There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

Well done everyone for keeping up,i feel much better in myself & my clothes feel looser.

Antidote · 07/06/2011 19:38

Done and dusted here.

Level 2 starting to get easier, still struggling with the v rises and squat thrusts.

3 more days of this and I shall be moving on

Ha ha ha

learningtofly · 07/06/2011 19:53

Wish me luck just about to start day one right now

SomersetBelle · 07/06/2011 20:26

Good grief. Just done level 2. On the plus side I only nearly threw up once. And there's loads more terms for me to learn!

Russ two cans in each hand? Are they gaffered together?

learningtofly · 07/06/2011 20:36

Cor that is one cheeky little workout! I may yet pass out with jelly thighs!

MissBeehiving · 07/06/2011 21:10

Day 6 done here. I HATE those bicycle crunches.

RussAbbotDancer · 07/06/2011 21:32

SomersetBelle nope, I just have hands at full stretch and hope I don't drop them on my face during the chest pies (though, as I'm sure Jillian herself will rush in to point out, my hands should not be over my face during chest pies anyway).

LeChatRouge · 07/06/2011 21:36

Day 7 done.

Amazing - it's getting easier! Woop woop.

Am sticking to 10 days per level. Actually felt slightly less sick today - bonus.

actiongirl1978 · 07/06/2011 21:45

Hello everyone,
I am done for the day. L1D5.

Just one thing that keeps coming to me every time I do the shred....

PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES.

I should have done them like the midwife said after both DC's!!!!

dearprudence · 07/06/2011 22:00

Day 7 done for me too, still on level 1. Today was the first time I could do all the star jumps followed by all the jump rope in circuit one, so I've definitely improved.

I'm a bit jealous of all of you on level 2, but I'm going to wait until day 10, I think.

Going camping tomorrow for 2 nights, so will do before I go, miss Thursday and do on Friday night when I get back. Oh yes I will.

amalur · 07/06/2011 22:05

Day 5 done. Level 1 but using weights during cardio (1kg only). Feeling good!

dearprudence · 07/06/2011 22:09

Me too with the lack of pelvic floor actiongirl Grin

30days · 07/06/2011 22:13

You want abs like Natalie's? You gotta work for them buddy.

And where is TattyDevine, please. Come on, buddy. You started this thread and you're gonna finish it.

Great job, the rest of you. You're well on your way to being shredded.

SomersetBelle · 07/06/2011 22:18

Russ you are hardcore, clearly!

SomersetBelle · 07/06/2011 22:21

DH keeps offering to fashion me some proper weights, cheapskate that he is. I strongly suspect this will involve some piping and gaffer tape. Although he was muttering something about using large bags of peas yesterday, so we shall see.

toastandmarmiterocks · 07/06/2011 23:10

my muscles have been aching all day, already dreading tomorrow's work out! I've obviously been pinching my shoulder blades together because I can feel the muscles in my back?? My arms feel firmer but I am not shifting the belly flab Sad

toastandmarmiterocks · 08/06/2011 07:25
Angry
toastandmarmiterocks · 08/06/2011 07:25

^ that is what I look like, as opposed to actually being angry. Worst day ever. Its not getting any easier!!!!!

Antidote · 08/06/2011 09:32

I was getting dressed this morning & noticed that I can see my abs! Admittedly there is still a layer of podge over the area, but it is less than it was, and I seem to have more 'shape' round the middle. Grin

Still watching the bingo wings & upper back, hoping they might improve. I am going to need to up the ante with some bigger weights aren't I?

Are any of you dieting as well? I keep trying to eat a bit less, but the breastfeeding is not helping. I am feeling like I am going to have a beautifully honed & toned body covered in an inch (or 2) of lard by June 30th!

roundthehouses · 08/06/2011 09:48

ok well i managed 8 days of L1 then yesterday there was just no time at all to do it which I was a bit deflated about, shred geek that I seem to have become, I half heartedly entertained the thought of doing it at about 8.30pm and instantly dismissed the idea.
On to L2 this morning - OH. MY. GOD. Good idea to move up though because I was getting quite cocky at how manageable L1 was becoming and this has cut me RIGHT back down to size. I am actually on holiday from 24th so I am only going to manage 8 days at each level, I´ve worked out, before I go. But that is close enough I reckon.

Note to self: do NOT do level 2 in front of dh again. yes, he is my very d h and has seen me through childbirth etc but I do not need him to witness the result of some of those exercises (think pelvic floor, think farts, DON´T MAKE ME SPELL IT OUT PEOPLE!) Blush

roundthehouses · 08/06/2011 09:49

oh yeah, and re. dieting. let´s just say I was browsing the kitchen for a healthy snack and a doughnut fell into my mouth. i do think about dieting a lot but am also breastfeeding and am just so bleeding HUNGRY all the time. And its a hunger that salad and fruit just does not touch.

LouMou · 08/06/2011 11:26

I actually snorted laughing at you there roundthehouses

[smug sitting on level one face, haven't actually tried level 2] Grin

Antidote · 08/06/2011 11:40

roundthehouses I am crying with sympathy.

My routine for shredding is now:

wee, sports clothes, wee, trainers, wee, shred, clench & grimace through the final jump ropes, wee.

MUST DO PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES

On the plus side DH has started shredding in sympathy so I get to listen to him grunting and swearing at Jillian as I put DS to bed

NanAstley · 08/06/2011 11:41

roundthehouses I can vouch for the umm, expulsion of gases while doing Level 2 Blush. DH is under strict orders to never watch me while the shred is on. DD1 won't be so easily sent away, so I have to do it while she comments on every move, ranging from "this is so easy" while I huff and puff to "you look silly, mummy" Grin
