Sounds like a great night. Red, hope you weren't too tired to make it to Whistles today! I had a teething baby awake last night too, and DD1 looking for juice, tissues, a hug, water ....

Well done, Marsha's DS.

Ollie :o

Emo, you always look lovely in your photos. I'd also like a nepresso. I bought DH a shirt, a couple of CDs, Brora wrist warmers and a bottle of port.

NY, I wonder will your colleagues be mortified on Monday or is it the start of something beautiful!

carciofi · 18/12/2011 15:59

Rufus, I see from FB we know someone else in common, initials AL, in the same field as you. She used to live close by me in London and we regularly trecked to the Kings rd with babies in tow!

Russianred · 18/12/2011 16:33

Hope the party went well today WAN and very sorry about your gift Ollie - you'll look at it and laugh in time to come though, am sure. It'll end up being memorable for other reasons and take on a new significance iykwim.

Oh poor leopard lady, I'd forgotten about her. You're right Annie, she did cut quite a lonely figure.

Never too tired for Whistles - DH and I went for a coffee and a browse without the kids, as my Mum watched them for an hour. We held hands, which we never do with buggies/walking DS etc. Was lovely. We have made. Big pact with one another to try a bit harder, starting today. I bout a stripy jumper from the new collection. Will link in a bit.

Russianred · 18/12/2011 16:34

And Carciofi, my biggest sympathies on the sleepless night - hope tonight is better.

pickledsiblings · 18/12/2011 16:42

Came across this thread that spawned the first ever W&A thread when searching for info about turkeys, don't ask Grin.

.

Lovely to see Marsha, Fleecy and MrsCB on there, and Bonsoir too. There is even an inaugeral post from Ollie Smile.

blossoming · 18/12/2011 16:50

Is it the not buying anything thread? Cannot believe the W&A ladies who were on that! Come on... No purchasing???

Classic, can you say who you were? Marsha, you're funny in your post baby blur, you keep posting your luscious links on the wrong thread Smile.

Russianred · 18/12/2011 18:55

That thread is hilarious. Strange somehow to see all of the names of those who no longer post.

I neglected to mention that I bought this FC jumper yesterday.

Russianred · 18/12/2011 18:57

And this is the Whistles jumper. Would it work for you WAN after the disappointment of the Jigsaw one?

MarshaBrady · 18/12/2011 19:44

That's nice Red.

Haha Pickled and that thread, funny to see my old posts. Made me cringe / smile.

Skim read it, but I liked that Carciofi, I think, who said I can't do this Grin.

I still wear the Ralph Lauren cape, saw another friend of the mm the other day who is too good looking and didn't get rid of the VW dress. So not much has changed.

Went to Liberty with sister today and saw the rose Proenza Schouler bag. Gee it is really beautiful.

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/12/2011 19:57

Just looked at the old thread and had to laugh as my first comment was I'm never going to do that Smile Carciofi and I know ourselves Wink

blossoming · 18/12/2011 20:07

I wasn't a regular on MN till January 2010, and didn't open that thread. Just been reading it now and it was really interesting. I got on this thread pretty quickly when it started though. Timing was incredible. DH just commented on it now. Such a strange time for me back then. Thread was really important for me.

FritziGreenEyes · 18/12/2011 20:59

Mini MU sounds fantastic and outfits gorgeous!!!

I've gone in Christmas overdrive today: baking and decorating cookies with DD, eating Bratapfel and drinking Glühwein, walk in the dark after dark to look at Christmas illuminations in our town. I am now watching Legally Blonde while furiously knitting blanket for my sister's DC3 who will be here any time soon Smile. Oh, and drinking champagne and eating chocolate...

Fleecy · 18/12/2011 23:00

I remember that thread well - I did it to pay down my credit card but lasted about a month I think then fell off the wagon with a super big shop and had to defect Grin I hadn't realised you weren't there from the start bloss as I do remember you being there very early on.

