I am loving this look and have seen similar in new look/topshop - anyone going to try it this spring?

Oh and I'm not 18 or 5ft 10 before anyone says that I need to be to wear them Wink

Agree that age has nothing to do with it. Do think one needs a reasonably preserved body and face to really pull off the look though (you pass with flying colours MrsCB).

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/01/2012 20:08

Love that Dexter Smile

It is funny though as I did feel very self-conscious and a bit 'oooh everyone look at me'.

Yes DH was a goth and honestly all the looks/women he ever says are attractive are the polar opposite of me. When I mentioned pleather leggings he was keen provided they were co-ordinated with a matching corset top - I mean seriously - has he met me?

Zembo you are too kind and just remember photos you have seen are ahem about 10 years old Wink

My friend sent it to me a couple of months ago for some reason -I have no red trousers, neither does she! It is quite funny!
I love all the coloured jeans around at the moment, but for me, because of dd and all her friends wearing them, I feel that I would just look a bit like I was trying to copy them. If you have no teenage dd's to be compared to, then I think they do look nice. I prefer the brights to the pastels though.

monkeysmama · 20/01/2012 20:27

What did you wear with the red jeans, MrsCB? Glad you've ordered the lavender ones. Await a report back.

KristinaM · 20/01/2012 20:28

I have red trouers and wore them a lot last summer.several women stopped me to ask where i bought them. they are not skinnies, more capris and tailored but not tight fittimg

trixymalixy · 20/01/2012 20:28

I prefer the brights to the pastels too, I quite like the maroon skinnies that have been around and saw some cornflower blue ones that were nice, but the pastels are not for me.

Emo76 · 20/01/2012 21:13

I like them, think you could style in lots of different ways.

MrsCampbellBlack · 21/01/2012 07:51

I wore ivory silk shirt and leopard print belt (fully embraced the rod stewart vibe) and my acne pistol rip-off ankle boots www.johnlewis.com/283938/Product.aspx

Mrs CB - Can you assure me that they do NOT fit quite like this before I order?? I don't think they are doing the model any favours there!

MrsCampbellBlack · 21/01/2012 08:40

No they look better than that in RL - definitely.

So can imagine you're all waiting with bated breath to hear about lavender jeans Wink

And - they're really lovely. Gorgeous colour and very flattering. Tried with my swedish hasbeens and an ivory coloured t-shirt and looked good.

What colour are your KG ankle boots mrs CB? Im strugglimg to gte my head around practical winter footwear and lavender legs

henrythecat · 21/01/2012 12:47

Glad to hear the lavender jeans are a success. Can I ask what coloured hasbeens you are putting with them?

For those looking for cheaper option, although not lavender I was thinking of getting these rose pink skinnies from topshop so see if my thighs can cope with pale denim. Anyone tried any Leighs?

KristinaM · 21/01/2012 12:48

Oops i see im confused, lavender jeans are worn with hasbeens and red ones with KG boots. So no plans to wear lavender ones until the Spring?

Fregley · 21/01/2012 12:52

I love your fashion threads cb. Did you link to the jeans you got? Missed. Love lavender with silver and White in summer, great for brunettes.

I got the top shop spot trews. A bit high waisted but lovely. Want to team with cheap spikey pointed toe kitten heels in a an 80s flashback but can't find any pointy enogh

MrsCampbellBlack · 21/01/2012 13:18

Yes Kristina - will keep lavender for spring I think. And have the black ankle boots for winter.

I've got leighs in navy Henry and really like them - very comfy and nice and high waisted for holding in purposes. I thought they'd look awful as they are super skinny but I actually think they're more flattering than baxters and the jamies do nothing for me.

Fregley - these but I had voucher so not quite so much as that.

I love Leighs too. I now have the (maternity) grey and blue denim ones and they keep their shape all day. They're almost as good as the J Brands I paid over £200 for. Wash well too.

noddyholder · 21/01/2012 13:41

I am too fair for lavender but am going to try the marks blue ones. Think they would be great with plimsolls in summer.Peacocks have some skinny in great colours

noddyholder · 21/01/2012 13:45

t shirt you need this if you like stripes but have boobs

Fregley · 21/01/2012 14:04

I have electric bue skinnies. Rarely wear due to matching issues

noddyholder · 21/01/2012 14:06

I like with white and have old blue ballet pumps which I always dig out. I have darkish pink chinos which I wore all summer last year from zara. Lavender lovely but not on me. I still love my liz hurleys Grin

Dauphin · 21/01/2012 14:40

I am getting quite into the 'coloured jean' thing....spent the winter wearing plum and tan skinny cords... I do like white skinnies too, Noddy

Fregley · 21/01/2012 14:41

Lyou and me both. I love fancy trews. Ut prob is that unless you standing up at a bar all night you onlybsee the (normally) black top you match it. With
Am out tonight. Am wearing the ace ltd. Collection top I got In Sales.
