New one!

Fritzi I love power tools - much easier than it looks. Go for it!

Blue I am very happy here - I know it's because it's my home turf and I feel comfortable here. I just hope it comes one day in Bristol. I was pretty fed up here before we moved so I know that it's a case of absence making the heart grow fonder.

Poor you Reine, hope it passes soon and you are good to go for Saturday.

I was in your neck of the woods earlier Marsha, visiting the newborn. 3 weeks old and just yummy, WAN, Icey and Blue I'm a bit jealous. My old next-door neighbour asked if I was pregnant again yesterday Blush. she then 'popped' over in the evening and went to great lengths to make comments on how small I am looking. Shredding in January, per chance?

Carciofi how deeply cute of DD1. DS is coming round to DD - He has only ever been able to tolerate her for a short while before finding her an irritant, but they've started dancing together which makes my heart sing.

The DH stories are hilarious. DH has always been very good - we've played a game from the early days where whenever we see a magazine/supplement we look at pages and he has to guess which thing I would be most likely to want and vice versa. Has made for excellent gifts come present-buying time. He is not very good at the romantic gesture though. Would love to be surprised one day, but on the whole, he is probably far more attentive than I am, so should be thankful really.

DD napping and DS being read to by my Mum. Bliss. I love seeing her, but it does make me sad that she can't be nearer.

Mine is yet to be opened Annie! looking forward to hearing others.

MarshaBrady · 14/12/2011 14:05

Anniemac I haven't opened mine yet. But definitely will share when I do.

Sprogger oh yes. But very worrying climbing things tendencies. He is very sweet and says peease and tantchoo all the time but oh my he slid of the sofa in a funny way today and it made me feel awful. In a 'what if' fashion.

Red ooh really. Were you on my road? It's very pretty at Christmas time. Loads of gorgeous Christmas tress. I think they are going to show a tv programme on it, according to the neighbour. Lots of Regency history.

Reine I hope you feel better soon.

The Birger jumper and Bruno skinny jeans arrived and they are great. A good sign I think, if you put the things on and leave them on.

Russianred · 14/12/2011 14:28

Not on your road, but a couple of roads over - think I mentioned the friends to you at the last MU. Gorgeous houses indeed. Excellent top and trousers there, really lovely.

Sprogger DS goes wild for stickers. I made the mistake of telling my mum they were 'baby crack' (inappropriate, I know) in earshot of DS today. He is now calling them baby smack... Blush

IceCreamCastles · 14/12/2011 14:53

Marsha- I really can't believe your ds is 2 already! I remember when you were posting about carrying him round Liberty when he was a few weeks old!
Have to say I love this age too-so much more rewarding than the first 18 months or so. Although by 8am I had already attempted to answer questions on topics ranging from 'why does the moon change shape?' and 'why does the world spin round?' to 'where do elephants sleep?' and 'why don't squirrels go in cars?'
Any attempts to fob her off result in 'No. Not say just because. Talk about it'....

Reine. Hope you feel better soon. Enjoy the slightly positive aspects Grin you and portia should be able to see hair now. It's nothing too exciting though!

Glad others think I could go shorter. I do like being able to tie it back on a lazy day though so will give it consideration.

Like that bag fritzi. Good luck with your project for dd. I'm sure she'll love it.

Thank you for your good wishes re Dh's uncle. Agree it's good that his son can come home. RAF have been excellent but they will apparently only arrange for people to fly back if the situation is reasonably dire so his family are hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

IceCreamCastles · 14/12/2011 15:02

Oh yes- realised earlier that what I thought might be Ss present at post office might be something else- just in case I've confused anyone!
Looking forward to the grand unwrapping. Still harbouring some residual stress that my recipient won't like her present!

blossoming · 14/12/2011 16:07

I'm the same icey. The stress of it all!
Love the hair. That's what I did at first too: I told the hairdresser I wanted to be able to tie it back. Then realised I never ever tied it back hence the gradually shorter to the length it is now. I'll post a photo on Friday if the sequin skirt is any good, and I can sort out lighting. It was easier before I had a job and could take photos in daylight!

red, sounds like you're having a great time.
Love the sound of your street marsha.
Think we need photos of fritzi with power tools!

ReineDeSaba · 14/12/2011 16:09

think I might be turning a corner..Dh's peanut butter cookies with reese's peanut butter cup in centre calling me from the tub in the kitchen.

maybe the fact last school run of the year under my belt helped too.

icey your hair looks F.A.B.U.LOUS..you can definitely go shorter still.Also..why do you not have big pregnancy moon face like I had Envy

Sorry that your family is preparing for the worst right now, very difficult.

