Over here all you 40s and fading!

Bag of spanners? You lucky thing. Mine are like bags of jelly.

I don't know whether it helps or not that I never quite clocked that I was in my prime when I was in it, iyswim.

bigTillyMint · 03/05/2011 15:46

There is no way I am getting a mirror out, thank you Mrs S. No wonder DH keeps his eyes tightly shut Blush

Love Pag's tampon episode though!

Please all come to the meet-up - then we can compare all our haggly attributes!

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/05/2011 15:49

My prime passed me by whilst I was thrice pregnant mi- I never even noticed it. Youth is certainly wasted on the young Envy

Anyway - what happened to us being positive? We didn't sustain that for very long.

i have had a pixie crop today and my hair has turned nearly all grey. It is a huge shock to see it like that but i like it in a certain way. I am going into hospital tomoorrow for a hysteroscopy and feel very middle aged today (i¬ m47) and i can¬t even wear any makeup, nail posih jewellery etc as it is general anaesthetic now that WILL be a hag

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/05/2011 15:57

Oh good luck tomorrow blossom.

I've sometimes thought about having my hair cropped but it's curly and I'd probably look OK for a week and then turn into an ageing Kevin Keegan.

I guess you could always throw your head back as if in ecstasy, rather than present your jowls, as it were.

motherinferior · 03/05/2011 16:01

Saggar, I have seen a pic of your hair and it is FAB. Me, I am contemplating cropping mine short but it goes bushy very soon.

Blackduck · 03/05/2011 16:05

See that's where it is really annoying - my mother did not put on an ounce (not an ounce) I tell you during the menopause (or after), she had a flat stomach right up to the day she had to be sliced open becuase of cancer....but me...well I was an 8 and now I am a 10 and I have these bits on the sides of my hips and I HATE it and I used to just stop drinking and volia they would magically go and I am NOT doing that mirror thing, daft me?, no way....
And breath....... (I have also been mistaken for ds's nan.....)

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/05/2011 16:05

You are most kind mi Smile

I need an S&B tip. What colour are the beautiful people wearing on their toenails this season? I currently have a frosted dusky pink and happen to notice my mum is wearing a similar colour. And whilst I've accepted I'm fading I'm not yet prepared to look 74.

OP posts:
cocolepew · 03/05/2011 16:05

Good luck blossom Smile

I have fat knees and an obesssion with linen shirts, I blame my mother for both.

DO NOT do the mirror thingy, you will cry.

Lie back on the bed and hold the mirror above you, all the loose skin falls back instead.

motherinferior · 03/05/2011 16:09

I think neons are surprisingly big this year, ahem.

motherinferior · 03/05/2011 16:09

That was re toenails, btw. Bright colours. Lemon yellow. Which does strike me as an unfortunate colour for feet, though.

carolemiddleclasston · 03/05/2011 16:13

Ladies a question....I am in my late thirties and have always looked quite young for my age. Why oh why and how oh how, in literally the space of weeks, have I suddenly got deep lines??
Any ideas and what can I do short of botox?

[Love hagsnet in the title btw]

dottyaboutstripes · 03/05/2011 16:14

So I've been reading through and come to the conclusion that the only upside to all of this is at least we are not dead yet.

I am 41 yr old mother to 6 aged between 16 and 1 and all of a sudden have HORRIBLE things happening.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/05/2011 16:15

Mine are green, Saggar, DD1, who is 12, has neon orange and yellow.

FellatioNels0n · 03/05/2011 16:15

Frosted nail polish is ALWAYS a no-no in my book - especially if it's pink. but I am wearing a pair of Clarks sandals today so please feel free to ignore me where style advice is concerned.

Nail polish should be gloss, no frost no pearl, and it should only ever be Vamp Red, Bright Holiday Pink, Deepest Almost-Black Burgundy, Bright Holiday Coral, OR....the Colour Of The Season, which can be as hideous as it likes - you will still look impressive for three months only. (It was either jade green or muddy puddle brown last time I looked.)

cocolepew · 03/05/2011 16:22

My nails are navy. My roots are grey. Stupid hair dye, I didn't leave it on long enough and in the shower this morning it looked like I'd cut my throat.

Al0uiseG · 03/05/2011 16:22

Currently wearing Confident Coral on my toes, it's my favourite, unless I'm going to Ibiza when I wear Daytripper (very neon) or America when I have a sort of Minstrel Chocolate colour.

[disclaimer, never been to Ibiza :o]

bigTillyMint · 03/05/2011 16:27

Oooh, lucky I have a bottle of coral gloss at the ready.

HouseOfBamboo · 03/05/2011 16:27

Well I think I may have the jowl problem cracked see here

I'll try it if the Lancome Genifique doesn't work.

Good luck Blossom. I too have stopped trying to hold back the tide of grey in a King Canute stylee. This site has been posted many a time but I like to turn to it in moments of gloom Going Gray Looking Great

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/05/2011 16:28

Right he frosted has been banished!

I have checked dd's stash and she has lime green and yellow which I'm thinking maybe not, also a shitey beigey colour which will probably look like I haven't bothered. The other alternative is dark red so I'll go with that for now yes?

OP posts:
cocolepew · 03/05/2011 16:30

Yes.

FellatioNels0n · 03/05/2011 16:30

God that website is fab! I'm going to spend hours on there.

cocolepew · 03/05/2011 16:32

Have you seen pictures of Penelope Cruz at the Met Ball thingy?

I want to look like her Envy

FellatioNels0n · 03/05/2011 16:32

Yes to dark red. Can't lose. And make sure the nails are quite short and blunt. Long talons are for old women. Very naff.
