lucykate · 26/05/2011 14:24

blimey, well that's me priced out of the boden market!, back to ebay for me Wink

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/05/2011 14:31

Some decent stuff for boys in terms of coats and jeans so have ordered those.

Girls a bit disappointing but its not like there aren't loads of nice girl's clothes out there - but know I can get better cords etc for DD in zara and at a better price.

Women's shoes generally vile - but like the cropped cashmere cardigan although colours a bit dull. Also liked one of the knitted tunics but to be worn as a dress.

JohnniesBitch · 26/05/2011 14:37

um, i really want some new wrap dresses for work but at £110 and £99 even with discount i'm not sure i can justify it. May wait until the sale for them.
No shoes i like this year, so again not sure what to do as need new work shoes and found boden comfy to wear all day at work, look smart and an ok price.
As usual the dd's will benefit and have ordered a fair bit for them already. ds2 is 9 and not many tops he would wear there and ds1 is 14 in july and he won;t wear johnnieB he will probably like the union jack boxers but thast all i can see. Plus i don;t want to pay, jack wills, hollister and abercrombie prices for JOhnnie B.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 26/05/2011 14:56

Have ordered a few bits for DD2, but way less than my usual preview forays.
Jemima, the kids shoes are good quality, esp boots. DD's Boden boots from last winter will still be good this year (they were a bit bigger than anticipated) although I have bought her some Bisgaard purple chelsea boots for when short boots are needed. Bit more ££ than Boden, but super fit and durablility (apart from being v funky).

jem1980 · 26/05/2011 15:02

I may be missing something here, but it looks to me like some of the Mini prices are lower than last year?
e.g. boys' vintage jeans are now £20 for up to 6y, £22 for 7y+ while in the current summer range they are £22 for up to 3y, and £24 for 4y+
Suits me, as my DS is going into 4y so they are £4 cheaper!! (+ discounts)(and to think I almost bought in advance just in case they stopped doing them...!)

There are other Mini items that seem cheaper than previous seasons too, and for many of them the age boundary for higher prices is higher than previous years.

MilliONaire · 26/05/2011 15:10

Blossoming,
I like pretty much everything you linked to & a few other bits and pieces! Can I ask a really silly question (I have never bought from a preview before) but do they 'reserve' the items for you and then you pay when they come into stock or do they charge your credit card now for stuff you won't get till July? Just tryign to work out how much I can whack onto the credit card now without leaving us short over the hols Grin

Thanks!

thejaffacakesareonme · 26/05/2011 16:14

I'm just so happy they have petite options. I am 5'4 and regularly find it difficult to buy dresses because they are often too long in the body and I end up showing off far too much cleavage.

I do think the prices are steep though. I'll order a few things with the discount but would not pay full price.

blossomtrees · 26/05/2011 17:28

i had a bit of bother with my order. When i paid, at the last minute my basket emptied and then as i did not get confirmation email i thought it had not gone through so i phoned and the guy hadn`t a clue. He was very suspicious of where i had got the preview from ,then he did not have matching item numbers. He kept me on hold so long i hung up (the choral music was torturing me)Then just checked my emails and the order did go through after all even though it did not ask for security verification thing. What a palaver

woopsidaisy · 26/05/2011 17:43

Yeah! They have the boys baggy cords. These are the best trousers going. Will be stocking up on these for definite. Was lost without these last year.
The ladies shoes have to be seen to be believed!
Funky?!

blossoming · 26/05/2011 17:59

millionaire, I'm not sure to be honest. I think they just reserve them and you pay later.
Anyone else verify this?

I'm hoping the uplifting tee is not too different from last year's cosmopolitan top. I have three and they are great.

Clockface · 26/05/2011 18:54

Yes I like the patent satchel too Hugofirst!

Gingefringe · 26/05/2011 18:59

I also love the satchel in navy. Haven't had an email off Boden yet though about the preview. Glad to see petite range at last.

Northernlurker · 26/05/2011 19:14

I like the satchel too but I am promising it to myself as a prize for when I get a new and fab job..........Hmm Hope they don't sell out instantly......

VivaLeBeaver · 26/05/2011 19:41

I've just ordered some kids clothes and it said payment will be taken from my card when the items are dispatched.

JemimaMop · 26/05/2011 21:25

Thanks Grumpy.

I may well order the Chelsea boots for the boys as with the 20% off they work out about the same price as Clarks school shoes which don't really stand up to serious wear!

mejon · 26/05/2011 21:32

Don't like any of the women's stuff - the rainyday mac has certainly gone up in price. I got mine 4/5 years ago for around £70 I think. Some lovely things for little girls though - DD2 will look adorable in this and in the funky dungarees.

nicolamumof3 · 26/05/2011 21:41

boys clothes can't be beaten imo, in terms of colours and durability. So lovely to see boys dressed in COLOUR! not sludge.

Baby ranges are lovely too.

Lipstickgal · 26/05/2011 22:17

I really am bored by what is on offer for women. So dull. I usually have a lust for their shoes and cashmere but it's all so meh.

jem1980 · 26/05/2011 23:03

How old is too old for Johnnie B? Am LOVING at least 4 of their skirts!

RainbowShite · 26/05/2011 23:46

Also what is the largest size in Johnnie b equivalent in women's sizes?

MilliONaire · 26/05/2011 23:57

Thanks for that Vivalebeaver and blossoming! I will be fine so. Just have to make the decisions now Grin

galletti · 26/05/2011 23:59

Does look a bit boring now - rehashing the same old styles with not very different material designs. Will take proper look tomorrow. Don't buy for dd now cos too old for kids and thing Johhnie B too expensive for stuff you can get elsewhere.

Northernlurker · 27/05/2011 08:03

I think Johnnie B is priced bearing in mind the outrageous price Jack Wills etc seem to get away with.
I agree womenswear is more expensive. The dress prices are awfully high.
