new thread!

Was strangely attracted to this navy white polka dot dress in my mum's catalogue.

AmberNectarine · 21/03/2012 21:44

I really like that dress bloss. Have weird phobia of Land's End - when I was at school we had a purple uniform, and the only trousers we were allowed to wear were purple cords. Back in the day these were hard to come by, so my parents ordered them from Land's End, and did the typical parent thing of ordering them about 6 sizes to big and making me wear them. I swear they wouldn't fit me now. I looked like a clown and accordingly associate Land's End with feelings of humiliation and ridicule. Apologies for that unecessary tour of my tortured psyche.

Yes, parents have a lot to answer for amber!

Also sending your DD get well vibes NY

blue2711 · 22/03/2012 04:18

Have been trying to read as much as possible but only just got a chance to look at the links, and oh decameron what lovely purchases! I think I will get the fahri and boden tops too (breaking my boden rule too! First non DC purchase ever!).

My DM does lots of gardening for me Blush. I do think I could get into it though but while we're renting I lack the drive. Suspect I will always be just a fair weather gardener though which is probably no good at all. Loving the sound of the wisteria and magnolia. DS said today 'oh mummy the pink and purple trees look so pretty!'. It's so nice seeing the world through his eyes.

Hope your DD is ok ny. Your holiday wardrobe sounds fab with all those maxis, v glam. I own just two maxis, both slim jersey tube ones, one petite length and one for age 12-13. Suspect maxis not really made for skinny 5ft1 women!

Hope all is ok mim and you're enjoying gorgeous cuddles like me.

ReineDeSaba · 22/03/2012 06:54

mim our computer has been out of sorts for a couple of days(wonders if hopefully's DH had a hand in it Grin ) but ny* texted me your wonderful news..am absolutely thrilled for you.. enjoy the magic of your newborn.

blue2711 · 22/03/2012 07:04

Boden top purchased! Hope it looks good.

After a very busy week of visits and activities I've got a lovely quiet day planned where I intend to sit around with DD and do more online shopping. Back later.

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2012 07:12

Good one Blue!

Slay how's your NaP?

Glorious weather again! After all this talk I might do an order of more roses and a wisteria for high back fence. No mil to plant it.

I fancy buying some summery stuff today too.

AmberNectarine · 22/03/2012 07:40

Ooh, bit stiff today. Meeting DH for lunch today do a mooch round Cov Gdn in order, yippee! Need to weather to go above 20c, then I will feel justified in going open toed.

Right am back on the MFP wagon. Going to be good today.

Boden has some gems hidden amongst the Fun Skirts, etc!

How is your DD today, NY?

I put on the Jigsaw shirt this morning. DH told me it was far too big and looked like a maternity top, not quite the look I'm going for this year so back it goes.

Have a lovely day, Amber.

Close Anniemac thanks! but ye, a bit too girly for me.

Yes most likely the link effect.

blossoming · 22/03/2012 12:49

Hope you are both doing well mim.
How are things with you ny?
decam, got the opposite response from my DH, surprise surprise, wearing fitted navy blouse tucked into navy pinstripe skirt. They love their form fitting don't they?

AmberNectarine · 22/03/2012 12:56

Oh yeah, my DH is most distressed that my style has changed since having the DCs. I used to trot around in bodycon dresses all day long. He judges my purchases based largely on how tight/low cut they are. Sigh.

Dh likes pretty much the same as what I buy these days.

Buying stuff like Marant and Kors heels is a relatively new thing (he likes those).

Wish I could hold my DH up as a paragon of good taste but he is frankly baffled by what I spend on clothes, though happily he lets me get on with it. He is very bitter that his ascension at work means he has to fork out big money for suits etc now, which he considers a waste of money [hmmm]

AmberNectarine · 22/03/2012 13:55

Any day suits me annie as I am SAHM lady of leisure with non-school-age DCs until September. Minor pref for weekdays as I so rarely see the man who makes it all possible [hopes he isn't reading]

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2012 14:01

Grin I made him wait 10 years. It's due to this thread too. Think the blue Kors ones were quite a surprise.

I was going to say weekend, but actually maybe the week is better. I am easy either way.

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2012 14:03

Amber every time I buy something dh asks what it costs (which I half) and he says that could be a new bike.

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2012 14:03

halve. Actually it wouldn't be a new bike.
