OP posts:
noddyholder · 10/05/2011 11:30

What would you wear if you had to meet with a big group of friends from your 20s who you haven't seen in about 15 years? I have this delight this weekend and am excited but dreading it too Grin

kc0rns1lk · 10/05/2011 11:53

something to emphasis your best features noddy!

noddyholder · 10/05/2011 12:14

I don't know if I have any left after all these years!

Smallstuff · 10/05/2011 12:35

Mitten kitten... I have peaked for the day glamour wise with a tuna sandwich and Bargain Hunt!!!
Noddy not sure what to suggest. This scenario would fill me with dread!

CointreauVersial · 10/05/2011 13:02

I haven't had any hot flushes yet! Maybe god is saving that little treat for when I start to get bored of random periods and absent libido.

I'm definitely up for a hagsnet meet-up. Shall we go to the bingo, or maybe find a nice garden centre, where we can discuss our sparse growth, shady planting and compacted areas? Grin

Noddy - horrid, isn't it? I recently met up with a friend I hadn't seen for about 9 years, and he did a massive double-take, and actually uttered the words "what happened?", with a face like Shock

I'd like to think he meant it in a good way. i.e. "wow, you look fabulous", but I fear it was more of a "christ, you've let yourself go, love."

noddyholder · 10/05/2011 13:09

Oh god I am getting nervous We are all coming to mine after lunch to watch the football so am assuming as they are in my house they have to be nice!

CointreauVersial · 10/05/2011 13:14

Argh, that's worse ("Oooh, look at her lovely house....she's done well for herself.....must have married well Wink..........that garden needs a good sort-out, though Wink Wink").

Smallstuff · 10/05/2011 13:18

Better eradicate any problem shady areas PDQ then!!

noddyholder · 10/05/2011 13:18

CointreauVersial · 10/05/2011 13:28

Just looked at your profile, Noddy - no problems with your house, it's gorgeous!

noddyholder · 10/05/2011 13:47

I am not in that house anymore! Must take those down. I really look knackered atm need more sleep and less coffee Will start glugging water today n the hope of turning back the clock by saturday!

Blackduck · 10/05/2011 13:50

am Envy at house and is that you in pic? If so, I think you are on this thread under false pretenses....

sailorsgal · 10/05/2011 13:54

Noddy Where did you get that lamp? Exactly what I am looking for.

noddyholder · 10/05/2011 14:04

I bought the lamp in a shop that was closing in Brighton. It was quite spectacular when lit but I dropped it when we moved!

thenightsky · 10/05/2011 14:11

Noddy is that you? You young stripling Envy

noddyholder · 10/05/2011 14:17

That is not me it is my son!

Blackduck · 10/05/2011 14:20

What, even the close up? Looks doubtful, polishes glasses, checks again...

blossomtrees · 10/05/2011 14:23

you get lamps similar to that in Tk Maxx

noddyholder · 10/05/2011 14:31

I think you can get those lamps but that one was 4ft high and I have never seen another as nice and it was me who broke it!

Maiasaurus · 10/05/2011 14:34

I've just seen an ad for a free fitness programme with The Telegraph. And now I've lost it.

Where's it gone?

herbaceous · 10/05/2011 14:56

Merciful Lord. Just had another go at Jillian's Burn Fat Boost Metabolism, had a go at six of the seven circuits, though only did some of them once through rather than twice, and am about to flake out. MUCH harder than the shred. No nice rests for abs or strength - just constant movement. And two disturbingly lobotomised hotties being buff in the background. Always a distinct air of Lesbonia about our Jillian.

Blackduck · 10/05/2011 15:01

But is it working Herbs? Think I'll start on the shred if this one is harder!

herbaceous · 10/05/2011 15:11

It's only my second go at BFBM. The plan was to continue with the Shred, and do BFBM once a week once I'm a bit fitter. But DS killed my old Shred DVD, and the replacement's taking ages to get here. I think there's been a run of mumsnetters ordering them!

So, I've been doing BFBM in the meantime. I've also got Davina's High Energy Five, but as DS insists on watching that from dawn to dusk, I've got a bit sick of it. The moment he wakes up it's 'BINA!' 'BINA!'... After every meal, ditto. And it's even usurped Waybalo as post-dinner viewing.

bigTillyMint · 10/05/2011 15:43

Boots were doing a special 3 4 2 on menolieve when I bought some last week. Seems to be doing the trick for me too, thanks to BIWISmile

Just been shopping in town with a friend - got a fab new pair of blue wedges amongst other things. Not at all old haggishWink
