Over here all you 40s and fading!

I am not happy with hagsnet either I'd prefer something less shrivelled

minieggfannomore · 02/05/2011 18:10

Depressing Kerry? I find it comforting that I am not alone in my decline into hagdom.

Having started day well with C25K and healthy breakfast I have slipped into drinking Pimms and eating raspberry tarts.

Deaddei · 02/05/2011 18:11

My skin is prone to ridiculous outbursts and I am 51 soon (14th May if anyone wants to make a note)
I put dd,s spot cream on which dries my whole face out.
I am going to have my roots done tomorrow, so will be facing the hell of looking at myself in the mirror for 2 hours.
On the bright side, my dh said I looked good today.

soyabean · 02/05/2011 18:16

nightsky and swedes thanks for garden advice on previous thread. I did go to Garden Centre today... but bought stuff for pots, will think about the shady spot.

TeoTorriatte · 02/05/2011 18:20

Deddei I also hate going to the hairdressers. Nowhere else would I wear a black cape at chin level and stare into a mirror for 2/3 hours under a non flattering spotlight.

TeoTorriatte · 02/05/2011 18:21

Sorry - misspelt your name Deaddei Blush

I have also found an extremely long eyebrow...about 4cms long.
Luckily I have a long fringe.
I suppose TenaTarts isn't a good name either Kerry.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 02/05/2011 18:29

I don't want to fall under the the hag umbrella either (mixed metaphor) but please...

BecauseImWorthIt · 02/05/2011 18:33

But Hagsnet is funny! Especially in the context of a crepey quiche.

Deaddei - I'm 51 and have been suffering from the acne for a couple of years now - it's definitely hormonal because it's always around when I have a period. Or, joy of joys, when I'm not having a period, but decides to arrive anyway.

I am not, ever, ever going to accept the grey hairs. In my case they are actually brilliant white, and when my colour starts to grow out/I've left it too long between sesssions at the hairdresser, I really look washed out and haggard. So grey is just not going to happen, even with the best haircut in the world.

Pagwatch · 02/05/2011 18:33

Think of hags net as ironic. As we are all actually so pert and glossy

That is what I am doing.

cyb · 02/05/2011 18:35

coco are you having any salado with that protein fest? Cos green eggs and ham does not a mealeth make

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 18:50

Umm no, nobody mentioned salad, FFS I don't have a mind of my own. I come on here to be told what to do.

I feel a bit ill after 2 eggs.

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 18:51

Do I look thinner yet?

Hassled · 02/05/2011 18:52

No acne here but lots of hideous perimenopausal bollocks to scare you with - I've had the periods that came every 14 days, the period that wouldn't ever bloody stop, the resulting Progesterone tablets experience (it turns out Progesterone makes you MENTAL), the worrying degrees of forgetfulness and development of a bushy 'tache that needs constant attention. It's exhausting.

And no, I'm not giving in to the grey either. I will remain "light brown/dark blonde" forever.

Boots Menolieve, kerry - they are brilliant. (Working for me, anyway)

But also - low carb diet and less/no alcohol

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 18:55

Does anyone else sweat a lot.
Or is just me?
I never used to, apart from under the arms, but, good grief, it drips down my face now.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/05/2011 18:57

Should we start dying our hair those Old Lady colours? There are three: old lady light golden blonde, old lady light brown and old lady orange. They are all a matt, uniform colour. And the clothes to accompany the hair come from Per Una (with shoes from M & S Footgloves).

Hassled · 02/05/2011 19:00

I sweat much much more. And either I never had a sense of smell before OR it's really smelly sweat. It's not good. I'm working my way through all known anti-perspirants/deoderants.

Mrs Schadenfreude - I'm currently sporting Old Lady Light Brown.

cocolepew · 02/05/2011 19:03

I'm sporting Trying To Cling On To Teenage Years.

I've yet to find a decent anti-perspirant. Last time I Took The Sweats, i used a mineral one. It was pretty good, I'll give that another go.

Deaddei · 02/05/2011 19:22

I actually flicked through a Hotter catalogue the other day.
Comfy but not attractive.
I am going to Kingston tomorrow after hair repair, to find something for dh to buy me for birthday.

Can I join?

Am 43 and on a mission to stop the fade - recently had botox on my frown lines, I look a lot better but they are so deep that they are still there. I'm going to have my crows feet done now, I wasn't going to bother as you only notice when I smile, but now I've realised that the trick it to tox before the wrinkles get too deep.

DH bought me some Olay ProX from the US recently and I'm giving that a go too.

Am planning to start cycling and back onto Dukan tomorrow.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 02/05/2011 19:42

Fanjo - I am. For my sins. Of which there must be many Grin

coco - blimey is that all you've eaten today? What have you had for your evening meal?

I've got a red face. My factor 50 appears not to have worked - although it could be wind burn....
