A north face duvet type.

I love it so much I well up thinking about it.

I cannot justify £220 for it though.

I am very sad.

I agree you should get the North Face. They are quality coats that last years. Whoever said 'fuck pretty' was right. I am as vain as can be but come the cold and all I want is warmth. I am not going to freeze in order to be anyone's eye candy Hmm.
If you want the daddy of all warm coats, try this North face artic parka.

I swear you won't even notice you have even got out of bed, let alone left the house. They do it in purple too (cluck on thumbnail eggplant coat to enlarge it). Fur trim on hood removes too. Mine represents some of the best money I ever spent.

On the strength of this thread i've just bought the North Face metropolis - for £150! I bought the XL girl's one as the size measurements make it equivalent to a woman's small. i'm so excited! This is the first time ever I have a) bought a coat in October in preparation for winter, b) got the exact coat I want,c) spent so much money on a coat! and d) am looking forward to be warm this year. I've promised to sell (nearly-fingers crossed behind back) all my other coats on ebay.

I would agree that if this is the coat you want, you will only regret selling out for a cheaper alternative. I've coveted one of the NF coats for a couple of winters now and last winter finally went to get one - all out of stock...everywhere. It was snowing at the time Sad
Instead, I bought a Tommy Hilfiger one which I got for about £100 in the Jan sales. It's amazingly warm and looks the part .... BUT it's not the one I wanted originally so I find myself still wanting the NF one this winter and wishing I waited for it to come back into stock in January.

If there were no NF's in the world and I had to compromise again, I would go for the Karrimor one that was posted to above. My friend has one and it's a great coat and for £69.99, I'd say it's a better coat than the Lands End ones. Free delivery too from Sports Direct and they send you a free mug with every order (I'm easy) Grin

Have you looked on eBay? Would you consider 2nd hand if it meant saving £100?

sprinkles77 · 21/10/2011 17:56

Get it. Now you know it is perfect you can shop round on the interweb. How much money have we all spent on buying cheaper coats? If I'd bought the NF one I really wanted 4 years ago, I wouldn't have bought 2 other coats that are not good enough and still been eyeing up the NF one. OTH, have you seen the down ones on the uniqlo website? They look lovely.

I have the Aigle one MrsVoltar linked.

It's brilliant.
