I think I ma going to order this bikini having seen it featured in an article under 'flattering for pears' !! It does also have the requisite padded cups, fairly high cut legs and what looks like a little bit of bottom support.

wideawakenurse · 12/05/2011 10:29

I would go with R&P then emo, as not sure you'll get as good service at Selfro's. Might be worth calling ahead and booking an appointment at R&P's though, they can be busy.

Good luck!

Looks good, NY. Am with you on the non optional padding situation too.

ApuskiDusky · 12/05/2011 11:50

Ruth Langsford is on This Morning in LK's Davina dress - nooo, I bought one in purple, I don't want to be wearing the same thing!

blossoming · 12/05/2011 12:47

apuski, you poor thing! But you know it will be unrecognisable on you compared to her don't you? It is a great dress.
On that note, I love that Coast dress emo.

Today I am wearing indigo skinnies, white linen blouse from Kew and a fuchsia cardigan. I went next door and my mum was also wearing a white linen blouse and a cardigan. Feel 75.

ApuskiDusky · 12/05/2011 12:53

The skinnies make all the difference bloss!

Have just realised that it is my (11th) wedding anniversary tomorrow - only dawned on me when two cards arrived in the post! Blush Off to the shops this afternoon then!

blossoming · 12/05/2011 13:12

(Hides eyes at thought of dear bell-shaped mum in skinnies).

OP posts:
notyummy · 12/05/2011 18:40

Phew what a day! I have spent all this week in presentations and meetings that have generated work, but have little time to focus at the computer and actually DO the work. At the moment Monday is clear and I intend to tackle the enormous to do list....

Apuski - I am infamous in this house for being fairly rubbish for things like that! It is supposed to be the man that traditionally forgets that sort of thing - but not here. DH is the one that books the meal out, surpises me a pressie/cards when I have forgotten about anniversary/valentines day. He most put out that I hadn't got him an Easter egg this year after he bought me two, plus 2 for DD....and organsied an easter egg hunt for them round the house. Blush I have never forgotten his birthday or Christmas presents though!

ApuskiDusky · 12/05/2011 19:13

NY, yes, I'm the same, though at least DH isn't over-the-top so doesn't show me up too much. But he has just got home with ingredients to cook me a lovely dinner tomorrow night, as I had said I wasn't ready to leave A with a babysitter yet. We are shockers when it comes to birthdays - his is the day after mine, and if we've been really busy, we start negotiating a pact whereby it's OK if we don't get presents, or end up getting something joint a little later. Who says romance is dead?!

I suspect DH has come down to my level - his family are really into schmaltz (sp?) for occasions, and my family just isn't - gritty Glaswegian stock!

Emo76 · 12/05/2011 20:01

Happy anniversary for tomorrow Apuski

Have had "xen tan" done - am slightly sticky, smell of biscuits and turning browner......!!!!

Putting off packing and watching telly with glass of wine. Looking fwd to some shopping in Miami!

OllieWollieWoo · 12/05/2011 20:07

Am breaking almost all of my new food rules (no bread, mid-week wine, puddings etc) today - a 3 hour Dutch lesson & DH being out for the evening means I have resorted to a dinner of baked beans on toast, glass of wine and now about to scoff some B&J's cookie dough ice cream! Lekker (Dutch for yum!) but not v healthy!

DS2 had his first playdate from school today - so sweet - they walked out of class arm in arm and his friend had drawn him a picture! He is milking his latest scar tho - said his plaster wasn't big enough to show it off!

Emo have a great trip - can't wait to hear all the details.

Plum think its today you are off to Italy - have a lovely trip too.

No S&B news tho am looking for some cushions for the garden chairs and a tablecloth that matches - proving surprisingly hard to find.

PORTIA4 · 12/05/2011 20:23

Hope that you both have wonderful trips Emo and Plum
Bloss lol at bell-shaped mum in skinnies!
Happy anniversary Apuski
OWW Got really nice cushions for garden chairs from The White Co. last year.

Emo76 · 12/05/2011 20:28

OWW wish I could post in Dutch to you to aid revision! Got some lovely stripey cushions from habitat for the fab furniture set recommended by carciofi a few weeks back if that helps (which it probably doesn't unless there's a Habitat near you!)

blossoming · 12/05/2011 20:33

I have 'women's troubles' from hell. I would say the worst I have ever felt in the 28 years or so. So am I joining you emo and ollie in a glass of wine! (Cringing at the thought of how bad a mother I have been today.)

OP posts:
blossoming · 12/05/2011 20:36

portia, I should feel grateful really that I have inherited my dad's shape: the (copyright pending) 'spider' shape. All arms and legs, and big noticeable belly!

OP posts:
ReineDeSaba · 12/05/2011 20:48

have been busy trialling various sponge/icing combos but wanted to pop in and say hi.

OWW what a day and what a lot of homework

thai pork soup sounds amazing everyspring and good that DS open to chilli!..

just watched storyville on catch up...last days of the arctic..amazing icelandic photographer..recommend highly!

notyummy · 13/05/2011 09:35

Bloss - hope you are feeling a bit better today. I am not usually troubled by that sort of thing now, but can remember some really horrible days in my early teens. My best friend at school (who is still my best friend now) used to have horrific problems and was sick/fainted.

Reine - Good to hear from you!

It is a lovely day here - just gorgeous. Friday is my 'long run' day and I am almost looking forward to it because it is so nice outside. I may not be saying that in 10 miles time..... I really must remember to start applying sunscreen before a run as I have a bad habit of going out utterly bare faced - obviously I am not going to be wearing make-up etc, so I don't both doing my usual morning routine which involves moisturiser with SPF. Not good!

ApuskiDusky · 13/05/2011 10:01

Hope you're feeling better this morning bloss.

Right, I am finally on the Urban Outfitters site to buy the sessun, and have found some bargain suede bags, but I can't decide on colour - either the mustard or the khaki. They also have them in stone and red if anyone else is interested!

notyummy · 13/05/2011 10:11

They are a bargain Apuski! I think the mustard one stands out more and is more unusual, so would be good if you all ready have a range of handbags. The khaki one might be slightly more practical as suede can mark fairly easily and mustard will show the marks more I think. I do like them both.

roary · 13/05/2011 11:16

Hello all
The paper proceeds apace - Pickled I did chuckle at your comment because I am an ACE procrastinator and always feel slightly embarrassed for telling off my students for same.

Bloss I am completely with you on 2 fronts: lady troubles (feel brutal today but writing paper) and the SPIDER!! I think I am a spider too, as we've discussed. Or a rectangle.

Can't wait to clink through links. Apuski I love the Davina and haven't a clue who that Ruth person is anyway.

roary · 13/05/2011 11:20

NY that bikini is totally hot.

I have been eyeing up thisbathing suit but perhaps not the best for a Spider or this www.anthropologie.eu/natalie-one-piece/invt/7142468190316/ which would be great for those of us too lazy to attend to bikini waxing regularly. I think someone has linked to that last one before?

blossoming · 13/05/2011 11:53

Why oh why do I live in such a cold, wet land? I have the heating on.

Thanks for your concern. Still feel awful. I may have a bug on top!

roary, after ruthless measuring, I am a 'spider with carrot tendencies'. How soon can I lose 2.5 inches from my worst part?

Putting dd down next. Will click on lovely links while she sleeps.

Lunch today: scrambled eggs with chives from my herbaceous border Wink, smoked salmon trimmings and spelt bread toast with olive oil spread. With 2 mugs of black lavazza silver and red. Yum.
