Petit I lurve the birthday outfit. Fabulous. I actually prefer the LK shoes to the Miu Miu ones; the material looks a bit wintry. But feel free to ignore me, shoes are not my strong point (see two days ago, need to have cnfirmation from all here before buying a pair).

Anna is magnificent Bloss, what a nice welcome to September.

Marsha we'll rev up the links to makeFriday extra-good for you.

Speaking of which, I think this Reiss number coulde a good bridesmaid dress. We're hitting the shops on Sunday after a firm brief from little sis ("No maxi, I'll look like a middle-aged Art teacher") so am lining them up in preparation.

AntPants1 · 18/05/2011 20:45

marsha what a lovely post. Looking forward to having you mooch around the post again. wan ignore your mother. Horrid thing to say. I have seen your photos of you in your holis and you don't need to loose weight are LOVELY. deep breath! everything so sorry to hear you sound so down. I really hope things pick up for you. You have had such a lot to deal with. It takes time. carciofi my DH said it had bears feet when I was pregnant with DS. I completely lost all sight of bones in my feet, ankles, wrists and hands...bloss sorry wales is wet and windy. You di sound very stylist though.

My redirect dress www.reddirect.co.uk/p/Accessories_Clothing/GE1-01.htm. Not a success. I love the print. But is fixed and not a true wrap so back it goes.....

notyummy · 18/05/2011 20:47

Apuski- thanks for that info on the MBTI- interesting stuff!

Marsha- hope work becomes less of a pain.

Fritzi- sounds like your work is becoming a real issue. I hope you are able to resolve it one way or another.

Loving the birthday outfit Petit.

Emo76 · 18/05/2011 21:33

Just wanted to post and say hello - work is a bit nuts at the moment and with baby STILL waking up at 5am on the dot I'm turning in early most nights to attempt to get some beauty sleep.

Anyway hope you are all well, have enjoyed some lovely links and high five marsha on your plans!
bloss I hope weather improves, weather here was drizzly today and my hair looked awful as a result.

Watching a show about thrift and don't see any mentions of "cost per wear"...

HI all
Paper is done (ish) but was really good fun, actually - great to be back at work and using my work brain, although quite tiring....will catch up properly.

I am an ENFP. Totally ridiculously me, read the profile and that is all you will ever need to know about me!

Housework is not my Best Thing but ENFPs are not in to the mundane (maybe that's why the wine works, Fritzi, do you know what you are?)

Bloss that bag is beautiful and I am not normally a luster after bags.

NY thanks for the info. I am off to the big smoke for my visa medical and might organize one as a treat...

Emo76 · 18/05/2011 21:48

oh everyspring I'm sorry you're having such a tough time of it. Please don't underestimate what you have achieved, you have much to be proud of already and it takes time to get over a relationship ending, even if it is your choice. Sorry everything is so tricky, hang on in there - you are an amazing woman.

roary · 18/05/2011 21:56

Everyspring we crossposted - sounds very rough right now but on a cheering note your declutter book looks awesome. In true ENFP fashion I shall buy it as a solution to my clutter problem. :)

redllamayellowllama · 18/05/2011 22:03

Everyspring, I don't 'know' you so well and hope I'm not being out of line in commenting, but I'm so incensed on your behalf by your DH's attitude. It seems that everything is so 'easy' for him - travelling worry-free, secure in the knowledge that he has you for emotional support and that his DS is in such wonderful hands. And I'm sorry that the other people who should be there for you are letting you down emotionally. Everything you have done is really amazing, you've been so courageous.

BTW the New Look tops are very slouchy - I'm in 8s and am normally a 10 on top because of my boobs.

