There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

That's me done. Those plank moves kill me.

Well done Shredders!

toastandmarmiterocks · 09/06/2011 23:07

those planks are killers. one word of advice - don't do the naked plank. I shred first thing in just bra and knickers (I sweat ALOT) and this morning I looked down as I was doing one of the plank moves and I swear I was nearly sick. My stomach was like a cows neck, ree-volt-ing. I am toning but my stomach still looks like a bowl of porridge even standing up straight. How do I get rid of that??

I also feel as though the whole house is going to collapse when I start jumping. DH says he can hear me crashing about upstairs but he also admired my body as I got ready for bed tonight... first time in a long old time. He says he noticed a difference - yippee!!

GColdtimer · 10/06/2011 07:03

toast, I shredded in front of a mirror today and was shocked at how much everything wobbled. Those girls just do not wobble. Not sure about the tummy to be honest, I think you just have to keep working on the abs moves.

Antidote, impressed with the wrist weights.

And welcome back Tatty. We were worried you'd phoned it in.

Anyway, that is me done. Level 2 day 2. I have also just ordered the idiots guide to dieting as I have read a lot about it on here. I will be slim for my birthday!

toastandmarmiterocks · 10/06/2011 07:23

Twofalls, when I do the skipping and the ski twist things I move all over the bathroom and end up in front of the mirror, just the look of that bowl of porridge is enough to spur me through the work out!

I'm shredded for today and actually quite enjoyed it!

learningtofly · 10/06/2011 08:00

Ok I confess I didn't shred yesterday, mainly because my right shoulder was starting to twinge (long term injury from netball years ago) so I didn't want to wind it up (can't afford time off work!) I get a bit addicted/obsessed to exercise once I get going (the getting going is the hard part though) and I had terrible ants in my pants last night knowing I hadn't done it.

But I was up early this morning and shredded before ds woke up and the shoulder held up. Sometimes I would like Jillian to do a bit of a longer warm-up so I might need to add that in myself to protect my injury laden body

roundthehouses · 10/06/2011 08:03

morning! i also shred in bra and knickers but luckily no mirrors around!! i think more cardio to reduce stomach, abs will tone muscle up but cardio will burn the fat on top of the muscle.

today is going to be hard, had a few beers with dh last night and def. feeling it today. will try and do it before lunch or it´ll be a lost cause and I DON´T WANT TO MISS A DAY! lol

RussAbbotDancer · 10/06/2011 08:45

Oh I've been a bit crap.. missed another day on Weds due to general exhaustion. Starting level 2 today. Need to add three days onto the end of the 30 days. Bums. Untoned bums.

Bra and knickers! I might try that for the novelty. Except our big bay window looks out onto the local sick kids hospital.

wildstrawberryplace · 10/06/2011 10:27

OK, so I missed 2 days as have been super busy out of the house.

However, moved to level 2 today. I think it was OK, although on some of the last strength circuit I phoned it in a bit as my arms were totally jelly.

Plank moves not as bad as I thought..although the last abs (plank twists) was Blush as I realised that my belly was getting in the way of the crunch. Still it is a motivator I guess Grin

roundthehouses · 10/06/2011 11:28

SOB I actually hate level 2. Day 3 done still spent the whole first circuit thinking "i hate you i hate you i hate you" but more or less made it through. find squat thrusts and plank jacks really hard. but i´m not giving up!!

TattyDevine · 10/06/2011 11:41

I'm done!

Aren't we all doing well!

Hang in there ladies x

chutneypig · 10/06/2011 12:28

I'm working up to doing level 3 later, not before I take the kids swimming. I fear I might be so done in I might drown in the pool otherwise. Poor mothering form, that.

blabalalalablabla · 10/06/2011 12:52

I'm another underwear exerciser - it certainly gives me more motiviation for sticking with it as I catch a glimpse of hideous wobble as I jump about Blush

Did mine before the school run this morning - I'm moving on to level 2 tomorrow - have distant memories of it from last time where I wish I'd stayed on level one :o

I'm really noticing a difference in my tummy area - I swear the fat is disappearing.

DukesOfTripHazard · 10/06/2011 14:51

Skipping it today. That's not doing it. At all. Rather than skipping instead of doing it.

I over did it. 10 days off and then straight back to level three with bigger weights and trying to be in natalie's gang. Not a good idea.

Maybe tomorrow.

