Hello- is there anyone in to help me after my trauma in H &M ?

motherpeculiar · 01/12/2005 07:01

they are very slack these days grumpalump - till left unattended for hours at a time...

i tried on the monsoon top with the little buckle to the side - it was very nice but just didn't scream "buy me". am off to Bromley today to continue the quest...

motherpeculiar - if you can pass through Blackheath on your way to Bromley there is a shop called Sisters and Daughters which has a very interesting range of clothes which I always think of as being suitably funky for a middleaged mum (me not you - please don't take offence). They have lots and lots of separates - tend to be unstructured pieces so forgiving to untoned bodies (again me not you). I've bought stuff from Out of Xile, Noa Noa, and other designers I can't remember now. It's not a big shop but might be worth a look.

BunnyHem · 01/12/2005 12:18

do you do anything above a size 12 in here?

I want some jeans - size 14 and fitted above the knee as I have long slim legs but they also need to allow for a little extra room around my not so petite waist. Oh, and they need to be 34" leg. Do you have any that I can try pls?

Also, due to many recent compliments on the aforementioned legs, can I wear a short skirt wiith thick tights and boots or am I past it (39)?

BunnyHem · 01/12/2005 12:26

ahem

BunnyHem · 01/12/2005 12:26

is it because Im too fat?

BunnyHem · 01/12/2005 12:27

hrmp!!!

bosscat · 01/12/2005 12:31

I want some round the house trousers. I'm sick of wearing jeans and my spare tyre is p'ing me off. I don't want BODEN PULL ONS or a track suit. Anyone? any ideas? something like yoga trousers, not that I do yoga of course or I wouldn't have a spare tyre.

Bozza · 01/12/2005 13:16

BunnyHem I think you could do the long boots, thick tights and miniskirt thing. Just how mini are you thinking?

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 01/12/2005 18:22

I saw this outfit and wondered if you stocked anything similar?

harpsiheraldangelssing · 01/12/2005 18:24

oh I have another qusetion
and also a small boast
but will wait till there are actually some staff around here
(hurry back malory that's what I say)

motherpeculiar · 01/12/2005 20:41

mrs wobble - thanks for that - I had spotted some stuff in Noa Noa in Islington last w/e actually but didn't have time to try it on so that shop might be right up my street, so to speak

didn't make bromley today but will chance blackheath, maybe even tomorrow

cod, I'm after something funky (ish) that hides my spare tyre and makes me look gorgeous, basically. Blues and greens are more me than pinks and it can't be too frilly or I'll puke.

I'm getting resigned to wearing my jeans and t-shirt combo again. It's a trendy enough combo, but its still jeans and a tshirt, y'know...

motherpeculiar · 01/12/2005 20:44

bosscat will watch with interest any tips the staff might give you (if they ever get back from this interminable tea break) as I need those trousers too, for lounging and doing pilates (in a vain bid to rid myself of the spare tyre)

my velour tracky bottoms are just too gross for words - I am terrified someone I know will see me sneaking about in them on pilates day

grumpalump · 01/12/2005 21:19

Ahh finally.
Have bought gorgeous stiletto heeled black boots for evening wedding. I need something to wear with them. Am mulling over this top top

but what bottom- skirt preferable to show off boots.
Any tips?
