Evening all!

OP posts:
Bonsoir · 23/08/2011 18:51

Ollie - I never use travel agents and just book direct with the hotel! We stayed at Le Sénéchal in Ars en Ré, in one of their gîtes ("petites maisons"). Highly recommend!

blossoming · 23/08/2011 19:34

Hi hf, just messaged you my Provence recommendations on fb.

MarshaBrady · 23/08/2011 19:53

Pickled yy parents. And sister, brother. Big Christmas Smile

Love the lego cupcakes.

Also am very tempted actually to come and stay in the hotel. They don't do triple rooms do they? Grin. I'll pm Ollie and ask about prices.

ApuskiDusky · 23/08/2011 20:17

Carciofi ...... have I just bought your Lily & Lionel scarf on ebay??? I suddenly realised that the initials of the seller are suspiciously the same as yours.. I'm using my husband's account.

PS. A big thank you to all for the links - am starting to work through them now!

carciofi · 23/08/2011 20:26

Apuski, yes, you did, how funny! I hope you will give me good feedback!! I'll post it tomorrow.

ApuskiDusky · 23/08/2011 20:29

Thought so!! It only dawned on me when it ended! No rush by the way, I'm going away on Thursday and not back til Tuesday.

Ambernj1 · 23/08/2011 20:33

Was that the red leopard print one Carciofi? I was watching it! Would have bid too, had I not locked myself out of the house with 2 babies and no buggy. Had to travel all the way into central London to meet DH. What a fool!

Did some shopping today but too tired to carry on typing tonight - will post links tomorrow!

ApuskiDusky · 23/08/2011 21:05

Amber, yep, that's the one! Sorry (kind of!) that you had a hassle this afternoon, do link to your purchases tomorrow!

So, work wardrobe.

Agreed that the Boden dress is too casual, though I may get it anyway when there's a mega discount offer. I haven't yet found any dresses that I love, though I will try the white company one, I think I will wait a while as some shops haven't fully embraced autumn winter yet!

Fritzi, I have ordered the (wool) Zara trousers as I was buying something else anyway, so fingers crossed they fit well. Mulberry would be tempting, especially as my 'significant' birthday is looming, but Clevery, I love that bag! Could be a goer!

And Ollie, I checked out Lands End, and tbh they aren't really selling those dresses are they?! I realise that my dress spec - knee length, sleeves - runs the risk of being suited to an older demographic. I thought about a dress in Pure Collection in the sale, but was put off by all the online reviewers being over 55!

I've been enjoying all the French holiday talk, it all sounds blissful.

Notyummy are you there yet?!

Oh, nearly forgot - I kind of got carried away and bought a Vince suede biker jacket on Cocosa today - I will be reserving judgement until I see it in reality, but it could be great!

That was some scarf carciofi!
Good to see you clevery, you'll have a great time in Spain I'm sure.

Is it really that bad at home? I'm wearing skimpiest outfit outside where it's past 11pm, rubbing anthisan into my mosquito bites. Oh, and thumbs up frim ds and dh on the white dress!

OllieinOrange · 24/08/2011 08:00

Bloss its 9am here and I am sitting with the lights on as its dark and grey outside - not a great mood enhancer! Glad you've had such great weather and the white dress got an outing. Mine are still hanging unworn in the wardrobe Sad.

Am ringing the venue later to sort out final booking so watch out for a PM from me later. Can you all have a think about whether you are around in the evening too to help Marsha plan something?

carciofi · 24/08/2011 08:16

I should have just told you about the scarf and saved myself the ebay fees! J Brand skinny jeans and a North Face gilet coming up soon! In case you checked out my other items and want to vote me off the thread, my grandmother bought me the size 16 furry monstrosity, actually my aunt picked it out and thought I'd need that size as I was pregnant at the time. :)

DH found out that they may be closing the department he works in and moving the work to Mumbai, nothing official and won't happen overnight but just in case I am not using the credit card. Cash is king and I will think twice about what I buy. I still want the Barbour or NF arctic parka though.

Apuski, I like the sound of the jacket. I have a Vince blazer that I bought years ago in the US, I love that label.

Amber, that sound like a rough evening, poor you.

Clevery, have a great time in Spain.

MrsCB, I was flicking through a magazine in a friend's house yesterday and saw a Reiss leather skirt, £95 so cheaper than Boden. I am going to see if they have it in stock today.

Another manky day here but I am going to Westfield this afternoon.

happilyeverafter · 24/08/2011 09:05

apuski would this bag be suitable for you for work? Measurements make it vast and a complete steal at that price.

MarshaBrady · 24/08/2011 09:15

Thanks Ollie. It won't be over the top, ie won't be expensive I think. But we can sort that by pm.

Rain! I wore a P&J trench coat yesterday, not good so early.

blossoming · 24/08/2011 09:44

Inspired by bike talk yesterday I have been placed on a hire bike! Dh has gone to the supermarket (won't let me drive) Confused, but two circuits of campsite in and my bum hurts so much!! How do you do it! Mind you this is probably the second time in 30 years I've gone near a bike!

OllieinOrange · 24/08/2011 09:55

Bloss hire bikes always, always have v hard saddles! Mine is gel filled which leaves a not v atttractive imprint when I get off it! Enjoy your bike ride - picture for FB please!

Apuski - dress? Is this a good colour on you???

blossoming · 24/08/2011 11:32

Sorry to hear about your dh's job carciofi.

Ambernj1 · 24/08/2011 11:36

Right have recovered enough for links...

I bought this Zara jumper which unfortunately is going back, as though it felt soft is scratchy and not very nicely cut. Also this Uniqlo Breton which is lovely and thick and a good length. As it was such a dismal day I also bought a navy cashmere jumper from good old M&S and a few basic tees from Gap for layering. Really want a winter maxi skirt - I saw this mink pink one while out but couldn't try it on as DD started crying. Also like this one but feel it is ££ for a maxi skirt. Anyone seen any good ones?

Also went into Bentalls where they have a fab new Barbour concession - loads of coats. Saw the parka you've all been discussing - it's lovely! Think I am going for this in the Atlantic blue which is much more petrolly in real life...

Also saw a possible meet up dress in Oasis, which I like in both the cream and the red.

Need to do some serious Ebaying myself as now on maternity pay - sigh...

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/08/2011 12:50

Hello!

Just a quickie - Carciofi - I think the reiss skirt is faux leather so quite expensive for what it is.

Gap is meant to be having a leather skirt and also french connection but not in store yet.

Bonsoir · 24/08/2011 13:26

I like this Zara gold leather mini skirt and this Reiss polka dot shirt, which I would wear with anthracite ribbed tights and a dark grey cardicoat... were I young enough still to get away with them Sad

MarshaBrady · 24/08/2011 14:56

Oh I like that gold skirt.

You can do it Bonsoir!

I have only ever ebayed one item. But I feel I should do more. I am so slack and take it all to charity bins. I fancy raising funds for the gold skirt.

MargaretRutherford · 24/08/2011 15:03

Hello all. I'm briefly going to stop lurking in the wardrobe to say Bonsoir I think I'm a tad older than you and I just know how you feel about the gold Zara skirt. I often stroke it on my screen and think 'just one wear' and then have a little sob! However the Reiss blouse would be absolutely fine. Keep up the good work ladies.

MargaretRutherford · 24/08/2011 15:17

I will if you will! Though heavens knows where i will wear it.
