OP posts:
AnyFucker · 03/05/2011 18:45

it got too moany for bonsoir, I think

cocolepew · 03/05/2011 18:47

I haven't had a period in 3 years, bloody brilliant.

I have to go back to work tomorrow after 7 weeks off Shock. I may not last the day on salad, I'll probably faint with carb withdrwawl.

My body shape was pear but seems to be more pineapple atm.

cocolepew · 03/05/2011 18:48

This weeks Heat has "must have" nail colours.

bigTillyMint · 03/05/2011 18:53

I can't wait for no more periods.

So Coco, what are they?

cocolepew · 03/05/2011 18:58

Pale blue - Topshops Hocus Pocus £5 (looks lovely)

Mint green - Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique in Jade £4.99

Yellow - cheap version of Chanels Mimosa- Collection 2000 Lemon Soda £1.79

Lilac - Models Own Lilac Dream £5 (says to use with a tan)

FellatioNels0n · 03/05/2011 19:07

Yuk. [bleugh face] Fine if you are 12. Classy women wear the colours I said.

[gavel]

FellatioNels0n · 03/05/2011 19:08

If you go out over 40 in yellow nail varnish people will say you are eccentric and that (trust me) is NEVER a good thing.

kizzie · 03/05/2011 19:09

Phew - thank goodness ive found this - i thought id lost the thread from the original. Can calm down now Grin

kizzie · 03/05/2011 19:10

Just realised Ive got to read 12 pages to catch up!!!!! How did that happen so quickly.

AnyFucker · 03/05/2011 19:18

yellow nail polish is beyond vile

I like Barry M turquoise at the mo

I have a cheapo (can't remember the brand) bright green which I can just about carry off on fingers not toes, if I have a tan

I have a dark coral/orangey that looks nice, but might be a bit passe Smile

the best colour with a tan, though, is still black IMO

bigTillyMint · 03/05/2011 19:18

I agree Fellatio - that's what DD would wear and she's nearly 12!

cocolepew · 03/05/2011 19:20

That's the last time I help any of you.

Look unfashionable and old. I don't care.

AnyFucker · 03/05/2011 19:22

I can just see canary yellow polish looking like mashed banana with the fetching brown age spots on the back of my hands...

LovelyDaffs · 03/05/2011 19:45

So, what's the verdict on French manicure then? I'm currently sporting acrylic nails, as short as possible though not great long nail art talons. I'm a terrible nail biter and it's the only to stop myself. They need filling, so I shall have them painted whatever colour is going to make me look most young and stylish.

FellatioNelson · 03/05/2011 19:49

Look coco we don;t mean to sound ungrateful but we weren't really aiming for www.bing.com/images/search?q=su+pollard&view=detail&id=4B168DF81B2CDE40895EE46D815F15DEC1C38DB2&first=1&FORM=IDFRIR&qpvt=su+pollard and I think yellow nail polish might signal the beginning of a slippery slope to muttony nonsense.

Pagwatch · 03/05/2011 20:06

I think one does miss a few periods and think " how sad. Next stage of life beckons.."
Then you have a few months, maybe a holiday, some white skirt days - all without a moments concern and you think "fucking Nora, I am gad that is all over"

Pagwatch · 03/05/2011 20:09

My rule of thumb is that I try to avoid most fashions that I did the first time. Any 80s stuff does not look witty and retro. They make me look like this women from my chi, hood who still wore their 1950s coats and little hats.

I keep seeing fantastic flowery platforms. But I remember Mrs Davis telling me they were too high for school. So, no.

Maiasaurus · 03/05/2011 20:36

DD and I were walking behind a girl wearing acid-wash jeans this morning. DD thought they were soooo cool.

I think they were the very pair that I wanted and couldn't afford in 1983.

HouseOfBamboo · 03/05/2011 20:37

I think I'm perimenopausal, starting to get more erratic... can I ask a question - when they stop are you in a permanent state of PMT or is it more like pre-ovulatory?

I'm fine with the idea of permanently pre-ovulatory, permanent PMT not so good, obviously.

KristinaM · 03/05/2011 21:26

whoever asked about the shady patch beside the laurel - i wouldnt go for skimmia as its too similar in form and leaf to the laurel. you need a contrast , something varigated like lonicera nitida or euonymous fortunei. you will need to improve the soil as although you have cut back the laurel there will still be a huge root system sucking up all the water

i agree that ajuga repens and pachysandra terminalis will be good ground cover. also vinca minor

WhatsWrongWithYou · 03/05/2011 21:40

Thing is, Pagwatch, with that rule , considering the shorter revolving times of different fashions, the amount of stuff you can actually wear shrinks exponentially (don't know what that means, but still...) year on year.

If I refused to wear now everything I wore when I was younger I don't know what'd be left.

S'pose there's always Kaliko...

WhatsWrongWithYou · 03/05/2011 21:41

Wha'?!

FellatioNelson · 03/05/2011 21:42

I think she's on the wrong thread! Top advice though.

c0rn51lk · 03/05/2011 21:43

I went in kaliko once. It's like a posh per una.
