Sick of boots. What shoes do you wear for every day?

I cant wear ballet flats for too long as the soles of my feet get too painfull. I cant totter about in heels. What do you wear to go shopping/lunch in. For the first time in a long time, I need to sort my shoe situation out! Smile

These are ok - they might give me a gnome-like resemblance though. Would have to try them on... As I would these

I'm still not really answering the brief though - that being NOT A BOOT. (I've found about a thousand nice boots though during the course of this exercise Sad ) I'm also appreciating that I might not have everyone's requirements in mind being that my work shoes are a pair of felt Camper slippers....

ViviPru · 22/02/2012 18:28

Link fail. That second link should have been this

rockinastocking · 22/02/2012 18:57

grail

rockinastocking · 22/02/2012 18:59

That was supposed to be a link to Fly Yoni wedges.

I've spent all winter in them. Only heels I've been able to wear in my life.

shopafrolic · 22/02/2012 19:18

ViviPru I've always found Zara shoes so uncomfortable!
I have requested an invite to Pinterest - a waiting list?

BonfireOfKleenex · 22/02/2012 19:26

I like Fly Yoni wedges. (Although they too have a very snigger-worthy name. Grin )

ViviPru · 22/02/2012 19:37

Oh yes shopafrolic - the Pinterest invite thing is a massive pain. I can send you an invite if you like - just PM me your email address

Never had Zara shoes, good tip off though.

SickOnMyShoulder · 22/02/2012 19:51

As far as I'm concerned these M&S shoeboots are the perfect mid-season shoe. Stylish, comfortable and go with trousers or skirts, as well as thinner and thicker tights. I've bought them in both colours before I share them on Mumsnet Grin

I like these too [http://www.hushpuppies.com/UK/en-GB/Product.mvc.aspx/26477W/0/Womens/Westbury?dimensions=0 hush puppy flats]]

ViviPru · 22/02/2012 19:58

Too high and too smart for me, those sick Sad

I do have these though, which are not quite so high and not quite so smart. Bit black for spring though (and damn narrow.)

londonlottie · 22/02/2012 21:09

Another one who's always found Zara shoes uncomfortable. Thanks to whoever linked to the Hudson site, I bought these today which I'm hoping will replace the stupidly overpriced pair of similar ones I bought from net-a-porter on a desperate whim.

Vivi - I love most of the shoes/boots you linked to. I have wide feet though, tis becoming such a bloody bind. Am starting to get this 'thing' where my toes get really painful if I wear shoes/boots with any constriction at all. And I don't mean by wearing winklepickers either... anything other than a Cornish pasty shoe seems to do it sometimes. Hmm

londonlottie · 22/02/2012 21:13

PS: Vivi - am also spectacularly failing to move from the boot to the shoe...

shopafrolic · 22/02/2012 21:24

londonlottie glad you liked the Hudson link. I bought the same but in tan. RE: width - Shoe stretcher has helped me before.
Spray inside shoes and pack them overnight with socks or paper. Gives you a few extra mm to move around in at least. You can buy it in Timpsons.

londonlottie · 22/02/2012 21:41

shopafrolic - :) thanks for the tip! How are the boots? Am a bit nervous it says they need taking care of on the site; hoping that doesn't mean they're ridiculously high maintenance. They are so much cheaper than the almost identical pair of Isabel Marant boots I bought in a fit of idiocy and I'm hoping these ones convince me to send the IM ones back.

Off to Google Timpsons...

ViviPru · 22/02/2012 23:29

londonlottie I fear I'm starting to have the same problem. Those River Island shoeboots I linked to before are really pushing the limit for me, widthwise...

runningforthebusinheels · 22/02/2012 23:53

quenelle and dingbats, I really like those Fly ones - thank you.

londonlottie · 23/02/2012 07:36

shop - am definitely going to buy some of that spray. Do you know if you can use it on suede?

Vivi - mine actually has a name, thanks to my mother who informs me she has it too and can now only wear ballet flats or Fit Flops/trainers - it's Morton's neuroma. I've even had a couple of steroid injections into the foot to stop the pain. Sigh. I am so fecking old and decrepit.

shopafrolic · 23/02/2012 08:25

Morning London - I'm still waiting for my boots - they've been despatched so may come today. Will let everyone know........ I'll be very Blush if they turn out to be rubbish as I have recommended the site lots on MN!
Shoe stretcher also sold in Clarks according to this:
www.clarks.co.uk/Product/ProductsClarksShoeCareAccessories
and apparently can be used on suede but check the label as I never have

shopafrolic · 23/02/2012 09:12

ViviPru am now on Pinterest! Username with a 1 after it as someone had already stolen my name Angry.

londonlottie · 23/02/2012 09:20

Blush Yes I re-read your message yesterday and realised you may have only just ordered them...

God it's tempting to break in my IM boots while waiting for these to show up. I am so impatient.

Am also on Pinterest but previously have mainly used it for house stuff... not sure I need the encouragement re. shoes/bags/etc. :)

ViviPru · 23/02/2012 09:26

Great hat!!!!

Quenelle · 23/02/2012 09:54

You're welcome running. I've decided the Yoni are the answer for me. I even found some new ones in my size for a good price on ebay. Just hope they still have them come payday next week.

shopafrolic · 23/02/2012 10:31

Thanks Vivi!

runningforthebusinheels · 23/02/2012 13:31

I've ordered them in dark brown patent Quenelle - reduced to £40.63.

Quenelle · 23/02/2012 14:05

Ooh well done running. That's half price!

They are expensive at full price but they last for years. I've had my other two pairs of Fly shoes for 4 and 5 years. And a pair of wedge ankle boots for 4 years.
