaasoldboots-the grimsweeper uses both GA and SA

cybbo · 20/04/2012 21:37

DoUnto I put Decleor facial oil on after, seems to soothe and untighten

WayneKerr · 20/04/2012 21:40

I've just had my first go with LA 50%, and...... no discernable effect.

I have rosacea, so need to be careful (yet, strangely did not bother to patch test) so went for just 2 mins. I could feel the acid kind of tingling whilst it was on, not really much of a sizzle when the bicarb went on.

Feeling a bit deflated, should have left it 3 mins, maybe. Or perhaps my face will be all a-gorgeous in the morning?

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 20/04/2012 21:53

Friday night is Sizzle Night in this house and having done No.4 my skin still reacts to it differently in different areas which means I have to neutrlise bits of my face early otherwise I have a tendancy to crisp Confused

I am very Envy of all the compliments from your nearest and dearest.
