orange girl said she sells mostly medium-beige , loads of people suit it apparently despite having different skin tones
it really looks so much better on me than the fairly-light, it looked too ghostly on me as well.

valiumredhead · 07/11/2011 07:59

Hmmmmmmm I need a tester!

Scarlett!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 08/11/2011 10:13

Pinot! I specifically had this mask custom made to permit ample snoggery Grin

HOW'S TRICKS YOU LOT?

I shall now skim the fred.

BE update: Call me Mrs Lame-o McLame-Face, but I actually, erm, look forward to putting on the old warpaint these days. It NEVER fails me. And come payday I'm going to just damned well add to my BE collection 'cos I want some of that there eyeshadow that's, like, you know like brown and stuff, but also like, pinkish? You know? For blue eyes? Yeah. THAT.

On the downside it has now miraculously cured me of adult spots. Meh. They do seem to dry up quicker though.

Dillydollydaydream · 08/11/2011 10:17

Ooh yes eyeshadow is on my shopping list too.
My dressing table is overflowing with beauty products and make up!
I have also found any blemishes dry up very quickly and are no where near as angry looking. Hurrah!!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 08/11/2011 10:21

Yo dilly - yeah I think the positive side of BE being comparatively dry is that those bad boys just shrivel up, deprived of all that luffly grease and moisture....

Hey! Someone tell me about primers! My Prime Time has run out and I'm on summat of a budget just now. Am I right in thinking no 7 is craplicious?

And where the hell IS primer in shops?! I hunted and hunted in Boots but all I could find was the No 7 one...

Dillydollydaydream · 08/11/2011 10:24

I can't vouch for it but some say the maybeline primer is quite good. It is a teeny pot though.

valiumredhead · 08/11/2011 14:03

Pimpy!!!!!

Primers - I am using Barabara Daly(Tescos! Blush one at the moment - VERY good for used with mineral foundations. Really impressed and really helps it last all day. Gets rid of all the porey look. Bettter than Prime Time imo and only a tenner, but 3 for 2 on products atm.

ggirl · 08/11/2011 19:28

TheScarlettPimpernel is that really you!!!

swoons in deference if it is

Jux · 08/11/2011 19:46

Hellooooo! I see the rumours that that Fine French Aristocrat, TheScarlettPimpernel, had arrived are true!

Good day, My Lady, I trust all is well with you? Grin

hester · 09/11/2011 08:10

Scarlett, welcome home! Grin

Just rushing in to report that I have now converted the family. Dp is very seriously impressed with BE and I have promised to buy her the works for Christmas.

dd2 (just turned 2) was spotted t'other day wielding a kabuki brush, muttering, "wirl wirl, DAM DAM, buff buff" as she painted her own face.

Dillydollydaydream · 09/11/2011 09:02

Aww Hester!
How adorable is your dd?! :)

TheScarlettPimpernel · 09/11/2011 09:05

Oooo I am a big fan of Barbara Daly a la Tesco, ever since a renowned but only in East London burlesque dancer complimented me on my BD nail polish. Thanks for the tip Val :)

Gguurrrrrrrl Good to see you. I cannot think what the colour was - it was JUST like what I've seen in magazines and suchlike and failed to find for years. I need to go back to the counter and look at all their pots and remember the name. Because I am deathly intriguingly pale, I can't really wear dark eyeshadow without looking haggard, so I'm always on the lookout for something warm and soft. I'll report back if I can find it....

Jux hello my old mucker! I'm really well thanks. Also, wearing my NEW JUMPER, which is actually a wrap cardigan that I have cunningly secured with an old silver brooch so it looks like a wrap top thing. However I have just discovered that one false move and the legal profession will be treated to a glimpse of my right 34GG. Still, got to keep the old boys happy.

Hester I LOVE it that it's spread through your family Grin. And God yes, what a perfect Christmas present. "Happy Christmas darling: I give you THE GIFT OF YOUTH AND GLEAMY BEAUTY"

In my own personal BE news I have now run out of the small pot I got in my starter box thingy and have ceremonially breached the Big Pot that I got for free. It felt goooooooooooood

ggirl · 09/11/2011 09:10

I have today off , am now going up for a shower and to apply my BE and play!! ..still excites me .And the med-beige is brilliant ,brilliant.briliant

Nice wrap cardi..hmmm have been looking for a nice one. I need it to be longish though to cover arse.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 09/11/2011 09:14

Ggirl I know what you mean...I still enjoy putting it on Blush (that's not a picture of me with too much blusher on btw!).

This is the cardi I got - worra bargain.

I can't wear it as a waterfall one though because I am very, very heavy around the hips, thighs and arse, and have a little waist and torso, so if I swamp my upper half in loose fabric I look so looming one is temted to yell "timberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" as I heave into view. So I wrap it around me - at the moment it's just pinned which seems a terrible thing to do to cashmere, so I need to figure out some jiggery pokery with buttons or something...

Pinot · 09/11/2011 09:51

I love brooches, I get them off ebay - I source sterling silver old victorian ones for £5 or thereabouts. Top tip, that.

rusmum · 10/11/2011 17:28

found you! yay- been off line for a bit.

2 tings, 1st i promised my warnth to someone and lost the deteils (oops) please send address again and i WILL post tomorrow.

2nd I dont like BE and want to sell my (full) starter set (light) any idea how much to put on e bay for? with over 1/2 bottle of primer.

nice to find you yay!!!!!

valiumredhead · 10/11/2011 17:36

Hello! :)

ggirl · 10/11/2011 17:50

anyone have a link to the first thread jodie started?

kbaby · 10/11/2011 21:53

What can I do to combat the deathly look fairly light gives me and the sallow ness the light gives me. Also what conceler is everyone use, I'm not sure the bisque is doing it for me as 2 people this week told me I look knackered

Jux · 10/11/2011 22:11

Baby, I do find that the bisque works a bit better if I don't wait after I'vemput the primer on, and also if the concealed brush is a bit cloggy and manky Blush and then I buff for England.

New jumper sounds like a good idea. Hmmm.

Jux · 10/11/2011 22:16

kbaby that was of course Blush. This auto-correct function thing is a PITA.

ggirl · 10/11/2011 22:22

kbaby- I found farily-light gave me a ghostly pallour as well despite it matching perfectly to my skin. I changed to medium-beige and it's much better. Looks healthy and natural and not pale.
Get to a BE counter and get them to try you with a different shade.

ggirl · 10/11/2011 22:24

concealor -I use summer bisque or the med-beige foundation but using the concealor brush.
