There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

day 10 level 1 done, new boundaries tomorrow...

amalur · 12/06/2011 20:52

Signing in, level 3 today. Definitely getting easier thought Rambo style sit ups still a way off. Well done everyone for keeping at it!

LeChatRouge · 12/06/2011 20:58

Funny how many people had a day off yesterday - me too. We popped to the shops at 3ish and somehow got home at 11pm!? No way was I getting me laptop out then.

So, Day 1 of Level 2 today - now I remember how uncoordinated I am! I can't get the hang of those ski things AT ALL. Feel a bit sick too, not sure if it's exertion or the piece of victoria sponge I ate earlier.

Onwards. Quite proud of myself and also pleased to do different moves, I have memorised Level 1 now, could do with a change!

toastandmarmiterocks · 12/06/2011 21:10

Thank you whatswrongwithyou I shall give that exercise a try right now.

I'm feeling pretty crappy because my knee is niggling and I just don't want to make it worse. So today I phoned it in Sad. everything seems to impact on the knees so I'm going to rest it properly and just do the strength stuff for a while. My tummy is my main focus, might have to start swimming or something - yuk, I hate public swimming pools and sadly don't have a pool of my own. Grin

toastandmarmiterocks · 12/06/2011 21:11

Just the mention of Victoria sponge makes me drool

Bellebelle · 12/06/2011 21:16

Day 3 of level 2 done. Missed yesterday as started and during the first lot of strength moves DD2 ran in to my bedroom and straight into one of the weights I was holding. Thankfully she didn't hit it hard so no damage done but took a while to calm her down and didn't feel like going back to it after that.

I still find level 2 really hard, sweat heaps and struggle through the last circuit but my muscles don't ache anymore the next day. Does that mean my muscles have just got over the shock or that I'm not working hard enough?

Definitely tightening up all over, not really aiming to loose any weight but going to weigh myself tomorrow just to see if I have (don't have scales at home so do it at Boots). I'm a bit confused about bulking up though. I keep on reading conflicting information where some 'experts' say it's really difficult for women to bulk up and others saying that lifting weights heavier than xlbs will make you bulk up, in level 2 she talks about building shoulders up to make your waist look smaller (!) so what is the truth?

missmakesstuff · 13/06/2011 08:57

I am still on day 5, totally rubbish, we have had visitors and work has been manic so just haven't had space or time. I will be back on it tomorrow though, been doing lots of walking (and drinking, and eating, however) but really need to get into the habit again. We are going to book a holiday soon for 6 weeks time, so have that as a goal, don't want wobbly bits on the beach!

roundthehouses · 13/06/2011 09:31

day 13 done. made the mistake of weighing myself and yup, that kilo right back on Confused MUST chuck scales out of window.

definitely improving but totally phoned it in on the squat thrusts, can´t see me ever getting into them. and v raises STILL defeating me. rah.

sailorsgal · 13/06/2011 09:42

What I find frustrating is that though my weights are interchangeable I find them too heavy for some exercises and too light for others but don't have time to change them during the workout.

I am mixing my workouts depending on how I feel. Walking to zumba today and 1 hour class. will do level 2 tomorrow. Have done it before so know whats coming!

bogle · 13/06/2011 10:14

Am scared! Back from a 4 mile run and waiting to get breath before tackling level 2. Will post later to say how I've got on....

Zwitterion · 13/06/2011 10:55

Yes me too Roundthehouses weighed myself this morning and I'm even heavier.

Clothes not tighter though so not going to weigh myself ever again.

bogle · 13/06/2011 13:06

OMFG, that was an absolute killer.

TattyDevine · 13/06/2011 14:03

Right, I phoned it in Saturday (hangover) but did yesterday and have completed today.

So getting there but slightly grr about Saturday. I just COULDN'T though...

GColdtimer · 13/06/2011 14:33

OK two days off because of a nasty sickness bug but just did today so I am on day 3 of level 2.

I don't ache the next day. Do you think I am not working hard enough Hmm

chutneypig · 13/06/2011 14:55

I have never less wanted to shred than today but staggered through.

orangehead · 13/06/2011 15:31

Im finding the same sailor, well I only have 3kg ones and for most of them they are ok but a couple of the excerises they are just too heavy. Think I need to go and get some 2kg ones.
Shredded today and was planning on doing a 5k run when dh got home from work (still school holidays) but he phoned to say he will be a bit late. Hoping to still be able to do it.

wildstrawberryplace · 13/06/2011 15:46

Shredded. Still red faced and quivery. Feel good afterwards though...a few hours afterwards mind!

Level 2 day 3 here.

stopthelights · 13/06/2011 17:34

Day 10 and I'm back. Had it phone it in for the last 3 days after pulling a muscle in my shoulder Blush. Knees are a bit ropey now but I'm going to try and keep going. It was tough this morning - I was doing modified Anita moves Blush

DoingTheBestICan · 13/06/2011 18:00

Shredded with the help of my able assistant,ds age 4,actually he spurred me on even more because he was doing jumping jacks with more gusto than me!

I have had a few people ask me at school today if i have lost weight so i am feeling great.I have now lost 9.5lb & i am finding i dont ache so much the next day either.

orangehead · 13/06/2011 18:27

wow thats great DoingTheBestICan

clothaddict · 13/06/2011 18:56

Done it today. The last strength section on l2 kills me.

roundthehouses · 13/06/2011 18:59

9.5lbs! Envy how are you doing that?! are you dieting aswell?

despite saying i don´t care about the weightloss, I kinda do.. would be nice to see a few pounds come off at least, would certainly keep morale up..

DoingTheBestICan · 13/06/2011 19:12

I am not dieting as such,i just dont feel like eating rubbish cos i know how many lunges i have to do to make up for scoffing!
Today i have had grated apple, berries, oats & greek yogurt for breakfast, lunch was 6 ryvitas with philly spread, dinner was pork chop, rice, salad & mayo with strawberries for afters.
I honestly dont feel hungry but i think i am losing weight because i am probably much bigger than you lot,i'm a 14 & really need to be a 10.

Antidote · 13/06/2011 19:47

Right, I'm back and this time it's personal.

Due to extremely poor sleep I've done nada over the weekend.

The plan is 2 days level 1, 2 days level 2 and then on up to 3.

Level 1 is pretty vicious with 2kg weights!

itsababslife · 13/06/2011 19:47

Bogie I'm very impressed with the 4 mile run BEFORE shredding - wow!!! Anyone else doing impressive extra cardio stuff too ? I probably should if I don't want to combine a bikini with a porridge belly....but, how the hell do you fit it all in??

Phoned it in yesterday, so was up at 6am to do day 8 (I think...have lost track) and off to Zumba now.
