There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

shredding and zumba is impressive itsababslife! Wouldn't usually do two things a day, but monday morning run is a long standing arrangement, and like I put earlier re level 2 OMFG...

worldgonecrazy · 13/06/2011 20:33

Moved up to Level 3 at the weekend. Can't do the lunge jumps because of my dodgy knees to struggling to invent equal exercises to replace those bits. Really impressed that I can actually do a press up now, at the start I could just about hold plank for a couple of seconds.

No weight loss and no more inch loss but I feel a lot fitter and don't collapse in a heap until halfway through the second circuit.

Humphreythehamster · 13/06/2011 20:40

How bizarre, I've been doing the shred for June but didn't see this thread :o

I'm on day 4 of level 2 and all I can say is planks are evil, but I managed to do the Natalie moves today and am v proud of myself :)

Well done to you all so far.

MissBeehiving · 13/06/2011 20:40

Day 11 here (L2). My DVD was scratched by Dsis so I end up doing more pendulum lunges than necessary. That's why I hate this level so much.

Well done shredders!

Humphreythehamster · 13/06/2011 20:44

ooh and the v raises Shock

MissBeehiving · 13/06/2011 20:47

Oh yes Humphrey

Humphreythehamster · 13/06/2011 20:51

I'm only using 1kg weights, is that too light?

Zwitterion · 13/06/2011 21:07

Yes! Half way through.

Well done everyone

LeChatRouge · 13/06/2011 21:23

Evenin all.

Day 2 level 2 done. I can't do all of it, I feel sick. Not sure why.

Also the lifting arms up in front and push ups - can't do properly, I don't have enough upper body strength yet. Am ok with the cardio though, so weight loss is an option if I am burning fat.

I wanted to do the whole 30 days, but am going to Glastonbury Festival next Wed, so shall be walking miles and jumping up and down instead!

LouMou · 13/06/2011 21:26

Right I've had to skip the past 2 days, my knees are completely wrecked. I'm guessing it's from all the lunges and squats. Any ideas to get around this?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 13/06/2011 21:39

Lou, see my post of 14.15 on Sunday.
I'm still lurking here as I want to hear about everyone's results, but I haven't shredded since Thursday I think.
I'm determined to keep exercising, though - feel like it's really helped me turn a corner.
I dug out a Matt Roberts DVD and did that this morning - took longer than the shred but more achievable and probably safer for someone with a dodgy back.
And I was trying on dresses today and was thrilled that, in spite of not losing any weight or going down a dress size, I felt much less wobbly than I'd expected - smoother lines down the sides especially. Smile

LadyWithNoManors · 13/06/2011 21:48

Day 3 of Level 1 done tonight.
My thighs and calves are aching.

LouMou · 13/06/2011 22:28

Oh thanks for that WhatsWrongWithYou , will try and do those and see if it makes a difference.

TattyDevine · 14/06/2011 08:44

I'm done this morning.

Out the way nice and early!

Right - I've lost 7 pounds since 1st June - that's half a stone.

I am lowish carbing so bear in mind with that and the fact that I'm shredding I will have low glycogen stores (which are suspended in 4 times their weight in water - its the readily available energy that is stored in your muscles) - but that means I'm burning pure fat baby yeah.

Feeling quite toned and my tum is as firm as its been in a while (which is more to do with lower fat percentage than anything but the abs stuff does work)

well done tatty on the weightloss! (so NOT thinking evil thoughts about all of you EnvyWink) despite all my promises to you and myself I did weigh myself this morning. 1kg off again! on off on off. I´m guessing this must be water retention?

Ok now I am at the 1kg OFF stage again I really do need to break up with my scales so even if it goes back on I can continue feeling skinnier. What is the obsession with weight? Even I find it ridiculous. dh says I´m looking much more toned.

Realised that while I am not scoffing crisps or chocolate I am eating rather a lot of cheese so making an effort to cut right back on that.

Forgot to say, done day 14, think I will do one more day level 2 tomorrow then move up to 3. Am using 2kg weights and mostly following Natalie but still still STILL not managing 100% of the squat thrusts and v raises. grrrr.. really am trying but they are bastard exercises, they really are.

Have to say this thread is really helping me stay on track so thanks ladies for that! Smile

amalur · 14/06/2011 10:13

Hi all, everyone is doing so well! Tatty well done on the weight loss! I have lost 1lb mroe or less but I feel better and clothes fit better too.

I did shred yesterday but had no time to check in. I am not sure I can do it today, I have a really full day and I am going away for a week tomorrow so this may be it for me until I come back. But I want to resume on my return because I can see a difference. I am on level 3 and I am finding it OK, still need to work on on certain things to get to Natalie's level.

Keep going everyone! In no time your body is gonna change

DoingTheBestICan · 14/06/2011 10:33

Checking in for today, done day 14 on level 2.

Just worked out i am going away 4 weeks tomorrow so i might do my last day on level 2 tomorrow then move up to 3.

Well done everyone Grin

sailorsgal · 14/06/2011 11:07

I have done level 2 today. Have to do the low impact version on the squat thrusts as not good for the back. I have to eat my breakfast beforehand as have no energy otherwise.

am now going out for lunch! will try to stick to one glass of wine! Wink

MissBeehiving · 14/06/2011 11:35

Day 12 here. Level 2.

Tum looks more toned and I've lost a few pounds since starting - I weighed 9st2 this morning. But I still have a little "pooch" that needs to go.

bogle · 14/06/2011 11:54

Day 2 of level 2 done (am sticking to 10 days in each level). It's still not getting easier and I am struggling a lot more that on level 1..... but (together with porridge b/f, no carb lunch and lo carb tea) I have lost 11 lbs since 1st june, so it must be working. Really wish i had done the measuring too. Keep going everyone!

Humphreythehamster · 14/06/2011 12:01

Oh god I am so tired, woke up from a nightmare at 2.30 and couldn't settle again til 5 :( Do I get an exemption today?

Blackduck · 14/06/2011 12:12

I am on (um, day 8 of L1 - with some days off - no excuse I know), I phoned in circuit three yesterday as was dog tired....However, have got dp on it and he is quite impressed! I don't think I have lost any weight (but haven't really changed my eating much), but definately feel tighter and less flabby.... pooch still there - need to focus on that. Using 2.5kg weights which are a killer for sideways lunges.....
ds looked at L3 yesterday and I thought it looked scary.....

chutneypig · 14/06/2011 17:56

Done here. Actually starting to feel good after level 3 now instead of splatted on the floor. That's day 5. Even ramped a couple of Anita moves up to Natalie (ish!). I've given up on the rock star jumps and doing jump rope instead.

Bellebelle · 14/06/2011 18:20

Haven't shredded since Sunday and not going to be able to today either and I'm really cross as was really seeing a difference in my shape. This may be TMI for this thread but doing those sodding lunges and squats with what are quite heavy weights for me (3kg each) has infact given me a really painful case of piles! Blush I'm in serious pain with them, nothing this bad since having DD2 and I actually miss shredding - wah!!!

orangehead · 14/06/2011 18:42

roundthehouses I think its better to concentrate on measurements than weight. Its more accurate and I always loose inches before any pounds come off.
Shredding done this morning. I looked at level 2 after I had finished and attemped the walking press up Natalie style (the harder one, I get them mixed up) and fell flat on my face Blush
