Grape are you barely buff in LL? which concealor have you got?

OhThisIsJustGrape · 13/10/2011 11:35

Yes I'm barely buff in LL, I've got the barely beige concealer. It looks miles out in the pics on their website and I nearly bottled out and ordered a lighter shade but I put my faith in the Gods of LL and by Jove, they were right :)

alfiemama · 13/10/2011 11:38

Sounds fab grape I think I will order a sample pot of the veil, such a shame they don't do a sample of the concealer or blusher. Good idea about emailing them. I found they have fantastic customer service.

Grape have you tried the LL veil under the foundation, someone said this really works?

alfiemama · 13/10/2011 11:41

I've been using popcorn, has anyone got popcorn and barely buff, is there much difference? Think I will order another sample, I like popcorn but want to make sure I am using the best for me Grin and love receiving the little pots. Grin

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 11:45

I wonder if using the veil UNDER the foundation would prevent 'poriness?'

Thanks grape - iyo it's better than the BE Bisque?

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 11:46

Actually you get a really good amount for a sample of LL, don't you? Loads in those little pots!

alfiemama · 13/10/2011 11:51

I believe it does valium as it stops seepage Grin. I know they really pack it in. I got some samples of BE and it was miniscule.

Go Lilylolopoliooliorolypolyio (hey we may get some freebies Grin.

I also, just like the fact it's natural and not filling skin and pores with crap.

alfiemama · 13/10/2011 11:56

Oh and for anyone still experiencing breakouts, this may help. I was using a mini kabuki from BE but found when I switched brush, the breakouts have stopped. I think someone did mention the brush, as it's goat hair (poor nanny).

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 11:58

ME!!!! I mentioned the goat's hair brushes Grin Glad switching has stopped the break outs!

PinotScreechio · 13/10/2011 12:16

So goats hair brushes are better? From where?

And it says in the guide if you have oily skin or in humid air use veil beforehand...which I do and it's fab :)

alfiemama · 13/10/2011 12:38

ooh well thanks val
no pinot I think it was the goat's hair brush causing the break outs.

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 12:47

The goats hair brushes that BE make can cause reactions.

What are the LL brushes like?

OhThisIsJustGrape · 13/10/2011 12:47

Val I couldn't get along with the bisque. Yes the coverage is good but it just left orangey purple patches on my face once I went over it with the foundation. Same happened if I used it over the top PF foundation.

I went into debenhams to see if they had a lighter shade (mine was summer bisque) but the ordinary was even darker so I gave up. I'm very yellow toned though and I reckon the bisque is pinky toned so that's why it didn't work for me. I did rate the coverage though.

I also use the LL Peepo around my eyes and on some of my more red/purple old acne scars as it really neutralises the colour. I've also got the green Blush Away but not tried it yet.

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 12:48

Oh let me know about the Blush Away - I ordered the Peepo but it's only good for under eyes on me , no good for high colouring.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 13/10/2011 13:01

And, I'm fairly certain the LL brushes are synthetic. I didn't have a problem with the BE brushes and actually preferred them as they seemed stiffer (I feel they buff better) but because I only have the mini BE brushes I get better coverage with the full size LL brushes so will stick with those.

Phew, I feel somewhat of an expert, I usually know nothing about anything

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 13:05

Ha ha Grin

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 13:06

I have a MAC kabuki but it was crap for BE - I must try it with LL...

OhThisIsJustGrape · 13/10/2011 13:21

I wonder if the stiffness of the brushes is related to the breakouts? As in, the brushes buff the product further into your pores?

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 13:23

I presumed it was a reaction to the goat hair, like when people have allergies to wool.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 13/10/2011 13:39

Yes, that's a more likely theory.

Keep checking myself in the mirror - LL still looking great. I know I sound boring now but I can't tell you how much this has changed how I feel about myself. I have a friend coming round in a little while, I used to actively avoid seeing anyone in the afternoons as I would look so shite by that time of day Blush :( My skin really affected my self esteem to such an extent, now I feel more confident (still have a way to go but it's on the up!)

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 15:33

Me too grape - I have good clear skin, no spots but reacts terribly to central heating/sun/coming inside from the cold etc and it reacts a bit like rosacea. The Bisque has helped SO much :)

alfiemama · 13/10/2011 16:22

I know what you mean grape. Just done the school run and no touch up needed at all, which is unheard of.
Sorry to be thick but is the bisque, BE's concealer?

valiumredhead · 13/10/2011 16:25

Yes alfie

Hulababy · 13/10/2011 17:07

Found the thread - now to read....

Hulababy · 13/10/2011 17:09

Wonderingtwo things re BE:

  1. where is the best place to buy it from, the foundation that is?
  2. am I putting too much on? I do the whole swirl and tab and buff thing, but my pots definitely don't last as long as they said they would!
