BTW with beginner I mean myself, not five-year-old DD Grin

Bleurgh at missing tooth Ollie!

Fritzi I might inclined to miss out the zip and just make a little bag to put the piglets in, but other than that it looks nice and simple as long as you take it slow and follow the instructions.

So I may have done a huge detour via the garden centre to pop to Primark but so pleased I did. Got

  • off white sweatshirt with a navy stripe - in the style of Reds lovely Whistles one. Looks good with my bf jeans. Really chuffed with it as tried several on on London and none worked on me;
  • Pretty cornflower blue and white ditzy print bikinni;
  • 2 scarves, plain grey marl jersey and a navy one with red/white/cream spot print - nice and big;
  • 2 pack of flipflops - one navy and one orange - so all ready for Oueens Day. Had some from here two years ago and they were so comfy and have lasted well;
  • strapless stretchy vest top/boob tube in a cornflower blue to wear with white shorts in the garden/beach and it also matches bikinni;
  • 2 x pairs of skinny chinos (like WITS) - in a royal blue and corally red. Will get shortened to ankle length but good fit (quite highb rise and flattering on the bum). Remembered Surburbans blog and sized up for movement - good tip, thank you!

At the risk of boring you all senseless, also got a gorgeous box in the style of Cath Kidson of 10 lipglosses for a friend's 11 year old daughter and a few bits for the boys including a great turquoise hoody for DS1 with a aysmmetric zip opening which he will love.

Have that happy post-shopping feeling esp as they were all bargains (am obviously ignoring the fact they may well fall apart or not wash well etc)

FritziGreenEyes · 27/03/2012 13:31

Wow ollie great haul! Did you get anything at the garden centre too? Wink

OllieinOrange · 27/03/2012 13:42

I think its fair to say I spent less time and money in the garden centre Smile Brought some white hydrangeas as the ones I planted last summer have survived the winter so must like the soil, location etc. I always make the mistake of buying tiny flowering plants and need bigger ones to fill out the beds.

Russianred · 27/03/2012 13:49

Fritzi my first sewing project was making these birds for DD's room - I put them all on a branch and then put that on hooks on the wall and it looks so, so lovely. I made them from all sorts of fabric scraps we had lying around and I still look at them and smile.

That is an excellent Primark haul Ollie - chinos sound particularly promising. Am now trying to work out if I can wangle in a Primark trip somehow pre-holiday.

Lovely playsuit - your linen version sounds gorgeous Fleecy. Someone should really get that one - your kind of thing MrsCB?

What would you have done Hopefully? I would love a tattoo but am so changeable I don't trust myself to like it a year down the line.

Glad the Earharts are doing well Amber. Would love to be in mine, but no chance of locating them at the moment. Nevermind.

Am feeling a little flustered after the hot carpet fitter gave me his number - he is coming back to do the bathrooms and utility while we are away and told me to call him 'to sort out the quote and, you know, if there's anything else I can do for you' with a wink at the end. I blushed and hurried him out the door.

Dauphin · 27/03/2012 14:03

Thanks MeTheMog .

Thanks too Reine. Gorgeous cake ...you clever gal!

DH and I have been together for 22 years (eek!), married for 17 this July, and were on our own for 11 years before DS was born. We thought we were a bit too young for kids ! Yes, am hoping the kids will keep me young!

Russianred · 27/03/2012 14:07

Leather jacket for you Hopefully?

FritziGreenEyes · 27/03/2012 14:20

hopefully Thanks for the tip! And red those birds are lovely. Although I shouldn't plan any more projects and maybe finish the ones I have started first Blush

Is it deca's and momi's mini MU at Prada today?

OllieinOrange · 27/03/2012 14:42

Trying not to laugh at DS1 trying to walk in flip flops for the first time.

Love those birds, but have a shelf of unfinished craft projects.

I feel I need the Boden broderie top. Does anyone have a code?
Cant decide between cream or the blue either. Cream would be nice with black skinnies and jeans but the blue would be good with white jeans.

FritziGreenEyes · 27/03/2012 15:03

ollie I find I don't really wear black trousers in summer at all. On the other hand it is easier to find tops to wear with white skinnies and the cream + broderie is a really nice combination.

Decameron · 27/03/2012 15:56

Hi, I didn't go to Westfield as I would have had to be back for 12 so not enough time. Sorry I didn't get to meet you, Mominatrix. Next time, next time!

Also tired as DD2 woke at 1am. She only has one tooth, this teething lark could go on for a while.

That's exactly how we felt, Dauphin.

Ollie, great shopping. I caved and ordered the Boden top in the navy as well as my Whistles version has formula on it and is not looking as pristine as I'd like! Z390 for 20% off at Boden.

That Whistles leather jacket is really nice.

*Rufus, Theory or Weekend MaxMara for jacket, MiH or J Brand for coloured jeans and Nicole Farhi for tops, there you go. :)

I've been sorting through my summer clothes and I really like the Me & Em dresses and tops I got last summer. I didn't buy that much as DD2 was newborn but DD1 pointed out to DH that I have a lot of clothes. Thanks for that. I don't need anything really but I want a pair of shorts (I like the red Jigsaw ones), another dress or two when DKNY go on sale, this top and a red bag.

Lovely Jigsaw tops, Bloss.

Red, I'm impressed with the birds. Cute piggies, Fritzi.

OllieinOrange · 27/03/2012 16:01

Decameron I knew you would have a lovely code for me, thank you! Did you order your usual size? Am completely torn over the colour. Would wear black 7/8s on a night out so cream would be good for that (along with normal jeans) but navy possibly a better colour for me and I did live in white jeans last summer. Maybe I should get both to try????

Decameron · 27/03/2012 16:03

Ollie, get both! The cream has already sold out in 8 and 10. I got a 12, fits perfectly.

Decameron · 27/03/2012 16:06

I am normally a 12, btw, Ollie.

OllieinOrange · 27/03/2012 16:17

Thanks Decameron

I love this navy swimsuit from the White Company - and the matching bikini which is gorgeous in the white too here
Bloss did you have a swimsuit from WC last year? Whats their quality like?

pickledsiblings · 27/03/2012 16:51

Ollie, I'm Grining at someone daring to criticize your 'balls' and Grining even more at you PMing Fritzi to get it off your chest. They are forward those Dutchies.

Red, slapped wrist for you leading the fit fitter on Smile. Fab birds btw.

Thanks for the PM Annie.

Decam, do not get a tattoo (just in case you were thinking about it Grin)

Decameron · 27/03/2012 16:53

Like Johnny Depp's Winona Forever!

pickledsiblings · 27/03/2012 17:08

You'd probably change your mind before you left the tattoo parlour Decam Smile.

Anybody like these Boden shoes? Never bought shoes from Boden, are they any good?

pickledsiblings · 27/03/2012 17:16

MrsCB, I am in Blue Bonnetts with red hasbeens today - what do you think, too much?

Russianred · 27/03/2012 17:17

Ollie very tough call, especially with all the points noted - I'm inclined to say get both, but when I've done that, one always gets more wear and the other gets neglected. If pushed, I say navy.

Pickled, I know, but it's the first bit of male attention I've had in years, I was only too happy to join in. I'm becoming one of those women, aren't I?!

OllieinOrange · 27/03/2012 18:11

I got an email about the DVF range for Gap - you can shop the preview this evening (from 5.30pm).

Decameron · 27/03/2012 18:45

It is not that I change my mind so much as worry about what I've spent.