Feeling very Christmassy here today as it was our church carol service. Wore the gold tweed Oasis mini I linked to yesterday (I think!) with black jumper, tights and OTK boots. Dug them out inspired by all the 50/50 talk.

Congrats to your DS marsha

fritzi I love Legally Blonde. And champagne. And chocolate. What a great evening!

AntPants1 · 18/12/2011 23:13

Just back from boozy meal out with friends. Feel it's probably best to just give in to alcohol and food and push through to new year!!!!! Come January will be drinking water and wanting salad......

carciofi and mrs CB, bloss, marsha and fleecy have just seen old thread. Hilarious!!!

Morning..

had a lovely afternoon yesterday with dim sum in soho to banish remnants of Saturday's meet-up damage then carols at trafalgar square..had watched Charlie Brown's xmas earlier and opened gifts from Dbil(as has to return before xmas)so felt lovely and Christmassy Smile

pickled what a blast from the past with the thread..I was bodsmum back then before a very trying stage in DD1's behaviour occurred so I chose a more appropriate name!)I was very pregnant so under the illusion that notspending was possible,in fact I think my first fall off the wagon was a gorgeous Crumpet teal cashmere dress that ltec pointed out on ebay and fleecy and I both had our eyes on..it's still going strong!

red and carciofi ..sympathies on the night wakenings..it's hard going.

ants hair of the dog..you are a rockstar!

fritzi sorry for my ignorance..what is Bratapfel?sounds like a wonderful day.

wishing you all great days Smile

AmberNectarine · 19/12/2011 09:13

Well, DH has come up trumps this morning with a red and black McQueen skull scarf, this biker jacket and the Rose gold MK watch I had my eye on! The DCs have got me a snake print Marc Jacobs iPhone cover.

Off to Winter wonderland today, and a quick browse in Knightsbridge!

Have a lovely day all!

MarshaBrady · 19/12/2011 09:49

Happy birthday Amber!

Fleecy gold tweed is great isn't it. Wendy had a good one from Banana Republic that I couldn't find.

pickledsiblings · 19/12/2011 09:51

Happy birthday Amber Smile. Great pressies. Think I may treat myself to a real McQueen. Have a great day.

Glad you are all enjoying a bit of S&B nostalgia. I seem to have missed your posts on there Carciofi, they must have been pre the 'turkey' reference Grin.

OllieinOrange · 19/12/2011 09:54

Happy Birthday Amber - what lovely presents.

My Secret Santa has just arrived and is now under the tree. As TOWIE would say, "I'm well excited""

wideawakenurse · 19/12/2011 10:05

Happy birthday amber. Lovely gifts from your DC's and DH. Hope you have a fab day. My friend was at WinterWonderland last week and loved it.

Why did no one warn me of the total chaos a toddler's birthday party causes?!! It was great fun though, and lovely to have a house full of friends and family. I have to sing DH praises though, he came up trumps by cleaning the whole house whilst I did some baking and was a fab host too.

ollie, that is very funny about the sign. I agree with red that although there is a mistake, its a talking point between you for years to come. Bet it looks great though. Where are you going to hang it?

Glad to hear you had a good night out Fleecy, very well deserved.

What a lovely evening fritzi. DH and I are so keen to get to Germany for the run up to a Christmas at some point, as its one of DH's favourite places, he really feels that he would happily live there.

marsha I looked at that Proenza bag online, what a fantastic colour. Could be a real investment piece.

Bloss I am in total agreement with you regarding the timing of this thread. I lurked from the begining with the odd post here and there, having just had DS. Since posting properly, I can honestly say that I have made some fantastic friends here, you have all given me so many wis words of support and encouragement during a tricky year of going back to work, DS's allergies, DH's surgery and the general stress and strain of daily life. What an amazing experience it has been, and despite all our lovely links it goes far beyond clothes and shoes!

My friend brought a few bags of mat clothes with her yesterday, so I have a boost of a few new items to wear! Exciting times within the drought.
