Evening all!

OP posts:
Ambernj1 · 11/08/2011 18:43

TK v impressive today - lots of Goat, Elie Tahari, Alberta Ferretti and Bottega Veneta... The one local to my parents house was launched as a bit of a "boutique" one, so I think it gets a good selection of labels. There are also reams of American tat, manmade fibres and Birkenstocks to wade through though, so they've not totally lost their brand values...

rufus101 · 11/08/2011 20:35

Hi all. Glad to hear you have been safe from the rioting! Dipping in and out, as really busy at work, and my DB's wedding is the weekend after next. The amount of preparation I have had to do, with 3 DC, outfits, hair cuts etc. DH still has not got his list completed, which I emailed to him on Monday! Then the amount of personal grooming which one has to partake in for such an event is unreal! Mani, pedi, threading, tinting, hair cut and colour, hat, shoes, bag etc Aaargh! Where is your wedding Annie? If it's on in Sligo, we could be going to the same one! (Would n't that be funny?)
Lovely buy Bonsoir, and the bag! Swoon. I looked at Chanel bags the other day. 3500 euro!!!! And that seemed to be the cheapest!
What think ye of these Ash boots They may replace my hankering for the Jalouse ones!
Anyway better dash, just a quick hello to all I have missed. I shall be back on track in a few weeks. (I hope)

blossoming · 11/08/2011 20:40

Hi everyone, nice boots rufus! Any chance you could make the next meet up?
I am packing, and running around like a headless chicken. Just came home from an emergency governor's meeting, to find DH hasn't even started yet. And there's me thinking I could have a nice sit down with a glass of wine.
I don't know how much I'll be able to post for the next 2 weeks, so I'll just wave to everyone, and look forward to catching up on all your news and a/w buys when I come back! Mwah!!

PlumSykes · 11/08/2011 20:44

Oh, Rufus, I LIKE those! Do you think you could take the tassley bits off if they looked a bit yee-haw?

ApuskiDusky · 11/08/2011 21:34

Mmm, like those boots rufus, I see they also do them in brown.

Bloss, have a great holiday, will miss you!

Amber, yes get the Goat cardi!

PlumSykes · 11/08/2011 21:44

Pair of Jalouse on Ebay, anyone who wears a 6 still in need?

redllamayellowllama · 11/08/2011 22:23

I have a lovely short coral goat cardie that i love; always gets compliments and is such good quality. Very jealous of your find Amber - i have never had any success in the Maxx.

Boots are gorgeous Rufus.

Have a lovely holiday Bloss!

MrsCB - are you pleased with your leather Topshop trews? Am tempted as like them with chunky knits. Do they need a longer top worn with them? I had black rats but all the ruching on my little legs was ridiculous - think these would cover the same bases.

rufus101 · 11/08/2011 23:56

Had the very same thought Plum! Came to the conclusion that i would cut them off if necessary!
Happy hols Bloss! There is a conference inBristol I am supposed to in to on the 6th and 8th. Hmm! Maybe I could sneak a cheek night to London too. (Wonders if DH would fall for it!)

OllieinOrange · 12/08/2011 07:11

Mum and Dad fly home later today so will have time to catch up properly but I've just been pouring over Vogue's pics of Kate Moss's wedding - gorgeous photos. Thought you all would like something to peruse over your cornflakes too! here

FritziGreenEyes · 12/08/2011 07:49

This thread moves so fast!!!! No time to check out links as I still have my 10-year-old nephew to stay. The weather is ridiculous and I have been wearing boring jeans (albeit Goldsign Wink) and Converse for our excursions to the zoo/fun park/cinema...

bloss Have a fantastic holiday with lots of sun so you can wear all your fabulous summer outfits!

rufus I have seen those Ash boots too but I think I will wait until meet up in October to try them on in RL. They will probably be all sold out by then...

ollie I enjoy nothing better than the moment visitors have left, the house is quiet again and you sit down with a cup of tea enjoying the silence.

Ambernj1 · 12/08/2011 08:17

Ooh I like those boots rufus!

Thanks for your advice on the Goat MrsCB and red - think I will go for it, especially as coincidentally that is the exact amount my EBay listings are currently at!

red we may well be the same person as I too used to have black rats, but was irritated by the ruching (plus the fact that Jordan started wearing them!)

Ladies, I have another dilemma (not really showing myself up as a sartorial master here) - I have a wedding on Saturday, wearing emerald green P8 maxi, but have dramatically failed to consider accessories! Was thinking of chunky gold Escada charity shop find bracelet, but also need a wrap of some sort so will dash out today and buy, but what colour goes with emerald green!? Definitely need one as will have to cover my shameful bfing (DH's family all very pro-ff and I will get lots of cats bum faces if I just whip 'em out as I would normally do!)

Was thinking maybe a cobalt or purple as a nod to colour-blocking or will I just look ridiculous? Sorry for the egocentric nature of this post, but I am looking to those wiser than I! :)

Ambernj1 · 12/08/2011 08:26

Those excursions sound like great fun, and I wouldn't worry, I am living in my uniform of skinnies, supergas and easy bf tops - had forgotten how long it takes me to get my style mojo back after childbirth!

I also remember someone asking me about Lollibop - 'twas very good, lots for kids up to about 6 I'd say, DS loved it, though tantrummed when he couldn't do 'big boy' stuff (big trampolines, go karts etc.) Lots of Cbeebies favourites, Rastamouse, Zingzillas, Waybuloo etc. Definitely worth it I'd say!

PlumSykes · 12/08/2011 08:26

Amber, how about a leopard print scarf? Looks great with bright green (and gold), and will be a useful thing for A/W too. Esp if you DARE to feed your baby out and about while shopping for your new Fall wardrobe.

Ambernj1 · 12/08/2011 08:42

For all of you who have synthetic nightmare TK Maxxes - Goat, though the one I am getting is navy.

Plum good thinking on the leopard print - I have The LV one in purple, but think it could be a bit casual - will scout round for one today! Other thoughts were some sort of reptile maybe...

Still staring Grin

IceCreamCastles · 12/08/2011 11:40

Quick wave to everyone to mark my place.

WAN - how exciting that you are getting big already. I'm not showing really yet but am definitely thickening up.

Had scan on wednesday and saw a very wriggly baby - it's amazing how much they move before you can feel them isn't it?

That WIT bag is so so beautiful Plum

Yes please to sharing again for meet up pickled

I like your goat cardi Amber

How do Earhart owners (RLYL et al) wash them? It says to do a cold wash - is that what you do? I still love them by the way and cost per wear is decreasing rapidly as I have hardly been out of them!

Ambernj1 · 12/08/2011 12:15

Awww lovely news about your scan ICC - do you think you'll find out what you're having? On the Earhart front, mine just go in a 30 degree wash with the rest of our stuff. Indeed they went in the ill-fated red jeans wash the other day, but happily came out unscathed!

annie I saw they had some nice Goat cardis on Cocosa the other day, but didn't have the colour I wanted in my size :(

I like the sound of the TS leather skinnies, but I definitely don't have the legs!

AntPants1 · 12/08/2011 14:56

Amber love the Goat coat. Go for it. Agree with animal print scarf. Have you checked out the usual places...crumpet and Lilly and Lionel. Also liberty has a really good selection of scarves to drawl over!!!

Have just received new Isabella Olover 365 catalogue (non maternity range). Some really lovely stuff. Am tempted by this bretton
