I am loving this look and have seen similar in new look/topshop - anyone going to try it this spring?

Oh and I'm not 18 or 5ft 10 before anyone says that I need to be to wear them Wink

Same here Lizzy. I could not show my arse in those. Woudl look like a lilac space hopper

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/01/2012 19:54

Well am on strict diet as have school reunion in about 8 days so was worried the lack of food was sending me even more mutton than usual.

I am going to wait for the top shop ones to come back into stock and then order.

My bum is ok - its tummy and muffin top that are my problem areas.

Love them, somehow a fresh take. Tempted, even.

noddyholder · 19/01/2012 19:56

They have them in uniqlo too

henrythecat · 19/01/2012 20:03

Lizzy - definitely! And as long as we stop listening to the FALSE MESSAGE OF LETHARGY! Wink Everytime I have to choose between stairs or the lift I hear her screaming that in my head!

OtterNonsense · 19/01/2012 20:05

I have jade green skinnies and cherry red staight leg jeans. Love them and get loads of compliments when I wear them.

I am 43. Blush

cyb · 19/01/2012 20:12

I agree age has absolutely nothing to do with it. But a cottage cheese arse is not going to work that look

Lizzylou · 19/01/2012 20:14

Cyb, my colleagues were laughing t'other day when I descibed my derriere as two tesco carriers full of cottage cheese.

They have never seen the full horror, I am mistress of disguise.

cyb · 19/01/2012 20:16

Apparently those exercise bands are the answers to all our arse problems. I have three, in varying shades, sitting idly in a drawer

fazsaeed · 19/01/2012 20:18

Wow they are nice!
I'm
19 and havent got a pair lol.
I do want a pair of coloured jeans pastel blue or red maybe. Hmmm.

P.s
My mums 40 and wears converse lol.
Oh and toms.
And VOI

Lol

OtterNonsense · 19/01/2012 20:20

I've got one of those, cyb. It's wrapped around the box of Christmas tree decorations because the lid wouldn't stay shut. Very useful. Not going to have much effect on my behind though.

BendyBob · 19/01/2012 20:21

I'd look like Austin Powers in lavender jeansSad

Lizzylou · 19/01/2012 20:23

I was reading about those bands today, promises an arse like a supermodel apparently.
That would look wierd if the rest of me is still plumptious though, right? A pert bum with humungous hips and thighs, bit of a waste.

Catsmamma · 19/01/2012 20:28

I'd avoid the pastels....my nanna loved a pastel ensemble, round neck jumper, matching (or occasionally a complementary colour) cardigan AND crimplene slacks

Peacocks also have a LOT of these jeans in jewel colours.

KristinaM · 19/01/2012 20:44

I Already have a supermodels arse. And a hideous muffin top. But i heart lavender....

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/01/2012 20:59

With a supermodels arse - no one will be looking at muffin top.

Was at a denim thing last week where they said actually muffin top sign that your jeans fit well - yeap and I am so going with that view Wink

DukesOfTripHazard · 19/01/2012 20:59

Catsmama yy the Peacocks ones are a tremendous range of fab colours and cheap but did nothing for my flubberous legs. Like worse than nothing. I can do Uniqlo and Levi demi curve skinnies fairly acceptably but these... not happening. Try 'em if you have better sausages for the skins tho gals.

KristinaM · 19/01/2012 21:22

I like that theory mrs CB
If only i had a supermoggels face to match my arse...

SixtyFootDoll · 19/01/2012 21:41

Mine were from peacocks, skinnyw ankle grazers in electric blue, £16!

RedwingWinter · 19/01/2012 22:09

I love them!

I have bright purple skinnies already. I quite fancy a pair in a pale yellow or apricot.

WinterGoddess · 20/01/2012 12:18

I'm loving the wedges with the skinnies - Nice!

Pseudonymity · 20/01/2012 12:53

I don't know why people think that the look in the Donna Ida link is too young. I don't see many 18-year-olds dressed like that. It is surely a late 20s and above look? Or am I missing something?

dexter73 · 20/01/2012 13:36

Maybe it just depends where you live. Here all the teenagers wear coloured jeans and snoods.

Dauphin · 20/01/2012 14:26

Love them. A great alternative to the white jean. I would wear them-in fact..... no, I'm not buying spring stuff yet... Can just imagine them with a skinny stripe navy top and battered Superga's....and do like the Donna Ida website.

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/01/2012 19:45

Right so wore red skinnies today and was complimented in the playground on them but DH very unsure. But this is a man whose idea of a style icon is Kate Beckinsale in some dodgy vampire film I was forced to watch the other night Hmm

So as I have a voucher for Donna Ida - have ordered and will see. Have a feeling that paler denim needs to be a bit thicker than the New Look ones.

And on the subject of new look - its such an irritating shop in that actually the cut of their stuff is often really good like my aged pleather jacket and these red skinnies but the quality is just so poor. I mean I had to take the scissors to areas where you don't really want scissors near as there were threads galore.