FritziGreenEyes · 18/05/2011 22:17

everyspring Things sound really tough for you at the moment. Is there anything you could do to make things a bit easier? Could exH take DS out when he is seeing him to give you some space? So sad that your sister is not supportive. Can only imagine how hard that must be if you were close before.

roary I took an MBTI test a while ago, just checked my type and I'm INFJ. I quote: "... Or we may see some signs of disarray in an otherwise orderly tendency, such as a consistently messy desk." See, it's not my fault Grin.

blossoming · 18/05/2011 22:19

Just back from the cinema. Saw 'Patagonia' (area in south Argentina where many Welsh people went from round here to seek a better life). Film was in Welsh and Spanish - perfect for me, and it had Matthew Rhys, phwar! (From Brothers and Sisters).

I love self help books everyspring, and I think you look great in hats (from the photos I've seen). Get through each day and one day you'll realise things are getting better. Have faith.

wideawakenurse · 19/05/2011 07:20

Good Morning.

Thank you all for your kind and supportive comments re my DM. It was ok, although I was pleased that the day was coming to an end. I took your advice and just nodded and smiled at various points and lots of gritted teeth.

every you have a lot on your plate at the moment, and the good thing is that you recognise that. As Bloss says, keep faith in yourself. Do you know what though? I believe that feeling jealous is not always a pointless emotion. That strong reaction you get when seeing pictures of happy families etc, keep hold of it and use it as a vehicle to get you where you want to be. Remember, you are closer than you were 6 months ago. Someone very wise (an amazing coach) told me once about celebrating and appreciating when you get half way to your goals. We put so much emphasis on our gold standard, end points that we always yearn for. But its so important to recognise when we are half-way or nearly half way to where we want to be.

petite your birthday outfit looks great. I prefer the LK's though.

carciofi My favourite is the coccinelle, but then I love navy. Will you use a changing bag? I love my Lin and Leo one - looks like a handbag but with lots of pockets and compartments.

Marsha The end is in sight, well done! Looking forward to seeing what you order.

Bloss Your K Midd comment made me laugh. Although I do believe that they are currently renting 11 private villas in the Seychelles at the moment. So, hopefully she is not having to consider rain hair.

Emo We are 5am wakers here too, although not by choice. I understand your pain.

Ants sorry about that dress, the print is lovely. Daft though, the whole point of a wrap is that you can make it work truly for your own shape.

Red reiss dress is a stunning colour. Happy Bridesmaid dress shopping. Where are you going to go?

carciofi · 19/05/2011 08:18

WAN, glad you survived your mother's visit.

Roary, my mother always said that housework was a waste of a good manicure!

Ollie, thanks so much for offering but I remembered that I have a similar dress from last summer which I will wear again when my feet deflate!

Everyspring, you sound like you have very little family support, I am sorry. You do sound very strong and you are getting yourself through some tough times. Could you explain to your sister how she makes you feel or maybe avoid her calls for a while?

Bloss, you would look good in a flat cap. I will have to expand my hat collection whenever we move back to Ireland.

Red, that Reiss dress is lovely, gorgeous colour.

Wan, I like the Lin and Leo bags but I have two changing bags, a boring but handy black Skip Hop that DH doesn't mind being seen with :) and a Juicy Couture bag which my dad bought for me but and I only really use on flights as it is too bulky. The sales assistant in Harvey Nicks tried to sell me an Anya Hindmarch changing bag but no way! I have discounted the Bayswater for now, it doesn't fit well on my shoulder and I think I'd prefer the money for a new autumn wardrobe. So it's the Coccinnelle, the red Anna bag (good pick, Bloss!) or the AH Maeve (hopefully Harrods will do a pre sale discount).

blossoming · 19/05/2011 08:27

Morning all!
Hey, don't give me the credit for the LKB Anna bag! carciofi, you saw it first I think, and it was on the handbag thread!
Glad you got through yesterday wan. I have a similar 'get through it' mentality with my mil.
Also agree with your words to everyspring. What you are going through everyspring is similar in a way to a bereavement. It hasn't been that long yet, and it does need time.

