Fillers, botox etc have you had any, if not why not?

I had my lips done recently, it was cheap and effective and v painful, but no pain no gain right Hmm.
Genuine question, why don't more people have it done? Are you all happy with the way you look? I can't imagine not having something that i thought needed changing.

Yes im happySmile

bristolcities · 06/03/2012 17:51

That's great, i assumed everyone had things they think they could improve.

Ragwort · 06/03/2012 17:53

err............ never even considered it, hope people like me for who I am not what I look like, am perfectly happy with my appearance Grin - could do with losing a few a lot pounds but this is within my own control.

cazza40 · 06/03/2012 17:55

Botox for last 5 years or so and Juvederm filler for lines round my mouth - both have made a big difference particularly the Juvederm. Cannot see myself stopping it now

Lulumama · 06/03/2012 17:56

Yes, I am happy enough.

I have plenty of friends who've had stuff done and I know who I'd go to if I had anything done.... BUT I cannot get the nagging feeling out of my mind of 'what if it goes wrong' it's your FACE. that everyone sees every day. I am bad enough when I don't like my hair cut/colour, never mind stuff being put in to actually change the shape or appearance of my face

however, without wishing to sound arrogant, I have a fairly ok face. Big eyes, not hooded , just strting with a few fine lines, but nothing major, nice even mouth with fairly good plumpness so i wouldn't want to mess with a face that is fine.

maybe if i was uber wrinkled /lined , i would be more inclined to ignore the nagging voice

i would LOVE a breast lift/reduction but the pain and the risks put me off, I am sure my DH and children would prefer me alive with saggy boobs than dead with nice pert ones

just too much risk for me, but maybe I am very risk averse

Lulumama · 06/03/2012 17:57

I could improve my looks by getting back on the skinny wagon and reducing my bum etc.. although i partly think that being on the plump side has stretched everything so no wrinkles Grin

I should have horrendous skin, lots of sunbathing as a child and a burnt nose every summer, loads of smoking as a teen /early 20s, never drink enough water.

fbnomore · 06/03/2012 18:00

the thought of having poison filled into my face to appease the social mores of our society fills the feminist in me with horror.
however
although i am now at an age where many women regularly get stuff done, i dont need to yet, good genetics coupled with good moisturiser and staying out of the sun. Ask me when i am concerned about the lines around my mouth, i might have a different answer.

KateSpade · 06/03/2012 18:01

No Botox/fillers as I'm only 23, but I had anaesthetic injected into my forehead and that was more painful than labour. For serious, I had an easy labour but that hurt like nothing I've ever experienced, similar to Botox I can imagine.

I want a boob job, and am trying to find away how I can financially afford it..... Any ideas?

ameliagrey · 06/03/2012 18:01

A touch of Perlane ( like Restylane) in my cheeks a year ago- was getting sliding cheeks and it just lifted them slightly.

Hurt like mad but was okay after a week Shock

Will probably have it repeated. I have no wrinkles but sagging is not a good look.

bristolcities · 06/03/2012 18:01

I think my face is pretty good too but just not perfect. I got this thing in my head about my philtrum Hmm and so had my top lip done. I actually don't think I will ever be happy. Sounds really cheesy but i do think it's about looking through magazines. For example I had my hair coloured the other day and whilst at the hair dressers saw an article with beautiful pics about Gemma Arterton and wanted/was planning my next hair cut/colour before i left.

I've had my lips done loads of times but the last time it hurt so much that I don't think I'm going to get it done again, well not for a while. It's not really cheap at £300! I've got to thinking there are currently better things to spend my money on.

No botox yet as I don't need it (yet!)

VeniVidiVisa · 06/03/2012 18:02

Having just had my passport photos done today, I know that the only acceptable face that I have got is the one in my mind - and no amount of fillers & freezing is going to achieve that Grin

On a serious note, I'd just rather spend my money on other things.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 06/03/2012 18:03

Yes, Botox for migraine. Brilliant.

Botox for my dystonic finger has been great.

AngryFeet · 06/03/2012 18:10

I'm only 33 so everything is pretty much hanging in there. However I will never have anything done. I would be too freaked out by the idea of surgery or botox because of possible problems/side effects. I can't stand the idea of having poison injected into me and I would never have unnecessary surgery.

I hope to age gracefully. I do already have rings around my neck and lines on my cleavage but I am not too bothered. I have a good skin care routine and my skin is good and no wrinkles yet but I am not bothered by the thought of them.

I think I will get highlights to cover grey until I feel it doesn't suit me anymore.

I haven't seen any women with 'work done' who didn't look a bit odd IMO so I won't be messing with what I was given :)

bristolcities · 06/03/2012 18:16

I'm only 25! I read an interview with Myleen Klass, she said she was offered a hundred thousand pounds worth of cosmetic surgery just for mentioning a company. She said NO! I know I would go mad on a hundred grands worth, I'd end up looking like the cat lady.

countessbabycham · 06/03/2012 18:18

Can't afford it.Absolutely would if I could.

JasperJohns · 06/03/2012 18:23

I have had Botox once. I hated my number 11s which were getting very pronounced and I looked permanently cross. The Botox has also eliminated every line on my forehead, although I can still move it.

Added bonus - I haven't had a single headache since October.

DefiniteMaybe · 06/03/2012 18:23

I haven't and wouldn't risk anyone putting stuff into my body for the sake of looking "beautiful". The recent breast implant thing should be enough to put people off.
My children and oh love me. People don't run away from me screaming. I'll do.

niminypiminy · 06/03/2012 18:27

Never, never, never.

Why have unneccessary pain and surgery? I'm sure I'll have had more than my fair share of both by the time I get to my deathbed.

Will I be lying there thinking, well, I wish I'd had more stuff done to my face? Will I heck.

And it's not that I'm not vain, I do spend more than enough time thinking about what I look like.

bristolcities · 06/03/2012 18:32

The pain doesn't bother me but my long philtrum really does??

OP posts:
Takemeout · 06/03/2012 18:53

I've convinced myself in twenty years time they will all look like Joan rivers, and i will just look like me.

I will however dye my hair to cover my grey!

mosschops30 · 06/03/2012 18:59

I used to have botox in forehead and crows feet, i loved it Smile
i would deffo have fillers too.

Unfortunately can afford neither at the moment, so have a fringe instead Hmm

mosschops30 · 06/03/2012 19:00

Oh but i would never ever have cosmetic surgery!
