Hi everyone. Come and join in with your lovely links to autumn/winter clothes!

Gosh, don't want to traumatise everyone on here. I really think about it very rarely.
Red that's so funny you linked to DS' plasma car, as that is what my DS has! Except ours was called a didi car! It truly is a,winner. Even DD (8) likes to have a go. Have even had a little spin myself, as it can take adult weight!
I would like to get DS a Radio Flyer Red Wagon, but they are very $$$.

AmberNectarine · 05/10/2011 14:02

red have had my eye on those harems, they don't have a baggy crotch bit which I like...

notyummy · 05/10/2011 14:08

Hi all - just a quick update. Have the M and S patent heels in my sweaty hands. They look v nice, however unable to try on as in office full of blokes who would do this --> Hmm.

I would also like to announce that New Look has the best selection of handbags on the High Street . The range in the (big) store I was just in was amazing....and loads of gorgeous evening bags. I am not claiming that they will all last for ever, however if you looking for a quick update they are the place to go! I was helped by a lovely, enthusiastic sales assistant and ended up buying two bags.

H and M on the other hand.... Not much that took my fancy at all. Poor selection of bags and the place looked like a jumble sale. Big queues. I left rapidly.

Corolle doll. There are obvioulsy different types, including more 'baby' style dolls, but DD had one of those and we thought she would like a 'little girl' one. Just nice to have a doll that isn't absurdly shaped like Barbie, or frankly scary, like Bratz. I am not of the 'no Barbie is crossing my threshold' school, but it can be hard to find anything else. DD has never asked for one, which I find interesting. I would have thought that 5 is the prime age for that sort of thing.

Speaking of M&S shoes, something of a meet-up crisis. The shoes I was planning on wearing on Saturday have been left at my Mum?s. So, am deciding whether to order these shoe boots or these shoes. Am wearing with this dress.

AmberNectarine · 05/10/2011 15:31

I vote shoe boots red - I tried that dress on in red (s/s version) but it made me look oddly thick-waisted (was 4 weeks post partum though...)

Am sat here watching DS playing with DD and her cooing away at him. Sometimes they drive me up the sodding wall but these moments do make it special [fuzzy glow emoticon]

redllamayellowllama · 05/10/2011 15:35

Aah, thank you for the Corolle link, NY, that's DD sorted. NJC DS has a watch (he requested it too!) and has this perpetual calendar, bought as a gift from my step-dad for his last birthday (which he loves and has used every day btw). I also like the look of the sing-along CD player actually. Climbing frame another good idea, thank you.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/10/2011 15:44

bloss Happy birthday!!! Hope you have a wonderful day Smile

notyummy - Good luck with the No Barbies rule - DD had her 5th birthday party on Sunday and got 5!!! I've hidden them all and will probably regift some of them Blush - I think that people just think they are the right price, easy to wrap.... Interestingly, 4 of them were from boys.

My Lily & Lionel scarf arrived and I was a bit disappointed as I thought it would be bigger (pashmina size I guess) - I do like it but was a bit underwhelmed. I also bought a Crumpet scarf from ebay before someone on here pointed out that they are probably stolen Shock (it's nice though...)

Am going to the hairdresser tomorrow to try and get rid of all of the warmth from my hair and am considering a drastic cut, can't decide though.

blossoming · 05/10/2011 18:09

Oh my goodness, what a thrashing my poor cc had in R&B today.
For dd I got snow boots, normal day to day shoes (purple, ecco), and magnificent metallic fuchsia Converse slip ons. Then ds needed school shoes and weekend Geox, and on my way out I tried on the mid heel version of the quillted ballet flats, and bought them, in the hope I can manage them for work, as my clothes do look a bit better with a heel.
All in all I was in there for well over an hour. So saw no more shops!

red, the shoeboots are like the ones I'll be wearing!

reine, are you coming for tea, or just later? DS is asking about you and antspants!

Exciting about a hair change petit (thanks for the Welsh last night btw!). Are you happy with yours now wan?
My mum is taking the kids during half term and I am going for the style day. DH thinks I am mad. He has always complimented my style, but I am going for a day of me, me, me really. I would much rather do this than go to a spa for example.

