There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

Day 4 done today, at 6am yikes! Going to try to keep it up all week, day off tomorrow so can do it at my leisure. have to think of a reward for myself on day 31 - shopping methinks!!

dearprudence · 06/06/2011 20:48

I'm done too. It's so motivating, knowing that so many others are doing it, and not wanting to get left behind

itsa can't think past day 31 at the moment.

amalur · 06/06/2011 21:47

Shredded! It's day 4 for me, feeling good about it. Gets a bit late but it's worth it!

LouMou · 06/06/2011 21:47

Day 6 done. I watched level 2 last night just before going to bed, to psyche myself up for when I switch over. I'm still laughing hysterically at the thoughts of it. Hmm

actiongirl1978 · 06/06/2011 21:54

I am done. It is still hurting though on day 4 so may have to stay on level one for quite a while!
Still, I feel better, even if my 'pooch' is still very substantial!

daisie4 · 06/06/2011 22:20

Just done day 3 so a bit behind - but it is feeling more manageable already. Have to confess I have tiny weights at the moment - going to upgrade tomorrow to (whispers) 1kg Blush

toastandmarmiterocks · 07/06/2011 07:23

Day 11 and I'm up to level 2!! Not nearly as bad as I was expecting. The same old problem for me - absolutely no co ordination.

I noticed Natalie and Jillian very cosy, Anita practically frozen out! Jillian couldn't keep her hands off Natalie!!

chutneypig · 07/06/2011 08:55

Just done day 7 level 2. Shifted up to 1.5 kg weights for the first two sections but decided I would indeed be gargling my heart if I tried for circuit 3.

bogle · 07/06/2011 12:04

day 6 done

GColdtimer · 07/06/2011 12:31

Right, I don't want to do it. But I am going to. I have told myself I can't have my lunch until I have shredded and i am starving so that should make me shift my arse.

Blackduck · 07/06/2011 13:09

Glad lack of coordination isn't just me......

Tangfasticlady · 07/06/2011 13:18

L1, day 7 done. But I'm finding it much tougher to complete. Really struggled with the press ups today. Is anyone else finding it harder? I definitely only phoned in bits of my shred today.

GColdtimer · 07/06/2011 13:43

Tang, I found it hard today today but yesterday I found it OK. It just seems to go like that.

For those of you on Level 2, what is it like?

heymammy · 07/06/2011 14:36

Oh never thought of watching L2 to see what it would be like !

Going to do day 5 after dd2 has finished watching her dvd. I've just realised my weights are actually 2.5lbs NOT 2.5kgs Blush, there's no hope for me really Grin.

I'm def finding it a bit easier but I need to warm up very very well and then I have no pain or stiffness the next day. Still can't manage full press ups tho', might try using the footstool instead of the floor and work down from there.

Well done everyone for keeping at it!

wildstrawberryplace · 07/06/2011 15:43

Day 4 done, it wasn't bad at all. Going to do 3 more days at this level then on up to level 2. :)

I love the fact that it is only 20 mins. Any longer and it would get tedious - as it is, I can see why it's been so successful with people.

LouMou · 07/06/2011 16:18

Day 7 done, really flying through it at this stage.

heymammy, gwan and watch level 2, if nothing else it'll give you a good laugh. The fear has left me now Wink

clothaddict · 07/06/2011 16:22

I'm a bit behind, I was away for weekend so didn't do, but back on track today..well still to do it, but I will. Kids were around my ankles this morning and I tried to put it on but didn't get past warm up without tantrums. I'm still using tins of beans for weights! What are the best ones to buy?

LouMou · 07/06/2011 16:34

I bought these. I use the light pink baby weights for those evil side lunges and the boxing. The middle weights for the forward lunge arm exercises and the heaviest for the dumbell rows and the arm exercise flat on my back.

wildstrawberryplace · 07/06/2011 16:35

I got an adjustable chrome dumbell by Reebok - I find it good because you change the increments as you progress and it takes up only the same amnt of storage space as one dumbell. Also, I find the sets start too low often and therefore one of the pairs of dumbells is always useless. Some of the sets are cheaper though...

NanAstley · 07/06/2011 17:19

I tried Level 2 for the first time today.
Oh. My. God.

I only managed to do Anita's easy version. I can't imagine the day I can do the advanced version Shock

Though it made me grin evilly to see Natalie struggling too.

chutneypig · 07/06/2011 17:28

I've got the set LouMou has. I used the 1 kg (middle) ones from the start and just stepped up today to the 1.5 kg ones for the first two circuits of level 2. i stuck to the 1 kg ones for the military presses or whatever those evil things are called.

stopthelights · 07/06/2011 17:53

Day 7 done. Stepped it up to level 2 - you think it's gonna be easy, think again buddy Grin

itsababslife · 07/06/2011 18:18

Cor...just done day 5 (day 3 on level 2) and it was actually easier! (never thought i'd say that), I even had a go at some of Natalie's moves. DDs interpretation of some of the exercises kept me going. Had to increase my weights from 2 to 15kgs on the skaters tho Shock (blimmin kids!!!)

itsababslife · 07/06/2011 18:20

Have ordered the 6 week 6 pack for day 31...that takes me up to my hols, If I haven't got rid of the pooch by then i shall be most Angry

RussAbbotDancer · 07/06/2011 19:20

Day 8 done. Thinking about going to Level 2 tomorrow but I think I'll miss bits of Level 1. I like skipping. I like to think I'm in late 80s Brooklyn with two ropes whipping around me and Grandmaster Flash on a beatbox. And I now really like bicycle crunches, after being destroyed by them on day 1.

Anyone else doing it with two cans in each hand?