My SS parcel is yet to arrive..unless of course I'm totally confused and I didn't order the tomato knife Wink

red I'm sorry but that did make me giggle a bit..I drive DD1(and DD2 with us too)everyday and have sometimes been told off for saying 'not very nice things' Blush sounds like you and your mum have a lovely relationship,so good to hear.I have newborn cuddling envy..wail!

sprogger good to hear from you..being run off your feet is a seasonal hazard but make sure you don't get run down.

marsha love the red of those trousers..would love pins like yours to make them work.It sounds very chi chi where you are(says she who drove past 'chasing the chicken' eaterie on her way home Grin )

wan rest up Smile

ReineDeSaba · 14/12/2011 16:11

has your preen arrived marsha ..did I miss it.

navy sequins sounds lovely bloss think I missed the link earlier..

MarshaBrady · 14/12/2011 16:46

Icey 'why don't squirrels go in cars?' is a brilliant question. I look forward to some of those Grin. I know, Liberty two years ago. My parents were really generous that time owing to a misguided journey to see some cousins and we had to turn around. Hideous driving in the dark, screaming newborn, and a mix up with communication. They were really nice after that!

The street is nice, but still quite close to many chicken shops Grin. Will let you know when/if it's on. Hopefully will be a nice story about the street (and I am not in the background looking bad Wink).

The Preen dress. Well it was tiny. Reine you could go for it. But I didn't even try it on as someone else had already ripped the seam squeezing it it Grin. I didn't want to even touch it incase they thought it was me so sent it back pronto. I really, really want to find a nice dress now. We are at the Savoy for my mother's birthday (amongst other dinner parties, cousin things) and could do with something nice.

Ooh, the Savoy. I'm really Envy! (Thinks forlornly about the 70's decor in the golf club for my dad's bday next week..)

blossoming · 14/12/2011 17:35

reine, this is the blue sequin skirt. I didn't order it. A bit short, and looks A line on the video. Would look amazing on you, but probably you would need a smaller size than M&S cater for! I bought a black knee length sequin pencil skirt. Which has now sold out! Have high hopes for it, although it's a 10. I did wear size 10 trousers today, but they were Gap, so don't count. Have just made white chocolate fudge. So the stomach bug weight loss won't last for long! Although it's for teachers' presents officially. (Made it last year, super easy, really tasty).

pickledsiblings · 14/12/2011 17:40

Marsha, this [[http://www.reissonline.com/shop/womens/dresses/nola/black/ Reiss dress could work on you - it looks fabulous on the model.

pickledsiblings · 14/12/2011 17:41

oops

MarshaBrady · 14/12/2011 18:01

Oooh thanks I like that Pickled! Are there any Reiss codes around? The sale must start soon.

Bloss I love that my parents go over the top when they get here. I used to be really sad that we were so far apart, but actually the nice things we do when we get together pretty much make up for it.

MarshaBrady · 14/12/2011 18:04

ps We could all do the Savoy one time.

blossoming · 14/12/2011 18:05

That is really great marsha. I'm going out for Saturday lunch with DH somewhere cool. Must remember that next week! Surroundings are so important to me. Is it a backlash against my 70s upbringing?

notyummy · 14/12/2011 18:14

Hello!

Icey - I agree with Reine and am Envy of your non-moon face. I didn't put that much weight on when pregnant, but a considerable proportion seemed to go on my chin(s) Hmm.

Marsha - sorry the dress wasn't to be! Love the dress that Pickled just linked to though.

Reine - glad the bug is wearing off.

We will need to do a roll call of who hasn't received their SS at the weekend, so those who haven't opened already can do a mass open/share. Is anyone still agonising over it and hasn't sent? Grin Think you have 2/3 days left until the last Xmas post!

Carciofi - dreadful about the missing cheques. Just despicable.

IceCreamCastles · 14/12/2011 18:16

Lovely dress marsha/pickled. Yy to us all going to savoy one time.

Hooray- it was secret Santa. Looking forward to opening it at the specified time.

Bloss-you'll be fine in an m&s 10 surely?

wideawakenurse · 14/12/2011 19:02

Oh yes, Savoy sounds lovely for a MU.

Great dress - good find Pickled.

I will be posting my SS tomorrow - promise. Grin Think mine tried to arrive today, DH will collect from the PO tomorrow.

I have a confession - I bought the same OTK's as amber, had them delivered to the local HOF and my friend kindly collected them for me today. Tried them on in front of DH, he was a bit Hmm. I think they look good, as did my friend. I might post a picture later for your comments. Really irritates me when he does that, I would rather he says either, "No, they look terrible" or "Yes, great". Takes the shine off something a bit.

Agree that the milestone of 2 brings some fab times. I cannot believe DS will be 2 on Friday, and that this time tonight, 2 years ago I started the great fun of a 30 hour labour...ouch.

Yes, I agree Icey your face looks fab, not a moon in sight. I am feeling whale like. Wearing stripey Janice as a top now with leggings and a black long sleeve t-shirt underneath. It's practical, but I do think that you get to a stage where non maternity clothes start making you look bigger than you are. (She tell's herself, delusional).

red, glad you are having a great time and your journey went well. What are you wearing tonight?

Looking forward to hearing about the power tools fritzi

DH and I are going to put up DS's Ikea mini kitchen tonight. Anyone want to do a sweep stake for what point we start arguing? I give it 3 mins and 21 secs!
