Morning all!
Thanks everyspring. I'll take that - classic dramatic!!
binneadair, is it you selling scarves?

OP posts:
pickledsiblings · 09/05/2011 09:35

Good morning everyone Smile

binneadair, was that a hormone induced name changing frenzy Grin, hope you are keeping well and it's not too hot for you.

Bloss, that Phase 8 maxi will be beautiful on you. How is your hair now?

Fritzi, that is a really nice swimsuit, love the colour. What shape is it at the back?

everyspring, well done on doing your bit and Looby, so sorry to hear about your friend.

binneadair · 09/05/2011 11:02

Looby, so sorry about your friend, how sad for her family.

Everyspring, well done.

Nope Bloss, not me selling the scarves. I'd like the Crumpet zigzag one though hanging on for their summer sale. I forgot to say, if I am able to get around, it would be lovely to meet you and the kids.

Pickled, I posted my real name so changed my profile name to a nickname my dad calls me, which is apparently the name of a mental hospital and now my childhood nickname is ruined forever! :) So now using the name of my home village as gaeilge. Go on, join Facebook!

OWW, hope your course is going well. You'll be fluent in no time. I like the WC maxi. DH said to me this morning, I suppose you will be making a detour to Westfield after your hospital visit on Thurs. Eh yes, why does he think I chose that hospital!

Thinking about this Boden Ltd top in navy as there is 20% off at the moment ... too fussy?

Pink Supergas arrived, I like them, not too pink and more comfortable than Converse.

Rufus, did you hear about this? Poor Msgr Houlihan must have been bemused!

VerityBrulee · 09/05/2011 12:08

Just lost 2 long posts ARGH

So, I'll just say hello for the moment and be back later Smile

PORTIA4 · 09/05/2011 12:20

Hi AllSmile, have been busy all weekend and so only just catching up!
Wore my Hasbeens at long last and they are really comfortable. Went to a communion party on Saturday and wore navy trousers with breton singlet and tailored denim jacket, and on Sunday, DD3 was 9 yrs old and so wore white skinnies with other breton singlet! and navy embelished Boden cardi, felt good in both outfits and they were easy to put together!
Bloss I bought last years version of the P8 maxi and got lots of wear out of it, it's very flattering if I do say so myself!
Binn It appears that we both hail from the same town, it's a small world! I love the boden navy top by the way - I'm definitely having a bit of a navy moment.
Looby So sorry to hear about your friend.
Fritzi that's a great swimsuitSmile
OWW sounds like you had a great Mothers day, best of luck with the Dutch classes, I also love buying stationery! and Every's wardrobe lists have given me a reason to buy even more notebooks!

blossoming · 09/05/2011 12:41

Cannot believe I was just watching This Morning and it is so sunny in London! Dark as night here and torrential rain.

binneadair, looks like DH's meeting will be on the 6th. That's cutting it a bit fine for you isn't it? The supergas look cool, and I like the navy top. Thinking about the title of this thread, i.e. wise, and of everyspring's lists, what occasion would you want it for?

pickled, I should have listened to you! No, my hair is actually quite cool, and I think it looks good now Blush. Or is it that my eyebrows are more arched? Anyway, I won't go there again, but it's okay!

Sounds like you've had a stylish time of it recently portia. Did you end up getting the smaller J Crew dress?

verity, I may be going wheat free for a fortnight. You're wheat free aren't you? Please come and give me some tips!

ollie, hope your lesson wasn't too traumatic. As a teacher, I would also hate teaching for 3 hours solid with only one pupil!

My last day tomorrow. No more wages, nothing left to ebay.... Desperate times ladies!

OP posts:
binneadair · 09/05/2011 12:42

Portia, that's funny. I will have to pm you!

NanAstley · 09/05/2011 13:00

Hello everyone. Hope you all had a good weekend. It was quite a dull weekend here with sporadic rain. I also had to ferry dd1 to two birthday parties, both in soft play centres. I generally hate the primary-coloured forced joviality of soft-play centres, so it really wasn't a very enjoyable time for me.

looby so sorry about your friend. When things like this happen, it really throws you. Cancer is a horrid disease Sad

binnedair I love the WC skirt you linked to. Also the Superga. I love my Converse; is this really more comfortable? Hard to believe!

bloss glad you like your haircut

OWW best of luck with your classes. Three hours is a looooong class, for both teacher and pupil!

NanAstley · 09/05/2011 13:02

Fritzl did you link to the Seafolly swimsuit? It's gorgeous! I love the colour. Sadly, I would never be able to wear it with my FF cups Blush

I'm off to Bravissimo today for some very boring but very essential bra-shopping.

Nice skirt Annie!

Like the sound of your outfits Portia.

