Morning Haglings!

That bootcamp looks interesting, although it's expensive. But I did see that they do a weekend one (2 nights/3 days) which was a bit more manageable, at around £350.

How about a Hagsnet meet up so we can all do it together?

We're not having a family holiday this year as I also have had so little work (not a journo!), so my salary has taken a very dramatic nose-dive - but I reckon I could afford to treat myself at some point over the summer/early September.

Anyone fancy joining me?

Smallstuff · 10/05/2011 09:17

Can't even contemplate level 2 or 3..... My legs are like jelly after level 1 have limped round the school run and now need to clean my house...eek...

herbaceous · 10/05/2011 09:22

BIWI - ooh, fancy. I think we're supposed to be having another week away en famille August/September, though that may well not happen.

Perhaps before any such bootcamp, we should meet up anyway, to make sure we don't in fact all hate each other. And to make sure everyone else isn't in fact slim and gorgeous.

Did first "real" day of C25K yesterday after trial run and then week away. It was okay did all the run intervals although my problematic knee is problematic this morning.

Have also lost a couple of pounds. Smile

Smallstuff · 10/05/2011 09:56

Oh and shred appears to have set off my hot flushes..... 8 so far today....nice....

I did a juice detox last year and by day four felt fantastic. Day 2 was bloody awful, OMG the headache.

Hm, hot flashes started up again here too. They are waking me up early in the morning, four or five a.m.

motherinferior · 10/05/2011 10:24

Fatty deposits only well known among people who don't know about the colon, I rather think, though. Proper medical types tend to point out it's all quackery.

I am being subjected to breakthrough bleeding before my period starts properly, oh what perimenopausal joy. On the other hand I find that if I don't drink I don't get hot flashes, which rather swinges me into abstinent virtue.

Smallstuff · 10/05/2011 10:30

Unfortunately I don't drink and still get hot flushes/ flashes... Recovering from one now before tackling the bathroom..... My life is such a whirl !?!?

mittenkitten007 · 10/05/2011 10:39

Grin smallstuff. If only I'd known my life would turn out to consist of such nonstop glamour.

kc0rns1lk · 10/05/2011 10:44

kerry how long do you have to do that supplement for and how often do you have it?
I am beginning to see a difference now - am running 5 times a week. Slept really well last night.

garlicbutter · 10/05/2011 10:48

I got HRT as soon as my hot flushes started. Had no problem persuading the GP as I waited for my appointment out in the snow, wearing a vest! I'm still on it, and will not stop until my periods have vanished (no sign of that yet, unfortunately.) The hot flushes stopped on day 2 of taking the pills :)

Mind you, I still get them when I'm drunk! Possibly not hormone-related Grin

Really, really, really should be taking commission for this - but if you're getting the hot flushes and especially if they're waking you up, go and get some Boots Menolieve - take one every night.

It has really worked for me. I still get the occasional one - but they're just that - occasional. Alcohol definitely brings them on as well.

It's not cheap - a pack of 90 (3 months supply) was £20+. You can buy packs of 30.

I have been amazed, honestly. I was getting such poor sleep because they were waking me up several times in the night.

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/05/2011 10:52

Here

Read the reviews as well - all echo my own experience.

mittenkitten007 · 10/05/2011 10:57

. . . and not only that but Black Cohosh is a really lovely garden plant

mittenkitten007 · 10/05/2011 10:59

though I suppose you would need racemosa to be botanically accurate, not simplex.

must. stop. procrastinating.

sailorsgal · 10/05/2011 11:07

Has anyone tried Solgar's PM PhytoGen Complex? Its sopposed to be good for menopausal symptoms such as low mood, poor sleep, hot flushes. Also good for PMS.

I spend so much on supplements I can't afford to eat. Grin
