Palazzo pants. Yay or nay?

Pinkjenny · 03/05/2011 10:48

I covet a pair of palazzo pants, but am slightly concerned that they may go horribly wrong and end up looking like pjamas.

Also, I'm not a fan of buying the 'in' thing.

Any views?

What is the sizing like on those asos ones? Im an8/10, what size should i go for?

scotsgirl23 · 12/05/2011 11:45

go small. They are very loose fitting around the hips. I'd only go for the larger size if you are more apple shaped.

mosschops30 · 12/05/2011 11:47

Ok great am gonna go for the size 8 thrn. They are lovely Smile

mosschops30 · 12/05/2011 11:49

Boo hoo no mink or mocha in a size 8.
So do i go for tne black or white? (although with 3 dcs maybe white is not a good option)

Threelittleducks · 12/05/2011 11:53

Oh god, thank goodness for this thread - I fell in love with a stunning pair of blue palazzos yesterday and thought I was going mad :)

Mainly because I was on my own and you know when you are on your own and you are more likely to buy crazy things because nobody is there to tell you otherwise?

Yes, I have learned the hard way many a time before.

noddyholder · 12/05/2011 11:54

I like them but don't suit I am not skinny enough

scotsgirl23 · 12/05/2011 12:05

I have the black and will be ordering the white very soon...ok now just realised it's after 12!

Noddy - I'm NOT skinny but these ones are very , ahem, kind! I have tried some others where the pleating starts lower down (i.e. at top of thigh height) and they made my stomach look enormous.

Pinkjenny · 12/05/2011 12:31

noddy - I'm not skinny at all, you might be surprised, you just have to be selective in your styling of them, I think.

I like the look of them but I think I would just look ridiculous in them being only 5ft 3

largeginandtonic · 12/05/2011 12:56

Oooh they do them in maternity in DP. Hmmm.

Would they look ridiculous with a bump if the thing that are good at doing is emphasising a small waist Hmm?

Pinkjenny · 12/05/2011 12:56

What are you talking about? Maternity?

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 12/05/2011 12:59

Oh yeah Grin AM PREGNANT.

Grin
Pinkjenny · 12/05/2011 13:00

You are in serious trouble for not telling me.

largeginandtonic · 12/05/2011 13:02

Apols. You can beat me later, am too sick atm. Bleurgh.

So palazzos with a bump, yay or nay?

Pinkjenny · 12/05/2011 13:05

I think the asos ones would be nice with a bump. The Dotty P ones are quite tailored and might not be terribly comfy. Worth a try though.

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 12/05/2011 13:10

Hmmm will wait for a few weeks. The bump has forced me out of my usual jeans but am not in giant panels yet < shudder >

Asos have some fab mat stuff atm.

scotsgirl23 · 12/05/2011 13:17

There is a risk they might make you look bigger but knowing how damned impossible it is to be comfortable in trousers during pregnancy I'd go for them anyway. I think they'd be really nice and easy to wear - I had a black jersey knee length skirt which I wore a lot when I was pregnant and I suspect these would feel similarly nice!

socka · 12/05/2011 13:18

If I was between sizes for the DP ones that have been linked, which ones should I go for with the ASOS ones. I'm a 12-14, pearshaped? Thank you wise ladies

scotsgirl23 · 12/05/2011 13:19

I'd go down socka. I'm between sizes for the DP linen ones (which i thought were awful anyway!) and went for the smaller in asos.

socka · 12/05/2011 13:23

Thanks! And thank you to whoever posted the 20% code. I look forward to swishing around tomorrow Smile

Pinkjenny · 12/05/2011 13:38

Gawd, linen ones would look like you'd wrapped your bottom half in the bedsheet.

Have ordered the asos ones in black. Now I really must stop.

waxlyrical · 12/05/2011 13:40

Does anyone know if they suit shorter folk? - ie 5ft 3 and under

Rannaldini · 12/05/2011 13:42

I am concerned that they will shorten legs and dumpify people
beware
