There are 30 days in June. Who wants to do the 30 day shred every day this month?

TattyDevine · 31/05/2011 21:06

Right, ladies its that time of year one has to get shredded. There are holidays, there are barbecues, there are weddings to attend. One has to look good, and one has to undo any overindulgence of attending said events.

So I will be doing the 30 day shred every day in June, unless extraneous circumstances prevent me, these being:

Loss of life or loss of limb;
Illness involving either puking or high temperature;
Velcro-baby (i.e sick child keeping one up all night or similar shenanigans)

Any other excuses will not be tolerated.

Is anyone else in? You must check in daily to say you've done it and you may post your weight loss or inch loss weekly if you feel inclined. Plus wax lyrical about how shredded you feel and how hard your bottom is and how you can't really lift your arm very well or it shakes like a leaf but it doesn't matter because you can fit into your least mumsy swimsuit.

See you tomorrow!

Just managed day 4. Visited the ILs at the weekend and they don't have internet or a dvd player! Took the laptop but couldn't get the Shred to play on it so i've missed a couple of days. Felt so guilty I was spurred into action at 6.30 this morning.....I now feel like s**t and look like Angry

toastandmarmiterocks · 06/06/2011 08:26

yuk, just managed day 10. gutted about going up to level 2 tomorrow, I'm just getting into level 1. I still can't do the side lunge things with my 2.5kg weights but on the plus side my arms are firming up.

Have you noticed there is not one bead of sweat between the three of them? I could fry eggs on my face...!

chutneypig · 06/06/2011 08:36

Shredded - plank moves .

I'm on day 13, haven't weighed myself at all, too worried I'd put it on. But I'd really like to see some loosening of clothes right now. I think my arms are looking better but not exactly sculpted yet. Maybe ought to ramp the weights up but I'm worried that'll finish me off totally for the plank moves.

Flossie69 · 06/06/2011 08:41

OK, day 3 for me this morning. Finding the jumping jacks v. difficult. Still on 1kg weights. These feel ok on some exercises, and too easy on others. May increase to 1.5 tomorrow.

worldgonecrazy · 06/06/2011 09:10

Still on Level 2 and it's not getting any easier.
On the plus side, I haven't lost any weight but my dresses are fitting better . Biceps are +2cm, under bust -2cm, hips -1cm so that could be a measuring error, everything else is the same.

itsababslife · 06/06/2011 09:50

what are you all planning to do on day 31??

DoingTheBestICan · 06/06/2011 10:01

Day 6 done for me,really enjoyed it today.

Off to work now, good luck everyone still to do theirs.

On day 31 i am going to carry on on level 3,just maybe every other day?

bogle · 06/06/2011 10:34

day 5 done

MissBeehiving · 06/06/2011 10:47

Day 5 done here. It is getting easier and the pooch is diminishing. Yay. I'm almost enjoying the chest pies. Almost.

Well done to all that have shredded and GET ON WITH IT YOU LAZY FECKERS to the people that haven't. Grin

RussAbbotDancer · 06/06/2011 11:46

I just missed two days - family visiting, small flat and general exhaustion. Back on track now and really noticing the effects already, especially in stomach area (not horrific to start with because I do quite a lot of running and dancing anyway, so I thought "well, what more can I do?" but seems to be a lot!). Curiously, on the two days missed my appetite went through the roof (of the cake shop).

GColdtimer · 06/06/2011 11:56

another weekend slacker (was away with both dcs on my own and drank too much wine )here but about to do it before my lunch.

well done everyone else.

amalur · 06/06/2011 12:09

I know I may be a bit late, but can I join in? I have been doing it since friday and want to do it every day. Because I have done it in the past up to Level 2 and I do some other exercise, last night I thought it would be good to try Level 3. Oh the pain! And the sweat! But it was good and managed it, even thought with the smaller weights (1kg).

Keep going!

blabalalalablabla · 06/06/2011 12:40

Day 5 done here - I'm away with work so they'll be no opportunity for me to shred til thursday :( and I am actually genuinely sad about that :o

I may do another shred tonight to make up for missing a couple of days.
I've upped the weights and actually managed to do the side lunges and arm raises with the 3lb weights which I was really pleased with (I'm such a weakling!)

wildstrawberryplace · 06/06/2011 12:54

Day 3 done. It's getting easier - apart from the lunges, both sets. I loathe lunges and never did them before, always avoided them - maybe it is harder as I therefore have no "muscle memory"?

Pixiepops · 06/06/2011 13:22

I'm starting it when I get in from work this evening. DP is under strict instruction to not arrive home from work early, though god knows what the cat's going to make of me doing it...

Fingers crossed! Grin

roundthehouses · 06/06/2011 14:05

ok day 8 done and dusted. Finally got the 2kg weights and put a lot of effort in so it was quite hard again. Still not managing full push ups for the whole time but getting better. Couldn´t quite finish the last set of side lunges with 2kg so had to switch back to 1kg. 2 more days then onto level 2!

Going to try to ignore weight, I am feeling better for it and am wearing some pre preg jeans I couldn´t remotely get into a few weeks ago so thats good.

dearprudence · 06/06/2011 14:18

Ooh, 13 of you done already. Well done!
I am in work today and didn't get up early enough, so will have to do mine this evening.

learningtofly · 06/06/2011 14:24

ladies this thread has inspired me to buy this dvd - its arriving tomorrow!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 06/06/2011 14:26

I'm debating whether to shred or go on the rowing machine again, as my back and shoulders feel much better today after yesterday's rowing session. Hmm...

stopthelights · 06/06/2011 17:38

Day 6 and I'm shredded

georgie22 · 06/06/2011 17:42

Reporting in having shredded yesterday and today. Found it easier yesterday but harder again today which I think was due to it being warmer later in the day. No knee trouble yet so it's all good.

LeChatRouge · 06/06/2011 18:36

Day 6 done today.

For me on 1st July, I shall see if I feel better/fitter/happier/clothes looser etc etc ie any benefits and then maybe carry on or buy something else. The 20 mins really suits me.

I actually think it was easier today - I had the tv on to watch music videos and star jump to different music instead - felt slightly less sick at second set of skipping.

heymammy · 06/06/2011 19:30

Day 4 for me today. Felt like i could manage most exercises (using 2.5k weights) but the side lunges and the bicycle crunch thingies at the end just do me in. And yes, I am bright red by the end of it Grin

No really expecting any/much weight loss but would like to not be able to 'pinch an inch' and tone up all over.

Antidote · 06/06/2011 19:41

Dead and shred here. I cannot believe there are people out there using more than 1kg weights. Much respect!

I am going to keep doing level 2 till June 10th, and I shall be with Natalie by then.

Then it is on to level 3.

Scared.

SomersetBelle · 06/06/2011 20:11

I'm done. Going to try level 2 tomorrow. I never thought I'd say that!
