I had my lips done recently, it was cheap and effective and v painful, but no pain no gain right Hmm.
Genuine question, why don't more people have it done? Are you all happy with the way you look? I can't imagine not having something that i thought needed changing.

I'm not setting out to be rude, but I am getting tired of so many people saying that they have not seen anyone i RL who looks normal after some light work being done! If I didn't want to remain anon I'd post a pic here. Grin

FWIW the dr I see has work done too on herself- I#d never have known- as do many of her staff- again, I'd never have guessed.

The point is, if you can really see that people have had something done, it's been overdone!

I don't know why people don't read the whole thread before posting with mistaken ideas.

I'm 40 and starting to notice lines and wrinkles now. I think I will have some bits done, not so every line is erased but so that they just don't look so pronounced.

I have chickens and live in a rural area - do you think I'll be refused treatment? Wink

countessbabycham · 07/03/2012 18:49

MissBeehiving its a foregone conclusion...

Shock Shock Shock

THAT'S DISCRIMINATION, THAT IS Wink

countessbabycham · 07/03/2012 18:58

Tell me when you go then. We'll have a whip round so I can go too,and we'll start a little campaign and fight the chicken keepers corner Wink

amelia I think one question which has been raised is how about after they've been having it for years I'm sure they all set out to have light work initially, but how about when it wears off (cinderella face) and then they carry on...
eventually it will be out of synch with rest of their face and look odd. It is therefore potentially a short term fix but ill thought through IMVHO because ageing is going to happen (to the rest of a person.)

miss beehiving I imagine your chickens would love you irrespective of your wrinkles Wink

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 07/03/2012 19:24

Thank you countess , it won't be chicken feed, you know and you shoudn't egg me on.

noddyholder · 07/03/2012 19:25

It depends what the rest of your face is like I have good firm skin but 3 deep forehead lines. With them lessened i do look better. I think a good doctor tailors it. If the rest of my face started to look older i would have less

countessbabycham · 07/03/2012 19:28

Oh well,if you're going to chicken out MissBeehiving then thats up to you...

ameliagrey · 07/03/2012 22:39

sandy it doesn't work like that though!

You don't have one bit of your face done so it looks out of place with al l the other bits. ie a 20 yr old forehead and an 80 year old set of jowls.

The best drs use a range of products to tweak each area of your face, so it all matches! There are loads of different fillers etc and they are for different areas.

The overall effect is to make you look a little less tired- not as if you have been in a wind tunnel!

Bienchen · 07/03/2012 23:04

Yes, of course they can tailor your face but somehow age will show up on your neck and bust. And on your hands, etc. Unless you are prepared to have improvements done all over, some parts of your body will always show signs of age.

I don't think I would seriously consider it for myself. I have had enough surgery to last me a lifetime (following an accident) and I have learned to live with my "battle scars" and the damage that could not be repaired. Funnily enough, I was very self conscious of it initially but when I meet new people now, they don't even notice.

Whilst I could afford some work now, the long term commitment of having to have procedures again and again is rather off putting to me and of course the costs associated every time. If I did not have the funds time and time again, that could be a real blow. Quite frankly, now that the mortgage is paid off I am quite happy to be without another fairly regular largish spend.

Am quite happy though to spend on hair, skincare & make up, good quality accessories, etc but equally happy to park my indulgences if I feel the money ought to go elsewhere.

noddyholder · 07/03/2012 23:08

I am not bothered about looking younger as you say age is an allover thing but a really light touch of botox looks rested. I don,t mind my hands etc. My neck is good though ATM. I am happy to age but no to look haggard
