New thread.

Oh all this talk of babies and lovely bump wear is making me broody! So exciting this new crop of babies!!!

AntPants1 · 08/01/2012 19:13

Am feeling crap. Am not going to shred tonight. Have bought this leopard cardigan in the pure sale to cheer me up. www.purecollection.com/.Cashmere-Animal-Print-Cardigan_LK-D28.htm

Oh and update on the ash boots i bought in the my wardrobe sale...www.my-wardrobe.com/ash/eps-mid-wedge-ankle-boot-837996. The zip has broken. So picture the scene...I have cystitis and am taking DD to her swimming lesson this morning. The zip on my boot sort of exploded....so there I am throbbing bladder and just the one boot on. The glamour of my life. Anyway I mention this not to get sympathy but to tell you that my wardrobe customer services were amazing.. I called them to explain what happened. New pair winging it's way to me. Was impressed- was expecting to have to return the boots, have them looked at, then offered a replacement or repair and was expecting the whole thing take weeks.

MidnightinMoscow · 08/01/2012 19:21

Oh Ants what a nightmare, but good that MW were on the ball. Yes, nice to talk about bumps and babies but think of the indigestion, varicose veins and being examined during a contraction. Grin

Portia4 · 08/01/2012 19:26

Ants so sorry to hear that you're poorly, great customer service from My.

I can definitely recommend getting a good biker jacket, I have two, one has a fur trim and is slightly more glam than the other, and on a per wear basis definitely worth the money.

Marsha well done on your shoe purchase, I too would love to see your work, can you please pm me the link?

Went to see Mil today, could not believe the number of hikers in the mountains, lots of new year resolutions I reckon!

I bought coated navy skinnies from Pinko last year and wore them alot, Massimo Dutti have have really nice oxblood ones at the moment.

Did anyone else buy the Wedge ankle boots from MD? They really have not worn well with lots of cracks in the soles.

Ollie hope that you are better tomorrow.

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2012 19:31

The Acne boots definitely passed your Roxy test ollie, practically skipped home from Matches! Other items to pass the test recently are:
McQueen scarves
J Brands (assorted)
Mulberry fox necklace
Oasis biker

Think we may have an outbreak of chicken pox in the house; DS has spots on his leg and up one side. He does have a history of odd rashes though, and no spots have appeared since this morning so we will see. Have kept him in today as a precaution, but fingers crossed he seems well in himself. If it is CP I am hoping against hope the baby gets off lightly, as nights are hard enough without adding illness into the mix! Thanks for all the support/suggestions, will persevere with the cot move a little longer and if things don't improve I may consider a sleep consultant.

Count me in for MU (assuming DD plays ball this time, but she'll be 8.5mo by then so hopefully!) - can someone add me to list, as pretty sure iPad will lose my post if I C&P!

Well done on the Marants marsha!

Hope you're all having lovely Sundays!

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2012 19:33

Be so great to meet you. Wimbledon has an amazing high st btw. MIM you were right lovely cafes, we sat downstairs at Paul.

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2012 19:43

My Roxy Test passes are:

Marant heels. Have wanted Marant heels for an age and whooped when they had them in a 40. Like Amber I practically skipped out of that shop.

Stella M big shop. I felt light and dizzy after that one. The bag was so big I could carry ds2 around in it at home.

Kors heels - although no discount, but I do love them.

Red Halston cashmere dress - need to wear it again.

Now I think about it nearly everything...

AmberNectarine · 08/01/2012 19:54

Ah, marsha, that was Wimbledon Village, Wimbledon high street is down the hill, and a lot more, well, high street. Think Greggs and Claire's Accessories. The Village is lovely, and I am very lucky to live as near as I do, though having been so spoilt we don't want to move away so will have a couple more years of saving to afford a bigger house here. If only I could find a spare million quid down the side of the sofa...

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2012 19:59

Oh yes. The Village, it's so lovely. I don't blame you for wanting to stay, I bet it won't take long to get to move to somewhere bigger.

Portia will pm... Smile

Zembo · 08/01/2012 20:02

Portia thanks very much for the MD wedge boots feedback - I considered them as an alternative to the very similar Gerard Darel ones I've been wanting for ages. Decided against both of them in the end as have been happy with my winter footwear choices. Having said that I've ordered some shoes and some shearling lined boots from the NAP sale -taking an age to arrive!

