It's all well and good calling products GRACE and PATIENCE, what about OVER 40'S HARRASSED MOTHER WITH TENDENCY TO HIGH COLOUR?!

Jux · 29/11/2011 11:41

Quite Grin Or even OVER 50s .....

valiumredhead · 30/11/2011 15:16

I've been waiting all day for my parcel!! I bet it comes tomorrow when I am out and the delivery office is miles away

Jux · 30/11/2011 17:35

My LL box arrived late this morning; too late for me to try it today Sad

It's very cute with the mini kabuki and the tiny little pots. I'm not sure that any of the three colours are right for me, but will experiment in the morning. There's veil-thing as well which looks very pink in the pot, but probably isn't unless you really pack it on.

Am looking forward to trying it all tomorrow. May dream of it!Grin

Oh dear, I seem to be becoming obsessive. About make-up! This is most unlike myself.

valiumredhead · 30/11/2011 17:43

I find mineral foundations very odd and hard to judge the colours when in the pots.

valiumredhead · 02/12/2011 10:59

How is your mineral box jux, had a go yet?

I am decidedly UNDERWHELMED by my BM kabuki brush!!! I thought it was going to be this big fat squat brush and instead it is a bit like a disappointing brush you get in a kid's painting set Sad

Not worth the £18.50 as far as I can see - there were much nicer brushes in Boots for about £8. It would've been £24 on the BM site Shock

Still not go my foundation as they dent it separately from the brush -ffs!

valiumredhead · 02/12/2011 11:00

sent

Jux · 02/12/2011 13:24

Oh honestly, that is ridiculous, valium!

I'm not sure about the LL. I'm not getting any better coverage and I still don't know which colour would be right. There's one which is definitely too dark, but the other two... I don't know.

I tend to mix them with the BE, or at least I did this morning!

valiumredhead · 02/12/2011 14:34

I measure the kabuki brush up against the one I got in my original set and that one is bigger and fuller ffs!!! I really wanted a great big fat one Sad

What colour are you in BE jux?

valiumredhead · 02/12/2011 14:57

Its saving grace is that it is very soft, much softer than the other brushes

Jux · 02/12/2011 17:42

Medium in BE, Valium. I do like the mini-kabuki though, but I need a bigger handle or my ms-riddled hands get cramp. It's lovely and soft.

I want a great fat one too! I shall not rely on the internet for one after your experience.

valiumredhead · 02/12/2011 18:24

Have you tried Barely Buff in LL? I am medium beige in BE and that is the right colour for me.

I LOVE the mini kabuki - I have been using it to apply bisque concealor, it's fab!

FoofFighters · 02/12/2011 21:20

I got this clarins Kabuki brush off eBay and it's fab. Big and nice and soft. None for sale just now but worth keeping an eye out for :)

valiumredhead · 02/12/2011 23:20

That's £20 on Feel unique! Bargain for 7!

Jux · 02/12/2011 23:59

Popcorn, warm honey and cookie are the three shades they've sent me, as well as a rather pink mineral veil thing which is OK if you only use a thin layer (that's what you're meant to do anyway, isn't it?!). Cookie is far too dark in the pot but I haven't tried it on the face yet.

The names are more descriptive than those silly Patience, or Grace. Unless there's a quintessential Grace which is of a very definite colour so instantly recognisable. [muses pointlessly]

valiumredhead · 03/12/2011 11:01

I had Barely Buff which was a great colour but just didn't have enough staying power.

My medium beige came today! Interestingly on the label it said medium beige and next to it N20 - I am NW20 in Mac foundation it is THE perfect colour for me. NO wonder medium beige works so well for me then, Unless it's a coincidink and it's just a code or summat! Grin

valiumredhead · 03/12/2011 11:55

Are you meant to use mineral veil with the Matte version? Confused it ends up looking a bit powdery on me - I never was a huge fan of the stuff.

I am fully made up but still in my jamas Grin

ggirl · 03/12/2011 14:05

I think so valium ,i usually forget to use it though.
Still sometimes get a shiney nose with matte and veil on.

valiumredhead · 03/12/2011 14:07

I have decided I don't like the mineral veil on top of foundation - tomorrow I will put a light dusting underneath foundation, see what that looks like.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 04/12/2011 21:02

The LL kabuki brush is lovely, it's quite squat (ie short handle) but beautifully soft and works really well.

I use Barely Buff LL, I did use Light in BE but I also think medium would've suited me too.

I don't like using veil under foundation as I find it makes me look even more porey. Neither the veil or LL finishing powders stop me becoming shiney by late morning but they help a little.

I don't find mineral make up a miracle find tbh, however I know it is so much better for my skin than liquid foundation. I cannot go make up free so minerals it is for me. I will keep searching for the holy grail that gives me perfect-looking, shine-free skin though Grin

Jux · 05/12/2011 02:23

Let me know when you find it, Grape! I think what I want is a mask Grin

valiumredhead · 05/12/2011 11:44

I have just had physio - involved lying flat on my face while she yanked my leg up in the air, was all very undignified!- medium beige stayed put and I looked ever so slightly flushed instead of like this Blush and red hot and rosy!
