Over here all you 40s and fading!

OP posts:
Blackduck · 12/05/2011 15:03

Wolf fleeces always makes me think of Max and Sira on the first Series of the Apprentice and the pair of them just weeing themselves about 'the call of the wild' wolf fleece.......

moondog · 12/05/2011 15:37

I quite fancy teaming one with some 'Chums' slacks and sauntering into work completley straight faced.

Blackduck · 12/05/2011 16:23

Whould have to be this pair

colette · 12/05/2011 16:51

Has anyone looked under the 'lifestyle' section Smile ?
There's 'auto' 'gardening' 'hobbies' and 'incontinence'

Blackduck · 12/05/2011 16:54

incontinence is a lifestyle ? ........ Hmm

DukesOfTripHazard · 12/05/2011 16:54

I'm imagiining Chums doing the wardrobe for Friends.

mittenkitten007 · 12/05/2011 16:56

Moondog, surely a T shirt is more seasonally appropriate.

MABS · 12/05/2011 17:54

loving that Blackduck ;-)

CointreauVersial · 12/05/2011 18:55

Blackduck - I always think of The Apprentice too, when I see the Wolf Fleece. V funny.

Blackcuck who would have "this pair"?

My mum. she is 80, but has been dressing like an 80year old most of her lifeGrin

She disapproves of me having shoulder-length hair as I'm over 40Hmm

Finallygotaroundtoit · 12/05/2011 19:13

Anyone remember Brentford Nylons?A whole shop of flammable clothes & bedding under one roof.

My best friend's mum dressed her in nylon head to toe, including flowered briefs & plastic shoes. She slept in flowered nylon sheets that crackled (as did bf)
My mum made me wear 100% cotton white knickers and clarks leather shoes Envy,we also had boring white cotton sheets

CointreauVersial · 12/05/2011 19:20

Aargh, I remember nylon sheets!! I had them as a child. I have particularly fond memories of snagging my toenails and watching the little static flashes in the dark as I slid down under the covers.

Jeepers, the very thought is making my skin crawl.....

I'm coming out of lurkdom to remember Brentford Nylons and their nasty wares. I slept on lurid pink nylon sheets for years (thanks mum), freezing in the winter and sweaty in the summer. They produced enough static in one night to power the whole street for a week, especially when wearing some gorgeous nylon culotte pyjamas purchased from BHS circa 1974.

I think I own the ultimate crepey bedtime accessory though............an electric blanket Blush

thenightsky · 12/05/2011 19:57

Oooh sid I love my electric blanket.

Kerry... I've wasted too much good money on pg testing kits over the last 4 years. Money that could have been spent on wine.

herbaceous · 12/05/2011 19:59

Yes to Brentford Nylons, and nylon bed sheets! I also had a brushed nylon nightie, and quilted nylon dressing gown. It's a wonder my hair wasn't permanently on end.

This thread's been making me chortle away, esp regarding Chumswear. Worryingly, I thought the dress in the pack of three had a certain fifties/madmen chic. Should I get myself down to Specsavers?

Kerrymumbles... I think we all need to know.

herbaceous · 12/05/2011 19:59

Oh, and Swedes I love you. Not only for starting the whole crepey thread in the first place, and being Roffle-tastic, but for getting up the duff at 44 with three-week cycles.

pointydog · 12/05/2011 20:09

A 3 pack of dresses. That's when to lie down on the sofa and watch columbo all day.

zanz1bar · 12/05/2011 20:16

My dual control electric blanket saved my marriage.
What I now need is some sort of multiple level, timed electric blanket.
Hot for lizard like coldness when going to sleep then cool down for my midnight tropical hours.

BecauseImWorthIt · 12/05/2011 20:27

Ha ha - kerry you are so pregnant Grin

moondog · 12/05/2011 20:28

Loving that wolf t shirt.
It is the kind of thing weird women with black dyed hair, loads of rescure animals and a fixation with tarot cards and horoscopes wear.

strawberryjelly · 12/05/2011 20:31

kerry under 50 you use contracpetion for 2 years after final period, over 50 use it for 1 year.
Oldest recorded natural birth in UK was 56.Shock

Wise up before you get caught out!

Al0uiseG · 12/05/2011 20:38

Good evening fellow hags, I've just been to a funeral and feel terribly haggish mortal right now.

FellatioNelson · 12/05/2011 20:45

You've all got me wondering about my joint parenting age now.

and the answer is ...94, almost 95. That makes me feel really old.