MIM I love coat/jackets and shoes/boots more than any other items of clothing. Storage space is a big issue for me as I hold onto shoes/coats (and handbags) much longer than other clothing, possibly because I spend a fair bit on them. Your hypnotising thing sounds like a lovely thing to do. I did sonic stimulation (music for the unborn child CDs) - I'm convince it contributed to DD being breach - think I was playing the music too loud Blush

Hopefully · 08/01/2012 20:14

MIM I have absolutely no idea which colour Agnes I'm getting! I told my friend I wanted either olive or brown, and gave her free reign beyond that - she was sale shopping, so was just going to get the cheapest pair she could find. It'll be a nice surprise (I hope) when I open them.

Am obeying to clear space/fund new stuff. I am up to a whopping £6.19 already, with 9 days to run. At this rate I'll be able to shun the Roxy and buy a Theory leather jacket... Grin

IceCreamCastles · 08/01/2012 20:36

Hmmm - I am a bit sad that I can't think any items that pass the roxy test.

I think it's a combination of having tastes beyond my budget (which is, in reality, high street with occasional splurges) and never really being happy with how I look figure wise . Will try to sort out both issues post baby.

Shhh MiM please don't remind me about the examinations (worst bit IMO) and all your preparations are making me feel scared! I am in denial. Hope you get the roxy - keep dropping those hints. You definitely deserve it after a hard pregnancy.

Right - need to do some ironing. Am watching Dancing on Ice on ITV+1 Blush

pickledsiblings · 08/01/2012 20:43

icey, you bought a great navy blazer from Zara iirc and looked fab in it.

Fleecy · 08/01/2012 20:55

I am the same icey - definite high street budget for most things, the cheaper the better so it leaves more for the splurges. Also a big fan of eBay.

Nice to see someone else de-lurking hopefully

I put the carry cot away today and felt a little pang that I will never need to use it again. My parents used it for me and my sister and I have used it for all three of mine.

oh amber I'm sorry about the lack of sleep. It really is hard isn't it?! DD1 used to wake every 1.5/2 hrs until she was 6mo and she was ff!

everything have wondered about those Levis myself. They do look very nice. Have given in to peer pressure and bought the Whistles navy skinnies after all the hype. Have also done an H&M order made up of 12 items that didn't cost that much more than the jeans by themselves. So they will have to be lovely to stay! I guess that'll be me done for January if I have a few keepers. Apart from the MK watch which DH said I can order this month as it's showing as low stock on JL. Will have to pay him back in February!

Oh NYE - must be hard. Is DS still napping during the day? DS was doing similar, although not quite so spectacularly, and we had to bring an end to naps. If not, hope it's a very short-lived phase.

I think everyone should get a Roxy! You know, MiM I had forgotten about the pea coat - put away in a hurry pre-plastering. Shall wear tomorrow.

Ollie love The Roxy Test and shall adopt as my mantra I think. If I don't love it, I will not be buying it this year.

Marsha that is very sweet of you and would love it, but don't feel guilted into passing/selling it on! If yu dn't mind bringing it along to the MU, I'd love to giv it a whirl.

Agree Wimbledon Village lovely. My first step-dad (long story, sure I've explained in the past) lives there and it is gorgeous. Always enjoy a visit.

A post-baby wardrobe cull and shopping expedition in order for you I reckon Icey.

Have spent the eveniing steaming and stripping wallpaper after we remembered the living room is being plastered tomorrow. So disorganised. Am hot and exhausted, but found myself enjoying it rather a lot. Like covering your hands in PVA in an art lesson and spending the day peeling it off, but on a larger scale (please tell me I'm not the only one to have done this?!)

amber sorry to hear about possible pox. Actually babies having it is not too bad. (much easier than my DD getting a 3 S she could not understand whynshe could not go to the park etc and got horredous cabin fever...) My DS got it at 5 months and I just gave him lots of calpol which kept him calm and kept him in sleep suits (with calomile smothered on underneath) as meant he could not scratch. He was only ill for a out 4 days. So fingers crossed if it is chicken pox that is what happens to you.
