c0rn51lk · 02/05/2011 17:23

Smallstuff · 02/05/2011 17:24

Hi again, love the title!! So back from four days eating fat filled breakfasts camping in Suffolk. As ever diet went peat tong. Some exercise walking round castles and the like. Wind blown, sun burnt kissed skin. Camp fire smoked hair... Luckily DH loves the outdoorsy me!!!
Planning egg and chips for tea. Fridge is mostly empty...
So new leaf turning over tomorrow. Still awaiting shred DVD. May have to resort to Hannah Waterman again. If I find time as have washing MOUNTAIN to climb...

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 17:25

I have to do low GI diet, the only cereal low on the GI scale is Special K and wheaty/ bran stuff which i don't like.

c0rn51lk · 02/05/2011 17:26

fussy mare

cyb · 02/05/2011 17:27

eggs are low GI AND Proteinous

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 17:30

I love eggs but I have to have bread to feel me up I even buy the soya Burgen loaf, and I don't like bread with bits in it

c0rn51lk · 02/05/2011 17:31

you have to wean yourself off it if you don't want a fat arse

noddyholder · 02/05/2011 17:37

I am a walker not a runner. Bread makes me fat full stop but I sometimes (pmt) have to have it. Easy once you get going to stop it though. We have a fridge full of bbq party type leftovers and it has been v hard to look past tehm to the nice ham

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 17:37

But it's sugar free and everything Shock Too late about the fat arse, I put 2 stone on since september, apparently my body doesn't convert insulin to energy so then it turns to fat, and my body then makes more insulin and so on....

Do any of you fellow hags suffer with worse acne than during your teenage years?

I have found that upon turning 40 my skin believes itself to be back in 1984 and is riddled with acne-type spots of mammoooth proportions, coinciding nicely with my period which makes me feel tres attractive Hmm. I never really had spots this bad as a teen. Clearly hormonal link due to time they appear. Anyone else a fellow sufferer and, if so, what are you using on your skin to deal with it?

c0rn51lk · 02/05/2011 17:38

God coco what a bummer. Isn't there anything your doctor can do to help with that?

tulpe · 02/05/2011 17:40

agree with Cornsilk that protein is the way forward for bread avoidance. Tis the only way I can wean myself off when necessary and not feel weak and feeble.

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 17:45

No, just got to eat low sugar/carbs, I can stop this but couldn't (obviously) if I took diabetes. I wish I had found out sooner, I've be running to the Drs with absolute exhaustion, and weight gain, and we were presuming it was my thyroid.

BTW acupuncture is good for wonky hormones.

tulpe · 02/05/2011 17:48

apologies for Cyb Wink

thanks for tip on acupuncture and hormone issues Coco. I prefer a natural remedy wherever possible. Haven't had acupuncture since trying to get labour started with DS2 (which was successful) so will give it a go.

bigTillyMint · 02/05/2011 17:50

Had a momentary panic when I saw that the other thread had filled, and then saw Hagsnet Grin

Went on a hilly walk with friends today and charged ahead all the time - legs feeling it now!

c0rn51lk · 02/05/2011 17:50

somebody needs to invent calorie free bread. Never mind all this silly hadron collider business.

cyb · 02/05/2011 17:56

coco feeling satisfied after a more proteiny meal doesnt feel the same as feeling 'full up' from stodge

its a weird feeling but you do get used to it. Its nice not to feel bloaty

FanjoForTheMusic · 02/05/2011 17:57

I look awful in all outfits/lights/seasons/circumstances, can I join?

I looked acceptable attractive until I had a baby. I'm going to sue her when she's old enough.

Great name saggar, are you from Stoke?

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 17:57

Having tea now, 2 hard boiled eggs and nice ham.
I'm so good.

May I join you? I look like I have Terminal Acne on my chin and appear to be growing a beard (4 bristly hairs that weren't there yesterday). I sneezed really suddenly earlier and a little bit of wee came out. Shock

Should I a) embrace my spots and beard or b) nick DD1's spot cream and pluck and c) buy a packet of Tena Lady and dress in beige polyester or d) do my pelvic floor exercises and buy some new jeans?

Am 46.

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 18:07

Spots on your chin is hormones.

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 18:09

ohhh I forgot to say< I had a dream the other night and in it I had 3 long, blonde hairs growing out of my left nipple. When I went to investigate they were like bristles from a brush Shock

It's this threads fault.