Will be late for school at this rate. Very lazy this morning, but the sun is out, so no hood required!
carciofi, I am only recently into hats. I loved my winter beret, I hope the flat cap thing works out, then I will need a trilby type hat for the holidays..
Happy days everyone.

wideawakenurse · 19/05/2011 08:54

Agreed to take DS to a toddler group with a friend this morning. The idea of this has totally deflated any sense of style for me this am. Therefore it's skinnies, white t-shirt and black boyfriend cardigan and ballet flats. Not too bad an outfit, but now cannot be bothered with eye-make up or extreme hairstyling. I will regret this later!

carciofi · 19/05/2011 08:56

I love hats. My dad collects them, he has one for every occasion! Burberry do some great rain hats. I got one in the sales last summer.

A mum at DD's nursery has the Anna bag in tan. It is lovely.

carciofi · 19/05/2011 09:00

Petit, I like your new outfit and also prefer the LKB shoes.

blossoming · 19/05/2011 10:49

Tell me I've been good.
I filled my basket with the lovely ring detail bikini, swimsuit and the trilby from White Co, then decided to fill my Crew clothing basket with birthday presents for DH instead.
Grumpy but worthy.

petitdonkey · 19/05/2011 13:44

Thanks all for saving me money - missed the delivery for LKBs today so will have to hang about tomorrow.

Am feeling very happy about my birthday now as I am finally under 11stone for the first time since falling pregnant with my third child. (She's now 2!!) I realise to many of you that probably sounds quite big still but after hovering over 12 stone for much of the last 7 years since I had my first, it feels like an achievement. The last time I managed it was after DD2 arrived and I only did it then with a hefty dose of PND and a return to teenage bulimia Sad. This time, I've changed my diet and committed to Shred and am really going to try to never go over 11stone again. I'm never going to be a size 8 (not with my 32Gs!!) but if I can maintain a healthy size 12 I will be more than happy. Sorry to be so self-absorbed but I'm feeling quite positive!!

Everyspring - I am a relative newcomer and don't know all of your background story but keep strong and the fog will lift. I can only agree with wan and bloss - it really is like a bereavement when a relationship ends and the hardest thing is trying to re-define a future that you previously had mapped out. Hope you are feeling positive today and that you take support whenever it is offered be it in RL or here.

petitdonkey · 19/05/2011 13:48

Following on from llama's New Look tops - these are lovely and I'll be much less annoyed if I put a belt hole in them than when I do it to my Reiss ones!

blossoming · 19/05/2011 13:57

Well done petit, that is a great achievement. Keep it up! I love those lkb sandals too. It's odd but my 'go to' going out shoes are always my lkbs.

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 19/05/2011 15:00

Ooh, petit, they are nice. Very similar to the £££ Kain ones. Huge congratulations on your weight loss; it's amazing when you reach your personal goals and it sounds like your attitude to it all is incredibly healthy.

WAN hope you survive toddler group intact. We're heading to Oxford Street where my sister is going to have the obligatory Laura Mercier pre-wedding makeover. Should I keep quiet when they do the hard sell on their eyeliner and matching paintbrush thing?!

Bloss v virtuous - well done.

My best friend is on her way down and we're out tomorrow night for dinner and drinks with some other old friends. Struggling a little with what to wear.

notyummy · 19/05/2011 15:29

Quick hello.

Manic day. Lots of running around at meetings and briefing Ministers on a couple of things that may happen that would be Not Good economically. Drained but will force myself to do a Billy Blanks Bootcamp later because in the long run I will feel better. Wabted to do L2 6W6P but DH has taken away with him - grr!

Petit - that is great news on the weight loss. Well done. A healthy size 12 that is sustainable without any 'strange' methods sounds like a fantastic goal.

Every - Hope you are feeling better. Thinking of you.

Hmm - no S and B at all there. May order bikini tonight and report back!

PORTIA4 · 19/05/2011 15:40

Just saw the Queen drive through my local village! Took DD3 out of school early and thankfully we had a birds eye viewSmile She really is amazing to have done so much since she came to Ireland, I wish I had half her energy!
On an S and b note, she was wearing a beautiful blue ensemble with a white trim
Every 'hope that today is a better day!
