There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

Day 3 done here....I found it hard today.

I am using 2.5lb weights so that is 1kg each.

They were £7.50 from Argos....Everlast I think, they are ok could do heavier from some exercises but not others...

Am going to try to move up to level 2 next week am very afraid.

toastandmarmiterocks · 04/06/2011 10:57

Oh and my session wasn't helped by DH standing and watching in the doorway chanting "ee-zee! ee-zee!".
Just because he is Mr Super-fit, goes boxing every other day...

missmakesstuff · 04/06/2011 11:34

toast, I'm surprised he didn't get a weight thrown at him, mine would - he now walks past, averting his eyes, saying 'not looking, not looking'!

Day 2 done for me, still phoning it in though, osteopath said no leaping about..doing all the abs and strength though.

LouMou · 04/06/2011 11:49

Day 4 done and dusted.

blabalalalablabla · 04/06/2011 12:01

Day 4 done here too - am considering using dh's weights for some of it now.

3lb weights aren't cutting the mustard when it comes to chest flies or the arm exercises strength exercises on the second group of exercises. I'm not going to move up til I can do the side lunges and arms raises with the 3lb or til I can do one lot of regular press ups - I may be on level one for some time :o

toast - get your dh to do level 2 or 3 - he won't be chanting ee-zee then - he may go boxing every other day but those squats and lunges and walking press-ups will make him eat his words.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 04/06/2011 12:26

Re. the press ups: I read on another thread a good way to build up to full ones is to do them on a raised surface, and gradually get lower. So you can use the piano, sofa back, coffee table, whatever.

It makes the step into full ones easier, as the supported ones are a world away from doing a full one, and I'm sure it would take forever to upgrade. Hope I'm making sense.

blabalalalablabla · 04/06/2011 12:44

Yes - good tip - thank you - I did manage to do full ones after about 10 days of level one last time and was sooo pleased that I could do them as I've always really struggled before. I have a step that I can try using when I feel confident enough to give it a go!

toastandmarmiterocks · 04/06/2011 13:40

missmakesstuff if I had the strength to raise my weight to sling at him I would have.

blabala I am dreading level 2 and 3, walking press up??? WTF?? That sounds crazy.

I'm off now to find a piano to press up against.

bogle · 04/06/2011 14:18

Day 3 done....

Flossie69 · 04/06/2011 17:35

Just wanted to report - went to Argos today and bought a set of weights, a pair each of 1kg, 1.5kg, and 2kg. With a stand. All for £19.99. Which I thought was not bad and should hopefully see me through to level 3.

So will be able to do the shred properly tomorrow with weights :) then come back and say how hard it was Wink

SomersetBelle · 04/06/2011 19:29

I'm done for today. But weighed myself this morning (day 6) and have put on 1.5 lbs since starting. Grrrr. What's that about?

LeChatRouge · 04/06/2011 19:49

Right then - just about to begin - Day 4, here I come.

Gonna be a piece of cake today!

Jillian, it's you and me - we're on.

LeChatRouge · 04/06/2011 20:19

Done - yea!

Well done you lot who are up to Day 4!!!!

Tomorrow I will be better, I am determined - it's still the second set of skipping that makes me want to puke.

actiongirl1978 · 04/06/2011 20:37

I'm done and dusted and knackered.

I don't think Jillian likes anita.

My legs hurt and I haven't lost any weight.

chutneypig · 04/06/2011 21:12

Can I join in? I've done 11 days now but could definitely use some extra motivation, level 2 is challenging me, to say the least.

But twins do not make for a pretty stomach, something needs to be done.

TattyDevine · 04/06/2011 21:38

Evening ladies. Did Day 4 this morning but had to rush through the shower and off out so didn't get to post then. I was sweltering for ages after, it was hot today, non?

Love how strong my legs feel at the mo - yeah baby.

actiongirl I don't think Anita likes Jillian either! In the cardio section last circ just before the jump rope she definitely gives her the evil eye.

georgie22 · 04/06/2011 22:26

Late check in for early shred on day 4. Definitely found it easier today and felt very energised when I had finished, despite being red and hot!!

DoingTheBestICan · 05/06/2011 08:15

Checking in for day 5,good luck everyone still to do theirs.

roundthehouses · 05/06/2011 08:57

just waiting for a lull in house activity so I can do mine, feeling ever so slightly discouraged by the fact I seem to have put 1kg on since starting Hmm so might have to try not to weigh myself for a while.

toastandmarmiterocks · 05/06/2011 09:33

somebody make me go and shred.... I'm knee deep in a silly thread on AIBU, lots of bickering last night!!

MissBeehiving · 05/06/2011 09:59

toast

OK, Day 4 done for me here. Missed yesterday.

toastandmarmiterocks · 05/06/2011 10:54

My 6 year old and my 4 year old told me to do my exercise and I always do as I'm told... unfortunately my 2 year old decided to have a picnic right where I was shredding, grr.

ugh, I'm done for day 9... The new weights are killing me but I suppose that is a 'good' thing? I'm finding the cardio stuff much easier so may attempt level 2 on day 11...

30days · 05/06/2011 11:03

Good for you toastandmarmiterocks. I was just coming to say chop chop. You don't get results without putting in the effort.

I toldyou that it would start to feel easier after a few days. Now KEEP GOING. You wanna change your body? You gotta put STRESS on it.

30days · 05/06/2011 11:18

And what's all this about me and Anita? She doesn't like me?
Nah, we get along just great.
Let's just say that she's a long way from having abs like Natalie's.
