Fairly 'safe' Boden collection. Many of the styles and patterns recycled from previous years. The petite range is a positive for me at 5ft.
So have my eye on the following:
Breton top
mohair cardigan
cropped wool trousers
patterned pretty top / blouse thing

Can I sak what the hell has happened to shoes and boots?? Horrid

novelsituation · 28/05/2011 07:32

Opinions please on the purple and navy patent wedge boots? Would bring a new lease of life to a number of dresses in my wardrobe for Autumn, but a little concerned they might scream Boden. What do you think?

Blimey the prices have shot up. For example the leggings are currently on sale for £19 and in the autumn preview they are £22.

Quality of many things has gone right down recently. I have a long lambswool cardigan which looks like a rag now, and its only been worn a few times and washed once. A couple of cotton coatigan thingies from a few years ago are still going strong and look great.

strawberryjelly · 28/05/2011 09:28

I am oggling the mohair cardis, a couple of cord skirts- short ones- which are actually lined this year- so maybe JB has listened to us.

There are a few dresses which I may try- the everyday velvet dress and the knot front jersey one, and one other which I can't remember the name of. Will choose sober colours not wild prints.
Disppointed to see so many short sleeve dresses for the cold months.

Prices have been hiked- almost on a level with Jigsaw- everything up by 10% at least- twice the rate of inflation- and I think that's who he sees as his chief rival- along with maybe Kew, L K Bennett etc.

A lot of it is samey and a lot of disappointments (why can't they do a proper PLAIN knitted dress without any silly bits and bobs? Why do so many things come in coloyrs I can't stand, except for purple - I can't buy anything else purple FGS!)

But I love this: [[http://www.bodenpreview.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Knitwear/Jumpers/WK675/Womens-Stripy-Jumper.html?NavGroupID=6
jumper]]
And I don't think it's that "Bodeny".

LadyWord · 28/05/2011 10:37

(In charcoal that is - the coral is a bit much)

strawberryjelly · 28/05/2011 10:39

Jajas that's all very well but prices are also relative and if other companies can do it cheaper surely that's the point?

Northernlurker · 28/05/2011 11:18

Right I will be trying the uplifting tee and the wrap jersey top in the navy honesty pattern - will either be triumph or total disaster!

kitkatya · 28/05/2011 13:27

Lady that jumper would look terrible on me as Im so top heavy. It is nice though.

I do think their Autumn/Winter stuff is so much nicer but, it is very bland.

The childrens coats are exactly the same every year. Same colours as well.

Oh remember when we bought all those childrens coats with the spend £30 get £10 off last year?

I miss that code so much Sad Sad

HugoFirst · 28/05/2011 15:20

i like blue satchel and mohair jumper

that is all

shoes and boots are TERRIBLE

polyhymnia · 28/05/2011 15:39

Which mohair jumper??

strawberryjelly · 28/05/2011 15:41

mohair cardi?

Long ish line for £59.

polyhymnia · 28/05/2011 15:47

Ah yes, does look nice.

HugoFirst · 28/05/2011 15:58

yes kjumper
plain
not bodenny
nice colours

hattymattie · 28/05/2011 16:47

OK - what does everybody think of the uptown jersey dress in green (except not sure about short sleeves in winter). Also like casual dress in mallard but unsure about ironing on velvet (always leave marks). Also perfect cosy parka in olive and hamptons tee. That's my lot.

mrspnut · 28/05/2011 19:53

I've ordered a few mini boden bits for DD, the jersey lined combats because she has lived in her pair from last year but they are getting a bit ankle flappy. The cord baggies because I think she'll love them and another anorak.

I am quite peeved that all three colours of the girls anorak have a flower pattern. DD hates girls clothes and she really wanted the boys camouflage patterned one but I hated it. I've bought the girls blue flowered pattern jacket and I hope I can persuade her to wear it. ( she currently has the blue jacket with white spots from 2 years ago)

kitkatya · 28/05/2011 20:19

Im so baffled that you can all be thinking of Winter clothes when Summer hasnt even started!! Where do you put it all?

ja9 · 28/05/2011 20:47

It's really interesting hearing so many of you all say that there's nothing new and it's all so samey... I'm relatively new to Boden so don't quite feel like that yet. I love several of the dresses but think the prices are quite a lot steeper than last season. Hadn't really thought about clothes prices going up generally...

kitkatya · 28/05/2011 20:56

I dont understand why everybody rushes to buy clothes from the preview, even with 20 percent off its still overpriced and if its anything like last season they had reductions as soon as it was all out formally.

I'm still wearing this years Winter clothes!

CliffTumble · 29/05/2011 09:01

20% off very dear is still expensive though.
