Where the hell do you all find jeans?

I went to the Hillfiger outlet today which is where i bought the last two pairs from, and have worn them to death, but they had nothing!
So now im left with two scabby pairs from next that ive had for about 6 years.

Any tips on buying some really nice, not overpriced jeans.

Im a size 8/10, like a slim leg or nice (not mumsy) bootcut

I have never been on a Sunday, went on a Saturday, and one day during the summer hols, but since then I have taken a half day's leave and gone on a Wednesday morning or something (it is not a million miles from where I work).

Agreed GetOrf Bicester well worth the trip. As well as the high end designer they have French Connection, Hobbs, Ralph Lauren, Cath Kidston, Molton Brown, UGGS, French Sole, LK Bennett etc. etc. etc. It's an hour and a bit trip for me mosschops but well worth it and a good day out. Agree re: avoiding on a Saturday as it does get busy but because it is an American Mall style shopping experience with shops down pedestrian streets it feels much less claustrophobic than some of the big shopping centres. Let us know if you go!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 21/02/2012 09:58

It is also nothing like those Macarthhur Glen crappo outlets, or the ones in Swindon and Gloucester. Those kind of places are a waste of time imo.

It is really well designed as well - very pretty. And outside which makes for a nicer shopping experience imo (I hate indoor malls).

I seriously want to go to Bicester! I'm determined to get there this year! In the meantime, if you can get to a Joseph (I go to the Westfield one), they do have fabulous jeans sales. As I said up thread, I got three pairs of 7 For AllMankind for £150. I got their slim bootcut (more like straights), a pair of pale grey flares (great for summer with wedges) and a pair of dark skinnies. Obviously it's a bit hit and miss with the sizes / leg length but can't argue with £150!

It looks amazing, but i will be gutted if i drive for 2 hrs and theres nothing there Hmm
i hate mcarthur glen, its great for the kids stuff but nothing for me, most of the shops resemble jumble sales.
It says on the web its open til 7pm on sunday? Is that right? I thought everything had to be closed by 5pm on sundays

We live quite close to Bicester and I very rarely buy anything from there. It does stay open until 7 but not all the shops will be open. I think some of them open later so that they can close later (6pm).

GetOrfMoiiLand · 21/02/2012 13:56

TBH if you live a trek away I would go to Bicester on the way to somewhere else, say if you went to Oxford and went to Bicester village on the way back.

I find Paige and James Jeans have the best fit for my shape.

alwaysrunninginheels · 21/02/2012 14:41

Another vote for james, 7's and j brand....and paige too!!!
Great bargains on james website at the mo. Slim and skinny legs for £50 with great customer service, no postage charges and the jeans are fab!!!
jamesjeans.co.uk/Site/Default.aspx

And they use a delivery company that lets you leave them in a "safe place"....always gets my vote rather than the horrid companies that don't ever let you speak to a person and won't leave them with anyone else...oh and that involve an 80 mile round collection trip....oppps rant over!!!

mosschops30 · 21/02/2012 14:57

Some of those jeans are lovely, but only great bargains if you have a 25 inch waist or a 31 inch waist.
Sadly i am neither!
Thats what bothers me about going to Bicester, is the outlet full of obscure sizes?

Gap 1969's - -

ProfCoxWouldGetIt · 21/02/2012 15:03

Have a look at ASOS.com, I've bought about 8 pairs there recently, and I love them all. Reasonably priced and a great fit.

mosschops30 · 21/02/2012 16:18

Which styles did you buy from asos?

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 21/02/2012 16:20

Mosschops - I'm a 32" waist 32 or 34 leg and I walked out with 4 pairs of Seven FAM jeans ahem nothing

mosschops30 · 21/02/2012 16:38

Dont spose you noticed if they had many 28 waist 32 legs?
I could phone them and ask

OP posts:
yellowraincoat · 21/02/2012 16:39

Have you tried American Apparel? I love their jeans.

Asinine · 21/02/2012 16:44

OP

How much is overpriced? I find fat face last longer than New Look, although they're twice the price.

mosschops30 · 21/02/2012 16:51

I dont mind paying up to £100 for an amazing pair.
But would be happier with £50/£60 obviously Smile

by overpriced i meant VB/7FAM for £200 a pair Shock

River Island do the best jeans, well, in my opinion. :o)

shopafrolic · 21/02/2012 21:26

Mosschops - You can call all the stores at Bicester and get them to check stock before you travel. The guy in 7FAM is really helpful.
