Grin I kept typing scrabbling!

There's a Hospital Group in Exeter! Not alpl their clinics do the laser stuff though.

My veins are tiny, just lots of them. I saw a pic on the Spire site of very large one; mine aren't like that.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 24/11/2011 20:15

Well, I'm no expert but I would've thought the smaller the vein, the easier to treat, no?

Oooh, I'm all excited for you Jux. Will you be ringing them for details?

Jux · 24/11/2011 21:07

I think they'll ring me. I have filled in forms for both, but the Hospital Group don't give you a place to ask them anything, so I just ticked the one that said 'arrange a consultation'. I'm a bit scared now, but a bit excited too.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 24/11/2011 21:15

Grin it is exciting.

You do know it'll be one of those things you do then think 'why on earth didn't I do that years ago?'

Keep me updated won't you? I've been reading chemical peel reviews all evening, I seriously need to book this consultation.

Onwards and upwards eh? :)

ggirl · 24/11/2011 21:46

ooh can I butt in ladies , have a thread vein problem myself
I had electrolysis on mine from a beauty therapist
only had one treatment and it hurt like buggery, especially on the end of nose

anyway it didn't work really , maybe a few of the more noticeable ones are gone but they have been replaced by smaller ones nearby

have wondered about trying laser too

people I told about the electrolysis thought I was mad and that only I noticed them..but they do bother me.

I did have scabs after the treatment but they didn't show up until the next day, first as white marks then gradually scabs which I had great trouble not picking off

This is the URL for Spire thread vein treatment: www.spirehealthcare.com/Cosmetic-Surgery/Our-Treatments/Thread-Veins-Treatment/

My beloved MAC studiofix liquid foundation has run out, so I'm on the way to try out some BE.

You guys have really built this stuff up, so I'm expecting to look like a 20-year old supermodel when they finish with me!

I'll report back later.

Jux · 25/11/2011 10:51

Have fun!

OhThisIsJustGrape · 25/11/2011 23:04

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep how did you get on?

I tried out my new Peel at Home kit tonight. The idea is you wipe a textured pad over your face which contains 20% glycolic acid. Then you layer in 'boosters' - there are 3 different ones: brightening, anti-wrinkle and a clearing one. You then finish with a recovery balm.

The peel pad stung like buggery! My face was definitely more than the forewarned 'warm and tingly' Hmm but was ok by the tine I'd completed all the stages.

Face feels tighter but not in a dry way, skin looks very smooth. No redness although I expect some flaking tomorrow.

It's only a very light peel and can be used up to 3x a week. Not good for sensitive skin I shouldn't think, I've been using glycolic products for coming up to two weeks now so my skin will have built up a tolerance level but it really was rather uncomfortable.

Bad day though, in the adult skin kit I bought a couple of weeks ago there was a little glass bottle of moisturiser. It has a pippette dropper on and only holds about 10ml. It's amazing stuff though, even the minutest amount works wonders. Anyway, it fell out of my bathroom cupboard and the bottom of the bottle smashed on the floor :( I'm gutted as I lost a bit of product and now I don't know how to preserve what's left in the bottle. Also very scared incase any fragments of glass that may be inside (imagine unknowingly rubbing that onto your skin Shock I need to bin it don't I?

So gutted that this bottle would easily have lasted until Christmas, just googled a replacement and the full size bottles are almost £40 Shock

valiumredhead · 28/11/2011 08:26

Peel at home? Eeeek!!! Be careful Shock

OhThisIsJustGrape · 28/11/2011 09:58

Oh it's perfectly safe Val, really mild compared to professional peels. I've not had any adverse effects and my skin is unbelievably smooth and a lot brighter. No peeling either, think my skin must be as tough as elephant hide!

That eyeshadow quartet is gorgeous, I bought loads of LL eyeshadows last week and have perfected the smokey eye look, and they last all day. The shadows used wet as an eyeliner last as long as my liquid eyeliner did.

LL have 10% everything over £15 spend, for today only. Code is on their Facebook page. I've deliberately not looked as this beautifying myself lark is bankrupting me! Grin

valiumredhead · 28/11/2011 10:01

Ok, if you are SURE it's safe?

Oooooooo LL shadows - off to have a look! Thanks!

OhThisIsJustGrape · 28/11/2011 11:51

If you decide you'd like to order at least 3 LL eyeshadows then the cheapest way is to buy one of their eyeshadow kits. You can select any 3 colours, all full-size pots btw, for £14.95 I think it is. Saves a little bit on buying them individually and they come in a really handy box that I also store my eye brushes in too :)

valiumredhead · 28/11/2011 13:43

Not ordering any shadows today as I have just ordered a full size pot of medium beige BM and oops a kabuki brush accidently dropped into my basket as well Blush Wink

Jux · 28/11/2011 15:51

I'm an idiot! I went to the LL page, got the code, went to LL site, ordered, did all the payment stuff, negotiated the very annoying Verified by Visa. Order confirmed.

clean forgot to enter the offer code!!!!

valiumredhead · 28/11/2011 15:53

RING THEM NOW!!! I bet they will be fine about it - go on worth a try!

Jux · 28/11/2011 19:28

Jux · 28/11/2011 21:21

OhThisIsJustGrape · 29/11/2011 08:54

Jux · 29/11/2011 10:53

LL phoned me at 9am. They've applied the discount to my order!! What a nice company. I wasn't expecting it, and it was a titchy amount as it was one of their tester kit thingies so I can work out what shade I want etc.

But how lovely of them anyway. Much thanks to LL if they should read this thread!

And thanks to you Grape for getting my arse in gear to phone them. Thanks

valiumredhead · 29/11/2011 10:56

Jux · 29/11/2011 11:01

There's another thread somewhere (saw it yesterday but can't find it today) which recommended Inika for really good coverage too. £25 for an 8g pot.
