Just a quick reply as in bed, I don't like the LL finishing powders. In fairness, I haven't tried the coloured one but the two White ones (flawless matte and flawless silk I think) do actually look White when on. Especially on shiny areas.

However, normal powder doesn't really work either, I've found. It all goes very powdery and eventually cakey.

The best I've tried is BE mineral veil. I never buff it though, just a light sweep all over with a very soft brush and jobs a good 'un Grin

SuePurblybilt · 12/11/2011 08:42

Maybe that's my problem. But I like the LL foundation powdery stuff, I just wasn't convinced by the flawless silk stuff. I could mix and match with BE.
Or perhaps I am too greasy

OhThisIsJustGrape · 12/11/2011 10:23

I am the greasiest person alive. Fact. However, given the industrial amount of powder I used to use with my old make up regime, compared to the light sweeping of mineral veil I now use, it's amazing.

I still get greasy :( but not quite as much and the make up doesn't slide off my face like it used to.

I found a seller on eBay doing the large 9g pots of mineral veil for just £11. So I snapped one up and given the teeny amount I need to use I reckon it'll last me a year :)

Am a little excited as I've ordered a MD Formulations kit for adult oily/blemished skin. MD is an offshoot of BE and it contains lots of potions to hopefully help keep my oil at bay and reduce pore size. Also claims to help fade acne scars so I have lots of hope pinned on it.

It contains glycolic wotsit (can't remember full name), retin a, AHA etc so sounds hopeful. Will report back once it arrives.

And, welcome back Pimpy, god I've missed you Grin. Sorry to hear your skin is suffering, dont be too quick to dismiss the bismuth connection - 'Tis well documented in causing breakouts. Even though I was using the bismuth-free matte I still broke out and eventually decided it was the bisque.

Which brings me on to my next point, glad some of you have issues with the bisque. It's the whole reason I switched to LL with their various dogface colours of concealer as the bisque drove me mad. Putty is an accurate description, I loved the coverage of it but the colour and texture was the pits.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 12/11/2011 10:26

Dogface? dogface? WTactualF is dogface? Frigging autocorrect Aarrgghh!!

It was meant to say different Grin

Pinot · 12/11/2011 10:31

oooooooh that interesting about the LL powders. Has anyone else got experience of them? If its not as good as Mineral Veil then I shant try.

Grape can you give me a link to the MD stuff - sounds great and my skin is suffering with the bismouth shizzle. Ta

valiumredhead · 12/11/2011 10:35

Tit tape is like double sided sticky tape Grin

LOL @ dog face Grin

MadamTwoSwords · 12/11/2011 10:38

I definitely recommend the LL over the BE. The BE brought me out in horrible spots I've been using LL for 3 weeks now and bar the odd monthly spot, nothing. It covers my scars too.

I use the BE mineral veil, didn't see the point of forking out more money and it works perfectly.

I loved BE but am a LL convert. Smile

OhThisIsJustGrape · 12/11/2011 10:39

It's from www.clickskinessentials.co.uk although lots of places do it but I've bought from them before and their delivery is quick. They also do free samples of BE foundation (although you have to pay £3.50 delivery Hmm

There are lots of kits and separate products available.

Pinot · 12/11/2011 10:44

thanks Grape

valiumredhead · 12/11/2011 12:19

Grape Is there matte medium beige on that link, I think there is only the original, do you know? Feeling a bit thick today Grin It says that medium beige is for skin with slight redness - THAT'S ME! I bloody knew I wasn't light!

ggirl · 12/11/2011 12:33

valium there is a matte med-beige on that link
here
that's what I use
really pleased with it and I have red broken veins all over my face

valiumredhead · 12/11/2011 12:35

Sorry grape I meant the samples. It says Matte then when you click to buy it says Original. I like the colour - it looks like it might be good for me!

ggirl · 12/11/2011 12:41

matte med-beige sample

valiumredhead · 12/11/2011 12:43

Oh thank you GRAPE xxx Will order now!

valiumredhead · 12/11/2011 12:45

Oh it STILL won't let me buy it Sad It doesn't add to the cart.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 12/11/2011 12:50

You can get free samples from any BE counter if you can't find the one you're looking for. I live 25 miles away from my nearest one though so have bought samples off that link.

They also sell the samples on eBay although they're about £5 iirc, still lots cheaper than a full pot if the colour is wrong.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 12/11/2011 12:53

It adds to my cart ok Confused

OhThisIsJustGrape · 12/11/2011 13:15

My skin clearing kit has arrived, yay! Not very big bottles though, but I guess I'll know by the time I've finished using them whether it works for me or not.

Bit scary as it says to only use morning for first 1-2 weeks then progress to twice a day. Also says skinmay flake and to expect some 'skin activity' - what's that then? I'm guessing spots :( as the reviews I've read seem to suggest that. Apparently people give up after the first couple of weeks due to breakouts but if you persist then it eventually is worth it.

Hmmmm..... Will give it a go in the morning.

Mzdemeanour · 12/11/2011 14:08

Hi - do any of you experts know what colour I would be in LL if I use medium beige in BE? Firstly am running out of my BE and fancy a change and also been persuaded by what I've read here that the LL coverage might be better for me. And where is the best/cheapest place to buy it?

valiumredhead · 12/11/2011 14:18

Thanks anyway grape - will get dh to see if he can do it for me later when he gets home.

Jux · 12/11/2011 15:38

I can't add it to my cart either, valium.

Pinot · 12/11/2011 16:40

It adds to my cart OK - it shows as £ but if you click View Cart it's there, then comes up as £ when you select delivery option.

Mzd - feelunique does LL with free p&p. Not sure on colours, soz.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 12/11/2011 17:25

The LL site does tester pots for £1.29 so you could get a couple to try before you buy a full sized pot?

valiumredhead · 13/11/2011 14:44

Just managed to finally order a sample pot! Thanks for your help Grin

It DID add to my cart but only as pinot says, you have to select delivery option.

duende · 13/11/2011 21:21

Mzdemeanour, I was medium beige in BE and I have just got two samples from Lily Lolo -they suggested in the buff and popcorn, I think both work for me.
If you use facebook, you can ask them a question on their wall and they reply very promptly.