Back later, possibly slightly tipsy..!

Oh no Petit - I was saying I'm not a person with a 'no barbie' rule. Not keen on them, but if DD loved them I would buy them for her. She has never asked though, and no one has bought them thus far....we escaped the 5th birthday party intact. I guess there is time at the 6th Grin

petitdonkey · 05/10/2011 19:46

Sorry - that's what I get for skim reading Blush

Bloss - nice work in R&B!

AmberNectarine · 05/10/2011 19:46

Argh the rage! Have managed to shrink my favourite navy cashmere jumper in the wash. Luckily it still fits as a bought a 16 as I wanted it slouchy, now more of a slim fitting 10.

Given the amount of things I am ruining in the wash and the amount of crockery and glassware I am breaking (3 wine glasses and a plate in last 2 weeks) I think DH had better assume role of housekeeper. I can just imagine his face Hmm

redllamayellowllama · 05/10/2011 20:37

Amber I broke soooo much stuff during both my pregnancies and for the first year after having each DC. Not sure why I was clumsier (am pretty clumsy anyway tbh) at those times, but DH made me put all of our nice crockery and glassware away. We're currently using our stuff from our respective student days until the extension is done, as I can be trusted at that stage! V annoying about the shrinking of your jumper though.

Bloss I went for the shoe boots earlier - hope you can cope with having a shoe twin (I'll fall over in them and imagine you'll be effortlessly glam). Hope you're enjoying your Birthday evening. Good work in R&B.

Nice shoes NJC. I think DS only likes his watch as it has a light-up function (specially requested to be like DH's).

IceCreamCastles · 05/10/2011 20:54

Erm, make that a shoe triplet! Sorry bloss & red- my shoe boots are v similar to those too- last season m&s!

notyummy · 05/10/2011 21:08

Ladies

The M and S patent heels are AWESOME. Sleek, comfy, looks like designer but less than £20!!! Buy, Buy, Buy.....

OllieinOrange · 05/10/2011 21:22

Bad hair, bad dress day! ASOS delivery came and the blue dress was NOT good - great colour & material but just way too baggy on the top. Have no idea what body shape type it would suit tbh! Most strange.

One good thing did happen today tho, got insoles and gel filled heel grips so now can wear my black suede wedged courts without them flying off my foot with every step!

So, MU outfit will either be Janice or the grey GP dress with either shoeboots or wedges. Tight colour is still tbc! ( i am fully aware i am over-thinking this btw!)

Amber - as DS2 would say "oh bother" about your cashmere. I did the same once but shrunk it so badly that DS2 could have worn it!

notyummy · 05/10/2011 21:26

Ollie- that link goes to a you tube clip of Rob Lowe.

OllieinOrange · 05/10/2011 21:38

OMG - how did that happen? Was it the clip of him presenting at the Grammys (my sister sent me the link as its quite funny when they all get up on stage).

THIS is the dress

Glad the shoes were a hit NY, they are currently in my basket, along with this lovely blue lace dress here

notyummy · 05/10/2011 21:43

Yes, it was that clip.

That dress is lovely.

ApuskiDusky · 05/10/2011 21:53

Folks, I'm afraid I am going to have to pull out of the MU - DH has just heard that his best mate's dad has died, and so is keen to be available for him, plus it's not all that long since DH's dad died and this has hit him hard. Not the best time for me to be disappearing for the best part of the weekend and leaving him with the boys. Gutted not to be coming Sad.

Ollie, I'm happy to cough up whatever is needed for the deposit from what's been paid, if you could pm me that'll be great.

redllamayellowllama · 05/10/2011 21:57

So sorry to hear that Apuski. Hope DH is ok, delayed grief and all that. Do let me know if you fancy meeting up in the SW sometime.

Lovely lace Ollie and shame about the ASOS dress, looked promising.

Can you link to these now infamour M&S shoes again NY - am being gormless.

Best foot forward Icey and Bloss.

notyummy · 05/10/2011 22:04

So sorry to hear that Apuski- it would have been great to see you again.

The Shoes.
