What item of clothing or accessory do you JUST NOT WEAR?

ItsNotRocketSurgery · 17/06/2011 19:30

Even though you think it's a perfectly fine garment, and can look lovely on other people?

I don't wear clothes with writing on. Or pictures. Patterns yes, but no motifs.

I have no idea why. I don't think they are ugly or trashy or frumpy or too young, they're just not me.

What's your "nothing wrong with it but it's just not me" item?

"As a combo? Or you don't wear either ever (and so the two together is the thing you are least likely to be seen in ever)"
Either, ever.
They are clothes that people wear to conceal fat.
I'm not fat and don't want to look like I am, or that I'm hiding it.

CMOTdibbler · 17/06/2011 20:06

Pretty floral dresses. I look like a bloke stuffed into one. Likewise anything dainty.
Also scarves/statement necklaces just look weird on me
And I'm bad with belts

pointydog · 17/06/2011 20:06

Tunics

EggyAllenPoe · 17/06/2011 20:12

off-the-shouler, backless or one-shouldered. I wear a bra - it is non-negotiable.

gilets.

long-line jumpers, cardis, anything.

hats.

bibbitybobbityhat · 17/06/2011 20:15

Chunky jewellery.

Boots.

Skirts.

Pyjamas.

Anything sleeveless.

ItsNotRocketSurgery · 17/06/2011 20:16

What, leggings? Well that doesn't work, does it? Your legs/arse don't get any smaller, they are just a different colour.

Skirts. Never ever. Too much hoinking and hitching, though love them on other.

pointydog · 17/06/2011 20:18

Boots, skirts and pyjamas? Wow. You rule out completely huge categories of clothes, don't you bib

WorzselMummage · 17/06/2011 20:19

Logos
Trainers
heels.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 17/06/2011 20:20

Leggings - but I don't think they are a 'perfectly fine garment.' I have a theory that the larger the arse, the shorter the top is above the leggings. Half an hour in Birmingham city centre on a Saturday afternoon will prove my theory v quickly indeed.

nicespam · 17/06/2011 20:21

skirts

i do wear trainers though and logos - adidas cause i is bling

ohmyfucksy · 17/06/2011 20:22

Fleeces or hoodies (unless ill in bed or central heating broken)

clothes with writing on - i do think it looks trashy

trainers - are for sport only

anything with florescent colours

schroeder · 17/06/2011 20:23

long tops they look nice on other people, but make short and fat me look even worse.

Other things I never wear are: sandals, leggings, gilets, scarves (except the kind do keep you warm) skirts, dresses, vests (except as underwear) high heels, shorts, cropped trousers, wellies and jogging bottoms.

some of these are fine on the right people Hmm

bibbitybobbityhat · 17/06/2011 20:24

Yep.

Boots = I have fat calves.

Skirts = just don't suit me.

Pyjamas = don't like em, prefer a night shirt.

QueenOfAllBiscuitsandMuffins · 17/06/2011 20:29

white jeans, would love to wear just don't have the figure,

Nospringflower · 17/06/2011 20:31

Shorts or bikinis.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 17/06/2011 20:32

Oh yes - I have never knowingly worn a gilet.

thenightsky · 17/06/2011 20:34

leggings and tunic tops

noddyholder · 17/06/2011 20:37

Vests too busty
Skirts with a proper waistband and button/zip just hate them they make me look odd

Helltotheno · 17/06/2011 20:37
  • Shorts... yuck, yuck, more yuck..
  • Anything gladiator on the feet because basically, if you don't possess lovely ankles and slim long calves, they look sh1te..
  • Any 'tux' type stuff on women
  • boyfriend cardis
  • per una type big knit cardis with huge buttons... [barfs]
Emo76 · 17/06/2011 20:39

hats

nicespam · 17/06/2011 20:40

gilets look nicer than you think they will

team with a polo neck and you can be an instant sloane

BikeRunSki · 17/06/2011 20:40

Pretty much agree with everything that has been mentioned, although do wear skirts and Converse (several pairs), seperatley and together. Also, I do like a wooly scarf in the winter.

Dumbledoresgirl · 17/06/2011 20:41

Scarves, apart from the woolly variety for the purpose of keeping the neck warm in the winter.

Sidge · 17/06/2011 20:41

Most things actually. Most 'fashion' looks bollocks IMO. Leggings, harem pants and pixie boots looked pretty shit the first time around, they certainly don't look any better now.

I don't wear:

leggings (short triangular legs)
hipster/low slung jeans (am too pear shaped)
scarves as accessories (I just look like a tit)
skirts
blouses/shirts
knickers
