There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

Day 8 done here. Good luck with the cat Smile

Where is Tatty? Is JM holding her hostage?

chutneypig · 09/06/2011 10:46

That was the idea, knew I wouldn't fancy heart gargling later Grin. Managed to wrestle cat and both 4 year olds to vets. The cat is now sulking but improving and I'm having a refreshing smoothie and Blush crisps - but they are wholegrain!

roundthehouses · 09/06/2011 10:47

well done actiongirl, chutney and missbee.. have done L2D2 (day 10 to date) today, finding level 2 really hard actually but glad it means I am being pushed. Made the mistake of weighing myself again and have still not lost a single gram. I do feel better though and am sure I am looking more toned, hard to know if its psychological though iykwim? anyway i am determined to see this through.

So glad its over for today though!

GO GO SHREDDERS! Wink

Tangfasticlady · 09/06/2011 11:02

L1, day9 but the phone rang just after the first set of lunges, so now debating if it still counts or if I should start again!

worldgonecrazy · 09/06/2011 11:09

Did nearly all of L2 today. Did some more sit ups and leg raises instead of cardio and those plank twisty things which just knacker me and don't feel like they're working the right muscles. Daughter was about to wake up so had to cool down quickly.

stopthelights · 09/06/2011 11:12

Signing in. Day 9 done

chutneypig · 09/06/2011 11:13

I'm debating whether to try level 3 tomorrow. I've done 9 days of level 2 now..... hmmmm...... Grin. Does anyone know how bad it really is??

blabalalalablabla · 09/06/2011 11:14

Morning all
I'm back after being away with work and no opportunity to shred whilst there!
Back on the wagon this morning - have managed to find DH's weights so now have heavier ones for chest pies etc.
Can't remember what day I'll be on - probably day 6 - think I'll have to do two sessions to make up for my missing ones

heymammy · 09/06/2011 11:15

Day 6 L1 done. I definitely don't suit morning exercising, felt much slower and clunkier so will switch back to afternoon/evenings I think.

Watching L2 as we speak ROFL - going to give it a try tomorrow Grin

DukesOfTripHazard · 09/06/2011 11:20

chutneypig, go for level 3 I like it. A bit. Considering.

Grateful to this thread for getting me back into it. Shredded most days from start of Easter hols then had a week on a Greek beach in half term - ah, bliss - and have come back quite wobbly. If I hadn't seen this I wouldn't have got it out again yet, I'm sure.

I'm pushing myself to try more Natalie stances this time and use 3k weights then 1.5 for the repeat.

chutneypig · 09/06/2011 11:31

3kg Dukes??? Shock And there was me feeling ever so slightly smug that I'd stepped up to (mostly) 1.5 kg Grin.

OK, will give it a go, late tomorrow so I can shunt the beasts off to bed asap afterwards.

blabalalalablabla · 09/06/2011 12:50

Just finished - you can definitely feel the difference after not doing it for a couple of days.
Managed to keep up with natalie though and have used heavier weights.
I may go up to Level 2 at the weekend - I've also nearly managed to do proper press ups!

GColdtimer · 09/06/2011 13:00

Just finished too. 2nd day at level 2 and followed natalie for about half of it. Those of you struggling, it honestly does get easier.

Thanks to this thread though, think I would phoned it in if I wasn't checking in on here.

My friend in australia has been doing it as well as following low carb high protein diet and she has lost about 10lbs in 3 weeks. Mind you she is so very disciplined.....

toastandmarmiterocks · 09/06/2011 13:42

I shredded this morning, day 13 level 2. I am getting better at doing it but now I can barely lift my arms and I just want to curl up and go to sleep.
tatty!!!! You ok? Not phoning it in are you??

LouMou · 09/06/2011 14:28

Day 9 done, moved up to level 2. Bloody. Hell.

monkeysmama · 09/06/2011 14:48

I've just done day 2 even though walking downstairs has been torture since yesterday's Shred. My 3yo insisted on watching today. She's suggesting I do it again without the DVD now. No chance!

itsababslife · 09/06/2011 17:26

Just done day 6, went to Zumba yesterday and couldn't fit a shred in. Finding those V lifts are killers, and what's with the plank obsession??? I can barely type my arms are so knackered.

Good luck with level 3 Chutney, looking forward to hearing how you got on!

bogle · 09/06/2011 17:30

Phoning it in today as thursday is my work day followed by a track session this evening. Will get back to it tomorrow. Quite bizarre, am missing not being able to do it today.....

amalur · 09/06/2011 17:42

I am not shredding today as I can't fit it in. It may be good as I am aching everywhere. Just worried that if I miss one day I may not be able to get back on it, hopefully this thread will help!

Well done everyone who has shredded today!

And I am starting to feel it too, tummy a bit less sprawling...

TattyDevine · 09/06/2011 18:15

Hi girls sorry, I'm back!!! No, not phoning it in - haven't been on much, have been spending most my "computer time" trying to get rid of some files and reorganise my photos and do backup. Finally finished it.

Have not missed a day, though there was one day where children did make things rather difficult and I only half did one of the cardio sets and didn't go back and finish but hey ho.

Am alternating between level 2 and level 1 as well depending on how I feel - is that cheating? Probably! But I've moved up to 3kg weights so ner (for level 1 anyway)

Looks like everyone is doing well!

clothaddict · 09/06/2011 19:18

I did L2 for first time today, bloomin eck, that was hard! And I am still using tins beans!

Antidote · 09/06/2011 19:38

Back on the wagon here.

I put my brave face on this morning and cycled to decathalon with ds for some more weights. Scary stuff, as it involved crossing tower bridge with the crazy tourists and a bloody puncture.

Anyway I managed level 2 wearing 1kg wrist weights, with the extra hand weights for the strength bits of circuits 1&2.

I am so dead.

My stomach is growling so much it keeps waking ds up!

LeChatRouge · 09/06/2011 20:00

Day 9 level 1 done. I actually cannot do proper press-ups.

I am so pleased with myself for keeping this going - I am sure it is making a difference!

Last day of level 1 tomorrow.....

DoingTheBestICan · 09/06/2011 20:43

Day 9 of level 1 done here too.

I am really into this now & feel loads better.

Bellebelle · 09/06/2011 21:00

Finally moved to level 2. Good grief! Shower then collapse into bed. Stomach getting more toned - result. So completely knackered, think I'm in shock.