Blossoming - let us know how the wheat free stuff goes. I think I would find it hard tbh. I managed 5 days on the Attack bit of Dukan (although there is LOT more that you can't eat on that) before succumbing to boredom and the lack of anything to eat with crunch! Honestly - I wasn't hungry at all, just completely and utterly bored. Would be interesting to know what the results are like for you because i will probably do a week worth of something before my holiday in the summer and would prepared to try wheat free rather than protein only if it worked.

Rufus - thanks for the nude heels tip. I am a definitely going to buy some (although not this month - I have spent enough already. DH covered some of my personal shopping budget, but not all!)

Big presentation went well this morning thankfully. There was a great turnout, and I was a bit nervous but actually the speakers before me, although older, weren't that great (is that awful of me??) so I felt like I made a pretty good impression. I actually quite like public speaking/presentations when I get started as it is something I have always had positive feedback on in the past. I had been really nervous about the questions because I expected a bit of a drubbing on government policy from the captains of industry, but I think I answered them ok.

Phew.....

Well done notyummy. I'm sure you are brilliant at that sort of thing.

I mentioned on another thread that I bought this brown rice fusilli in my local health food shop this morning. I can't tell you how delicious it was, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and normal pasta. Cooks in 6-8 minutes!! They had spaghetti aswell. I shall be stocking up and taking it on holiday with me.
I also bought some Spelt flour while I was there, and made two 1lb loaves which are now in the oven. I intend to slice when cold and bag up in the freezer so I can take a few slices out when I want a base for scrambled egg or something.

I am looking for a family hotel in London. You used the Park Plaza Westminster? Or City Hall?
Have you tried the Novotel London City?

Wow at that skirt anniemac [wolfwhistle]!

OP posts:
notyummy · 09/05/2011 13:45

Park Plaza Westminster. V good. Family rooms, well placed and nice staff. I have a feeling the City Hall one is v close to it? Not sure whether they have the nice family rooms though.

Not tried that Novotel - been to the ones in Euston and Paddington. Both good, especially Paddington which is quite new/shiny and has family rooms and swimming pool.

NanAstley · 09/05/2011 13:46

Well done ny It sounds like you knocked them dead Grin. I must have missed the post, what did you wear in the end?

binneadair · 09/05/2011 14:00

We stayed in the Park Plaza Westminster while I was in labour with DD and St Thomas's said it was too early to admit me! I couldn't face going back to sw London.

Annie, that skirt is fab.

Portia, I sent you a pm. However, please don't feel you have to reveal your true identity if you don't want to! I like the sound of your outfits.

Well done on the presentation, NY.

I have been neglecting DD and looking at all your great photos on Facebook.

Nan, yes they have a thicker sole and seem more comfy.

This skirt just arrived but I don't like the colour, it is purple.

redllamayellowllama · 09/05/2011 14:00

Yay NY, glad it all went well for you.

Rufus - I think I saw the very Carvela heels of which you speak in my nearest TK Maxx. They has them in patent black as well. Looked lovely. Have been staking the place out in the hope of finding some Blochs, but they never seem to have any. The other women of South-East London must be doing likewise.

I must say Bloss, I do admire your commitment to diet/exercise; very much my inspiration. Hope the wheat-free thing goes well; i'd also like to hear feedback. First day of level 2 Shred this morning (I'm doing 15ish days on each level before moving on), had forgotten the step up it entails, but, it was much easier to do than this time 3 months ago.

Love the sound of all these outfits PORTIA, very chic indeed.

redllamayellowllama · 09/05/2011 14:04

St T's did the same thing to me with DS binneadair; we weren't quite as intelligent though. We went and got on a train (yes, a bloody train, as DH decided this was perfectly reasonable and I was too tired to protest) with my two pillows, my two huge bags and, the piece de resistance, an empty car seat. A real low point.

blossoming · 09/05/2011 14:12

llama, that sounds awful. I missed out on that as had to be induced with 1 and 3 as was overdue, and dc2 born by emc 1 month early. I do feel I've missed out on labour really.
Good luck on level 2. I really hate that level!
I've added more photos for you binneadair. What a glamorous lot you all are.

FritziGreenEyes · 09/05/2011 14:20

ollie How was your first day back at school??? Hope you don't have any homework to do Grin.

portia Great outfits!

pickled Swimsuit is just cut straight across the bag. Straps can be worn crossed or like a normal bra strap.

annie I'm a big MaxMara fan and love your skirt!

notyummy I knew you were going to ace the presentation. I would have fainted. Think you deserve some nude heels now Wink.

bloss Spelt is great. A lot of bakeries round here do spelt bread and you can buy spelt pasta in most supermarkets too. Sending you some sunshine as it is almost hot and summery here.

nan Hope you treat yourself to some fab bras!

binn Supergas look like good alternative to Converse. Prefer the light pink too.

Red, you poor girl! We brought along the car seat too. DH kept the hotel bill as a memento. S Thomas's were great when they eventually admitted me (for induction 24 hours later)!