DoingTheBestICan · 10/06/2011 16:44

Thats me finished level 1,moving up to level 2 tomorrow,i am a bit scared tbh.

I also do mine in my bra & knickers & it really motivates me to carry on as i look a sight.

I can see a difference though & my waist is more defined,i just need to lose the layer of fat covering my tummy now.

Well done everyone,& just think we are a 1/3 of the way in.

heymammy · 10/06/2011 16:54

did level 2 today for the first time...really enjoyed it, but maybe just because it's different. found the last strength exercises quite difficult but surprisingly managed the plank jumping ones!

So, day 7 done and had a sneaky measure yesterday and I've lost 1cm around my tummy woo hoo, just the motivation I need Grin

chutneypig · 10/06/2011 17:29

Well just finished level 3 and I have to say I feel a bit dissatisfied. I ended up following Anita a lot, for some because I couldn't follow Natalie and for some because I was worried about my knees. I don't feel quite as worked out as level 1 and 2 - although I'll hold final judgment till tomorrow to see how much I ache and also because I missed the beginning of some exercises seeing what I had to do.

So I will push it more tomorrow. Ought to say I am on day 17 not 10 too.

orangehead · 10/06/2011 18:03

Know Im a bit late but this thread inspired me to order the dvd. Just got it today so did my first shred today. What weights did you all start of with? I only have 3kg which I normally use, but using them whilst doing lunges etc was quite tough but managed to do it. Not sure if to get some 2kg or perserve with them.

itsababslife · 10/06/2011 18:20

Good going orange, starting with 3kgs! I have 1 and 2kgs weights but found the 1 kgs too light, however the 2 kgs are a killer with some of the exs, esp V flies.

Well done Chutney, I think i'm getting to the point where I ought to think about level 3...maybe in a few days, when the plank jack/double skipping combo don't leave me wanting to cry!

Day 7 done today....had to stop midway to put DDs tea on the table which might account for it feeling a little easier...still sweating like a bastard mind

WhatsWrongWithYou · 10/06/2011 18:32

You're all doing brilliantly but I'm having to bow out (maybe temporarily?) as my neck, shoulders and hip are just too painful. I think shredding aggravates things for me, although I'm reasonably fit.

Have rowed for a couple of sessions but that hasn't helped either. Had to take Neurofen today which I never do.

It's so frustrating - will try and get to the gym this weekend as I know that helps to put things right - takes up so much time though!

Will lurk here and look out for stunning results!

bogle · 10/06/2011 18:44

have shredded just now, day 8 level 1, will manage to get a shred in on both sat and sun and then be ready for level 2 first thing monday morning!

Bellebelle · 10/06/2011 18:52

Day 2 of level 2 done, found the last circuit really hard to get through but did it. Can't believe that I actually look forward to the ab sections in this.

Toast I too have experienced the horror of looking at my stomach while in the plank - looks like I have a ball of porridge hanging from my stomach although all is quite smooth when I stand up. I'm not convinced it will ever disappear completely short of surgery as I think it's the result of stretched skin from two pregnancies. I live in hope that it will go though and for now a t-shirt while I shred is essential.

clothaddict · 10/06/2011 19:09

Level 2 done for second time and using piddly wee weights. I hate the amount planks on this one but the change from level 1 is good. No way I'd do in underwear! My body too wobbly I'd just laugh or be sick!!

I had a baby thinking it was hilarious in the ab sections to crawl on me and giggle- don't think I did those bits very well!

orangehead · 10/06/2011 19:57

WhatsWrongWithYou I have had shoulder problems in the past and found a resistance band better than weights.
I didnt find the ab part very challenging on level 1. My abs are my biggest concern, serious jelly belly and section overhang. Running has not got rid of it, despite other mn's telling me it would and has lost me a stone but no difference to my tummy Sad. Is the ab work harder on level 2.

SomersetBelle · 10/06/2011 20:28

Well I'm on day 11 and quite frankly feeling crap. I need a good talking too.

Not only have I put on weight but my body is changing and not for the better! I'm getting bigger shoulders, and although Jillian says that this makes your waist look smaller, it doesn't help if you resemble a barrel in the first place. Angry Sad

LeChatRouge · 10/06/2011 20:31

Day 10 done.

Eeek - level 2 tomorrow - I'll get a taste of the 'planks' at last!

Well done all.
