There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

oh somersetbelle that´s crap Sad NOT the result we want at all! hmm.. I do know what you mean, I have a broad back anyway and in level 2 when she says that I also think "hmm yeah i get the theory but not sure I really want a broader back no matter HOW small it makes me waist look". Not sure what to suggest though. what size weights are you using? could you use smaller weights?

SomersetBelle · 10/06/2011 21:29

Well I didn't phone it in today and just realised I'm on day 12 which cheered me up a bit!

Thanks Roundthehouses. I'm using some hand made weights which DH thinks are 1 ish kg so may go back to my cans of beans.

daisie4 · 10/06/2011 21:38

Just finished day 6, level 1, bit behind most of you, but I am noticing changes - my bingo wings aren't swaying as much Smile. I'm also finding it much easier, have upped weights to 1kg, so will up again - may eventually get to what most of you are using!

amalur · 11/06/2011 09:34

I did it yesterday but didn't manage to check in. After a one day break I noticed that I could do the push-ups better in level 2 and the dumbell rows are definitely too easy with 2kg weights so need to get heavier weights. Will shred later in the day.

DoingTheBestICan · 11/06/2011 10:18

Just done level 2 for the first time & i found it ok,it was a different workout than level 1 & i really feel great.

Good luck everyone still to do theirs.

bogle · 11/06/2011 11:30

day 9, level 1 done. I find the 'tush behind and out to the side' one by far th hardest...

MissBeehiving · 11/06/2011 12:04

Day 9 here. Phoned it yesterday because I had one too many Pimms worked late.

Moving up to Level 2 tommorrow. Resuscitation unit on standby.

blabalalalablabla · 11/06/2011 13:09

am having a day off today - suffering from an unplanned hangover :o

back tomorrow [waves]

GColdtimer · 11/06/2011 13:10

No shredding for me today. Dd1, dh and I have been up all night with a tummy bug. Luckily mum has taken dd2 off for the day. Feel utterly awful.

Am I excused?

Good luck to everyone else for weekend shredding.

TattyDevine · 11/06/2011 13:50

Ow. Owie owie owie. My head!

Went out to a dogey bar in Ipswich last night, drank too much wine, and my friends tried to pimp me out to a Morrocan bloke. It was a great night!!!

But how how how am I going to shred today? I need 3 mars bars and a pint of tea, stet!

I didn't know you were an Ipswich girl Tatty Shock. You seem so normal Wink

TattyDevine · 11/06/2011 14:11

Hahaha I don't live in Ipswich I'm in a village between there and Colchester.

Grin

If that excuses me somewhat...

Only a bit Wink

C'mon GET SHREDDING! Just think of it as a penance...

toastandmarmiterocks · 11/06/2011 14:43

I shredded this morning day 15 level 2. I am finding it more manageable (apart from having 3 dds running round my ankles, quite literally) but I have managed to aggravate an old knee injury and I am gutted. I am not sure what to do. I tried not to over do it (?!) but it is still hurting now and I shredded at 8.30 this morning. If I rest my knee will my whole body turn to porridge? Sad

chutneypig · 11/06/2011 16:35

Sorry to hear that toastandmarmiterocks. I'm not sure what to advise. Can you cobble together sections from level 1 and 2 so you can do circuits but with moves that won't aggravate? It's been a fear of mine too.

Done day 2 level 3 and feel better about it as a workout. I had no problems after yesterday so went for it with most moves, stuck with Anita for some (walking push ups, rock something or other and the row/leg lift). And used 1.5 kg weights. I guess I'm not sure when it's more combination moves if I'm doing them properly, I was pretty certain with the strength moves for 1 and 2.

sailorsgal · 11/06/2011 17:19

Squats and lunges will agravate a knee injury. You must rest it or it won't get better. In the meantime keep it low impact eg: the punches with weights will get the heart rate up. I have to modify as some of the exercises bother my back. I'd rarther do that than make it worse then I won't be able to do anything at all.

sailorsgal · 11/06/2011 17:22

orangehead the ab work is definitely harder on level two.

itsababslife · 11/06/2011 18:10

I did it! Level 2 following bad ass Natalie all the way!! Watching level 3 now, i'll need a few more days to psyche myself up to this tho....jeez!

LouMou · 11/06/2011 18:57

Day 11 done here. Actually managed to do the full walk it out and press ups with bad ass Natalie today. The rest was safely by Anita's side though.

amalur · 11/06/2011 19:05

Shredded today, it's day 9 for me, I have done level 3. For those of you thinking of going up, just do it, I actually think it is not that bad if you have done level 2 for a while.

Antidote · 11/06/2011 19:24

Another crap day.here with v.little sleep last night. That'd now 2 days off. Bad.

I have done 90 min walks each day but it is not the same.

I may just bite the bullet and go for level 3.

Zwitterion · 11/06/2011 19:59

That's me done (SomersetBelle namechange)

Good work LouMou - I hate those plank walking press up thingys. But I do love the twisty jobs before the skater moves. I think it's because I'm concentrating so hard on my arms and legs moving in opposite directions I forget to get exhaustedGrin

orangehead · 11/06/2011 20:09

Giving today a miss, me and dh just done a 10 mile hike and exhausted but really enjoyed it. According to my nike plus that burnt 965 cal Smile so think that enough for today. But will def shred tomorrow.
Glad the ab work gets harder on level 2sailor

GColdtimer · 11/06/2011 20:19

Orange how many calories does your Nike thing say the shred burns?

Won't be up for shredding tomorrow so might as well phone it in now. Grin

orangehead · 11/06/2011 20:45

Whats up twofalls? The nike plus only walks for walking or running, it clips on to your shoe and it tells you how many miles you done and what speed and then calculates the calories burnt
