This weekend I have learned an Important Lesson. That is: toddlers + BE Warmth + cream carpet = Disaster Shock

My idiot DH thought it didn't really matter when he saw 17 month old DS disappearing out of the bathroom with my make-up bag Hmm (DH was in the shower), said devil child toddler proceeded to empty most of my pot of warmth all over my bed and carpet Angry

That alone would've been bad enough, but DH managed to spread it even further whilst attempting to clear up up

I'd only gone to Tesco, surely it's not possible to create that much chaos in such a short period of time?

In other news, been using my MD Formulations potions and no adverse reaction as of yet. Preps my skin nicely before using make-up so that's a bonus and the moisturiser sinks in really quickly so I don't have to spend quite so long wandering around waiting until its dry before putting primer on. I'm all for time saving products :)

Jux · 14/11/2011 10:50

I couldn't add it to my cart when I was using my phone or my iPad, but now dd is at school and I can get to my computer it has done it. Odd.

valiumredhead · 14/11/2011 11:16

OMG grape ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Jux · 14/11/2011 21:05

H grape, sorryyyyyyy, missed your post when rushing earlier. I think I would cry if that happened to me Wink

valiumredhead · 15/11/2011 09:44

Ooooo my medium beige sample just arrived - speedy service!

The colour is great on me, I thought it was going to be too dark but it is SO much better than the Light/Fairly Light that I originally bought from stupid orange lady! It's perfect on me and I love the matte version, so much nicer than the luminosity/reflective blah blah blah...

I have 2 pots of the foundation I get from America then when I have used that I will get some BE. It will be nice to know I can get a replacement for when my sister is late with sending my usual stuff!

valiumredhead · 15/11/2011 16:49

Medium beige is great! It's still not shifted after xmas shopping, coffee with a mate in a VERY hot cafe, and now cooking tea - not a shine to be seen anywhere! Think I'll order a big pot. Like it more than LL - stays on longer on me.

ggirl · 15/11/2011 16:51

yy to med-beige !! Love it as well.

ISawPINOTSnoggingSantaClaus · 15/11/2011 16:57

Ooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy

I NOW WANT MED BEIGE :o

Where does it sit in the colours? I am Fairly Light in BE, Light was too dark.

Would it suit?

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 15/11/2011 17:35

What is Medium Beige and why do I need it ?

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 15/11/2011 17:39

Oh, ignore me, have found link.

I love samples.

valiumredhead · 15/11/2011 17:39

It's a foundation colour from Bare Minerals range. If Light is too dark I'm not sure it would suit you pinot but saying that it is pretty light still and good for skin that tends to be a bit red, so very good for me.

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 15/11/2011 17:43

I have ordered Matte Med and normal Light (cos they don't have matte in Light), thanks valium.

I shall compare with the LL samples and pretend I know about such things.

valiumredhead · 17/11/2011 11:20

I'm still loving the Med Beige!

ggirl · 17/11/2011 20:05

I must be an oil slick.
Still get an afternoon sheen with the matte version and mineral veil on top.

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 17/11/2011 20:11

I have the same problem with the Lilylolo stuff. Right grease monkey, me - clearly Sad.

I have the matte sample now but I am not sure it's much better. And I wanted to like minerals make up so very much Sad

PinotHolidaysAreComing · 17/11/2011 20:22

Sjue and ggirl I have to do a dusting of Mineral Veil before I use foundation. It says to do that if you're in a hot country (no) or oily (yes).

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 17/11/2011 20:24

I didn't order the veil but I had no luck with the LL flawless silk thingamewotsit.
I will try that Pinot. I am clearly an Andre-esque greaser.

PinotHolidaysAreComing · 17/11/2011 20:28

Moi aussi

My routine:

Moisturiser - leave 5 mins minimum.
Primer (Barbara Daly @ Tesco - best one I've found)
Veil
Foundation x 2 'coats'
Veil

Try powder in place of veil. Same stuff just not milled as finely I fink.

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 17/11/2011 20:35

I will. I will try it tomorrow before I bankrupt meself order.

I love Barbara Daly too. Bit underwhelmed by her mascara though. It looks great going on and then I am piggy of eye by lunchtime. But no running - where does it go ?

It's very upsetting. I swan out of the house looking fabulous, ponce about all morning, check my face at lunchtime and realise I have been a piggy-eyed shiner for the last hour Grin

ggirl · 17/11/2011 20:40

I think today my problem was I had garnier blemish balm on underneath..and I forgot the primer today.
Lesson learned.

valiumredhead · 18/11/2011 07:56

pinot the primer is REALLY good isn't it - I bought 2 pots as I thought they were a bit small and I would get through it quickly but it's lasting well.

PinotHolidaysAreComing · 18/11/2011 08:27

arf @ piggy-eyed shiner!

OhThisIsJustGrape · 18/11/2011 22:49

Been using my MD Formulations skin clearing kit all week. Haven't had any peeling yet and actually my skin is not as dry as it was before which seems odd given the warnings on the box Confused

Have started to break out a little though :( however, the couple of spots I've had this week have disappeared within a day or so. Have had a large on come up in my cheek tonight and also on my chin, have just slapped some more gel on them so fingers crossed they'll be on their way by morning.

Reading reviews it appears the skin will purge after a week or so and the idea is to stick with it and skin will eventually become much clearer than before. Desperately don't want lots of spots though, my skin has been clear for ages now, it's just the left over scars and large pores I want to deal with.

Oh, I placed quite a large LL order and got to pick 2 free samples. Since DS managed to rid me of most of my pot of warmth I decided to order a bronzer sample. It's nice, nowhere near as strong as warmth but I suspect that's A Good Thing should DS ever manage to get his sticky mitts on it again.

I also got a sample of the flawless silk powder, the flesh coloured one as opposed to the White (which I didn't like). It's quite good but I think I prefer my BE veil.

Phew, sorry for the long post!

OhThisIsJustGrape · 19/11/2011 07:29

Shock both spots have virtually disappeared Shock

The one on my cheek promised to be huuuuge, I caught it early I know but even so, this stuff is amazing! Shame it's so £££ though, I've only got a 10ml tube that came with the pack and the full size is £30 but it'll be worth it if it works like that every time.

God I wish I'd found all this stuff years ago, I couldve saved my skin before so much damage was done :(

valiumredhead · 22/11/2011 17:45

That sounds like good stuff grape :)

This thread had dropped off my page! Shock

So ladies, where is the best place to order Bare Mineral's foundation from - i MUST HAVE a big pot of medium beige - love the stuff, it is the exact colour of my skin so looks great and like me just really well rested instead of harassed and haggard! Grin
